I visited this place on the advice of someone who has purchased here before. I called ahead to find out how much glasses cost. I was told I could get two pairs of glasses for $76. I was NOT told that literally *everything* is an upgrade. Polycarbonate or better is an upgrade. Scratch resistance is an upgrade. Glare protection is an upgrade. Wasn't told any of that over the phone. So I get there and I choose frames I like. No mention of the special. I watched prices closely. One pair was $60 (regular glasses) and the other was $109 (sunglasses). Jeffrey sits down at the computer to price the sunglasses only to start. He adds all the upgrades and the total is $419. Doesn't walk me through the upgrades (I don't even know what they all mean) and ask me what I want. Doesn't give a crap that he's trying to sell me a $419 pair of glasses like it's no big deal. I was livid and I told him so. I'm not paying $419 for a pair of glasses. I mentioned the special for $76 that I was quoted over the phone. He says, "Oh, that's for these frames" - and shows me 4 rows of ugly ass frames. You get plastic lenses. No scratch resistance. Nada. Just two ugly pairs of cheap glasses. I went to Eyemart Express for the first time. I was having issues with my own optometrist office fitting my glasses properly and I wanted a second pair. This Eyemart had a great variety of frames and very accommodating staff. Syrena helped find the perfect frames for me. When we added my RX and all the upgrades, I paid half of what it cost at my local optometrist. Wonderful experience! I accidentally broke my glasses while traveling through Reno. Gave Eyemart a call and they said as long as I have another pair of glasses they can get my prescription and make new ones. Great Optometrist! Very thorough exam. I give her 5/5 stars. I have to move this review down to 3/5 for the frame store/lab. They were fast and had a lot of good options for frames. Had lenses put in my own frames quickly (15 minutes!) and they were neat and clean. A little bit of an up sell type of place as I saw on their sales screen they had a bunch of "goals" for the month listed. Be wary of that. Also, they allow dogs in their store! There was a dog barking at customers when I was there on 7/2/19. None of the employees did anything about it. Not a service dog. Just an older guy who didn't want to leave his dog at home, as he told an employee. My daughter is highly allergic to dogs so I can never bring her there. Defeats the purpose of getting an eye exam if your eyes are red, watery and itchy. read more

Went here for exams and glasses for three years before I found out yes, they took my insurance, VSP, but they neglected to tell me it was out of network. I wasted so much money! Yes, you get your glasses in an hour and the doctor next door is very nice, but failing to inform me that I was paying more because they weren't in network is inexcusable. I've been purchasing glasses from this location for a few years now and every time I have been impressed. The prices are extremely reasonable, even if they are outside of your insurance network, you receive your glasses within 2 hours, and all of the staff members are friendly, knowledgeable and helpful. Case in point was my most recent experience. I have a medical condition that makes my eyes very sensitive to change. I ended up having to go back 4 times with 3 different prescriptions before my eyes accepted the glasses (again, this was because of my eyes, not an error on Eyemart's part or on the part of my Optometrist). They changed out the lenses 3 times at no charge and not once made me feel like I was causing them a problem. On the contrary, each employee (I think I worked with all of them by the end) continued to assure me that they were going to do everything they could to make sure I was happy with my glasses. They really went above and beyond. I feel certain that I would not have received this level of service anywhere else. She had no problem requesting my current RX from my optician (which I forgot) . After ordering two pair of glasses, they were ready for pick-up in less than an hour. Props also to the General Manager Julie as she was very helpful as well when I picked them up in making sure my glasses fit properly and gave me tips on how to take care of them. Even with insurance I still came out of pocket about 250 dollars. Which i guess is normal. There are just fees everywhere. I think the frame place and optometrist are different? I got two non-designer pairs (basic frames) for a decent price. But filing my contact prescription was just ridiculous. They wanted 50 extra bucks because my insurance only paid for so much but it's only a 6 month supply. I go to a different place and get a year supply for the same price. Smh. read more
