I was not medicated enough for the procedure, though I should have spoken up they could have assessed me better. The dry eye was pretty significant for almost a year. I did not have astigmatism prior to my LASIK; I now have irregular astigmatism in both eyes caused by complications from this procedure- either due to dry eye or incorrect measurement during procedure. Up front: I did not physically visit this business but was referred to them by my primary care…read morephysician. I developed eye floaters and periodical flashing lights in my left eye. This was concerning, so I visited my primary care physician on a Wednesday morning. He was concerned if there was a possibility of a detached retina and encouraged me to get an eye exam appointment in the next 24-48 hours. He suggested an opthalmologist and sent an urgent referral. He said to call the opthalmologist office to schedule right away. He also said that if I couldn't get an appointment to try an optometrist because if it's a detached retina, it was critical. I called the opthalmologist office and they said they did not receive the referral and that they'll call me when they do. So my next call was to the HMO's referral coordinator to ask what are my next steps. They found my referral and said they'll send it right away and that the opthalmologist office should have the referral in about 20 minutes. I called the opthalmologist office about an hour later and got their voice mail. Left a message that my primary care physician said this was urgent that I needed to make an appointment as soon as possible. I called again on Thursday and was told when their intake coordinator receives my referral, that she will call me. I called my optometrist but also had to leave a message. Needless to say, I got to see my optometrist on Friday and the eye exam didn't show a detached retina. I did finally receive a call from Family Eyecare Associates on Monday afternoon, and since I didn't need to visit, there was no need to schedule an appointment. Bottom line, I'm sure this business is busy, but does a referral marked Urgent make a difference? Who knows.

On my last visit, Dr. Devries took the time to help me by calling the Rx Rep and asking where the most affordable place to purchase it would be. That's not something I've experienced anywhere else! I looked up different eye places and saw that this office wasn't far from me and they looked really clean and professional. I gave them a call and asked them if I could just get my glasses there since I had already seen an optometrist and had my prescription. They said it was no problem at all and gave me their hours. I came in and it was a little busy which was expected since I didn't make an appt or anything since I was just getting glasses. They have such a huge selection!!! I was in glasses heaven! I tried on clear lenses and also sunglasses as well. I found my perfect pair. Looked at the price tag and ouch it was a $500 pair of sunglasses. Hahaha. I said to myself, dang it why do I have to have expensive taste? But knowing that my insurance would cover some of it I tried them on with the assistant that helped me and I fell in love. I never heard of Tom Fords but apparently they are a really good brand. They do have many other brands here that are higher end and mid end and lower end also. A week before my appointment, I realized I had overbooked myself with another Dr appointment and needed to reschedule. I called the office and the woman at the front desk argued with me stating I had already rescheduled this and she needed to know why I was doing so again. I explained I had not rescheduled, this was my first time calling the office but she did not believe me. I'm not sure why she was so argumentative or why this mattered. I ended up cancelling the appointment as this is no way to treat a new patient. There are plenty of other optometrists in the area that will have better customer service.

No words of comfort or reassurance that it was okay, just a I want to be done with you. I kept still with tears flowing out of my eyes and felt so degraded, it was the most barbaric experience. It is a serious level of vulnerability trusting someone with your vision. In this case higher knowledge and skill set does not equate higher consciousness.

They gave me best & worst case scenario up front so there would be mystery about how I could feel after LASIK. They did not want me to have any surprises. The staff called me prior to my surgery to make sure I didn't have any questions or issues and to remind my of the prescriptions I needed to take and how to take them. My mom and daughter were able to watch the procedure while it happened (remote TV screen). The staff was accomodating to them and answered their questions as the procedure was happening. The next day my vision was examined at 20/15 with no issues at all. The staff at Nevada Eye Consultants is unbelievable!!!!! I am glad I trusted my eyes to them.

Dr Sutton is the best doctor I've ever had!!…read more My experiences have been unbelievably great. Dr Sutton is the only dr to have ever made me feel really valued as a client. During the beginning of covid, I ran out of contacts and I called like 10 different optometrists and they all refused to take me in for a general eye exam. It might have sounded general... but I would be blind without my contacts so not being able to buy more was an emergency for me. I had never seen dr Sutton, and he still got me in within the week for an exam. Moving on a few months, I developed a nasty case of iritis. Dr Sutton went above and beyond to treat this. He seriously cares about his patients and you can definitely feel it. I was in and out of his office about 5 or 6 times and he was so accommodating with my schedule. He referred me to a specialist and got everything handled for me throughout the entire process. I will never go to anyone else. Dr Sutton is an amazing optometrist with a huge heart and passion for the field.
