Today I made a quick visit to get my lenses adjusted and after talking to Diana on the phone I was invited to stop by. I've purchased frames and lenses there in the past and so I was familiar with how their store worked and what the expected foot traffic would be, so after arriving and a few minutes waiting, I was actually greeted by Diana, the same person I spoke to on the phone. With a welcoming smile, she listened as I explained my issue, I told her that I purchased my frames from Ray Ban in which she said no problem, then she proceeded to make a few minor adjustments to my glasses and cleaned them. After telling her I use to work in retail and my past occupation, explaining I didn't mind the wait, we then talked about a question or two she had about her technology and she sent me on my way feeling great about my visit. It's always nice to have positive interactions in the community where you can appreciate the time you spend at local business whether they're franchised/commercial or not. I went to this location last night to pick up my online order and was super disappointed by the lack of assistance from staff. Immediately I had realized I ordered the wrong size, and asked what my return options looked like. I was told they didn't handle returns in store and I would need to figure it out online. I went home to start the online process--all to find out that in order to initiate my return, I need to take my glasses into a store for them to start the process. Now, rather than have this issue taken care of yesterday when I was literally already in a store, I have to go back out today to reinitiate the entire process. I don't know if it was a lack of knowledge regarding store processes or a lack of customer care, but I don't plan on returning to this location again. read more

They overcharge for a "special" exam that I was not aware I was getting. And this is after waiting an hour after my scheduled appointment. My copay should have been $40. This was the worst experience with glasses in my life. I went to the Lens Crafters at Meadowood Mall in Reno NV and found a great looking pair of Oakley frames. The lady helping me misquoted me a cost twice and she multiple times told me how blind I was. "Yes, I know lady. Thanks for continually reminding me." was my thought. I chopped the misquote up to human error and I ordered them. When the glasses arrived, they had not polished the edges of the lens even though I paid them too. No big deal, they sent them over to the South Reno Store to be polished. The next day when I went to pick them up at the South Reno store and the polish looked great! I was very happy with their solution. They had me try the glasses on and I quickly realized I couldn't see brand logos or read signs from across the store. Everything past 15 feet was blurry. I put my old glasses from 3 years ago on and I could see the things I couldn't with the new glasses. I told the person helping me and she told me to wear the glasses for a week and see if they get better. If I wanted to go get my eyes rechecked I could and they would recut the glasses. That didn't make sense to me but I figured I would try them out. Immediately, I had issues reading traffic signs and street signs. I called my optometrist and they told me to bring the glasses in and they would check them. Turns out, my glasses were not cut to my new prescription at all. They are in fact cut to worse than my 3-year-old prescription! I swung into the Lens Crafters where I purchased them and brought up my concern with the lady who first helped me. I brought my current prescription and the analysis that my optometrists office printed out showing that these glasses lens are nowhere near the prescription my optometrist wrote for me. The Lens Crafters associate told me a number of reasons why the glasses did not match my written prescription. First, I was told that Lens Crafters and the entire eye glass industry takes it upon themselves to compensate or adjust the written prescription because at the Doctors office has you look through tiny lenses when doing your exam and that's just not accurate. Then I was told that optometrists, and more than likely mine included really don't know anything about glasses and that I should go back to my optometrist and have him rewrite my prescription so it will be right. In all my years, I have never heard more ridiculous excuses as to why Lens Crafters didn't cut my glasses correctly and to my written prescription. When I requested that Lens Crafters cut my lens to the written prescription I was told no and that I only have three options. 1. Go back to my Optometrist and have them rewrite my perfectly good prescription, 2. Just learn to live with the bad, incorrect glasses or 3. I could return them for a full refund. I chose #3. I could not be more disappointed in a company and their staff as I am with Lens Crafters. Im so glad I did not write a review at the time of the order like they tried to get me to do before I received my glasses. read more

Knowledgeable Staff, 3-4 times the selections of any optical store in Northern Nevada, excellent and prompt service, and they have Omar. My needs were the only thing that mattered... At least that's how he made me feel. Plus his little 10 minute fix saved me at least $600 and completely solved a problem with my prescription safety glasses that VSP's network and Visionworks could not. VSP are you listening. The service at this store is outstanding. The new vision care provider, "Professional" Optometric is anything but. I had made an appointment several weeks ago and two weeks prior to my appointment the office calls to tell me that the doctor has decided to take that week off and that I would need to reschedule. Unfortunately, the office had no appointments that worked for my schedule (I live over 120 miles away). The office was rather inflexible in accommodating my schedule, so I had to go elsewhere, only to find that every other vision care provider in my network was either not accepting new patients or had a 4 month waiting list. I just downloaded Yelp so that I could share my disappointing, time wasting experience here. First of all the lense crafters site is not good.. slow and constantly crashing and reloading as you use it. After trying to complete a return online and failing I was told to go to my closest store. I went and all I can say is that the reaction of the lady working in the store of not knowing how to do it and being beyond unhelpful in helping to find a solution was so disappointing. She really couldn't have cared less.. patronisingly called me sweetie and has now caused me to write a complaint. I even asked her if there was anyone else in the store that could help and she said she was the only one that knew how to handle returns.. even though she did not. I will be looking for another place to assist with future eye care. read more

I used Lenscrafters.com to place my order. The same day I placed the order, I read so many negative reviews of LC.com that I tried to cancel the order. Also, same day, LC sent me their "order confirmation," email. 2 links were provided: one to check my order status & the other to provide them with a copy of my prescription. They stated that if I didn't do this step, in 5 days, they would just cancel my order. Great, so I didn't do anything. I also checked my order status, but according to LC, "No order found." To my shock, 7 days later, I see LC went ahead & charged my cc $612 only 3 days after my order was placed for that 1 pair of MK eyeglasses. I saw the order was also mailed out. I received it today. It appeared that these Michael Kors glasses were nicely made, but that wasn't true. One arm was looser than the other and the glasses were falling off my nose. When I tried to fold them up and put them back, the arms wouldn't fold over nice and flat like you would expect quality designer Eyewear to be. They are nothing but cheap knock-offs but with the designer price tag. I am now in the process of returning them. Very disappointing. LC shouldn't have sent them to begin with! Waste of my time here. I gave them 2 stars because after receiving my return, they promptly refunded my money. read more

The reception desk employees didn't seem too friendly and I felt that they were trying to up sell my appointment way too much. My appointment was set to 5:30 but I didn't get in until 6:00. The optometrist is super friendly and knowledgeable. Once done with the exam, I wanted to buy some glasses. No one helped me find the right pair even though I stated that I had trouble finding a good pair of glasses cause of my nose bridge and long eyelashes. I found the pair I wanted with the help of my boyfriend. When I was ready to place my order, the employee that helped me was extremely pushing the sales on me. It was not a good experience. My glasses and contacts arrived super fast. When I came to get my glasses fit, the employee told me one of the screws fell out and caused the lens to fall out. They fixed it, but the screw does not match the color of the glasses (like the other screws) and there were scratches on the side due to them trying to put a new screw in. When I asked what would happen if the lens popped out again, the employee told me that I could buy insurance. Why would I buy the insurance if the screw wasn't my fault? When buying $300 Tiffany glasses, I expect them to be in perfect condition. Not to pay more. I will be going back to exchange the glasses. read more

After we filled out our forms, they took us back to the back to get our initial stuff done, the staff was so professional and Thorough. Then we saw the doctor and he was absolutely wonderful. We both saw Dr. James Raulino What a very professional optometrist. He went through the process of our exams, was joking and kidding with us and serious with our eyes and it was a nice experience to have a very professional Dr. Hey then passed this on to the glasses area and those women out there, you can tell that they all love their jobs. Linda Brown waited on me and what a crack up, she was so funny he and I got a big kick out of her. What time she was done with me she fix the glasses that I was actually wearing. Then my husband came out and she took care of him with his glasses and we really enjoyed her. Very pleasant and as cute as she can be. I will never go anywhere else again as they treat you with respect here and you can tell they really care about you. Thanks Lens Crafters! They sell a one year warranty on their glasses for replacement within the year. ALL frame companies provide a FREE one to two year warranty. LensCrafters will not help you with the warranty process if you don't purchase their plan. Our real optometrists office replaced the frames we bought from them, and are helping us with the warranty on the pair we bought from LensCrafters. They are charging customers for a free service. The only reason we bought there is we were looking for a cheaper pair because our son is hard on glasses. They were definitely not cheaper, and the refusal to send the frames back for the free warranty is a scam. read more

They had all of my contact information and made no attempt to call me to cancel my appointment. They couldn't even help me schedule another appointment. I am out drive time, sick leave from work and valuable time. I made the appointment against the better judgement of my fellows. Never again. Many people in my family where glasses. I'm out of contacts, no appointment and have to wear my glasses ): I call everywhere and no luck, its new years eve, everyone is either booked or closed ): ): Im crying my eyes out right now.....but I decide to try my luck and head into lenscrafters at the mall only to be told that they are booked and not taking walk ins. WHY ME!?!?!?!?!? I walk out and start talking to Gaby and Brittany asking what else can be done but we are literally out of options. It was my turn with the kids btw so im not going to ruin everyones day right? I take my little princess and prince to the play area at the mall then walked around for a little and on my way out walk back into lenscrafters to ask Gaby. As we're talking an angel calls out my name, "Cesar." I turn around and the manager from the doctors office is summoning me. I head over there and she lets me know, there's an 11:45 opening and if I would like it. I said ,"YES!!" From here on out it was the smoothest ride of my Life, I did mention I had my 3 month old and and my 3 year old. The have my 3 years crayons and paper which kept her occupied. (This review is directed to the optometrist Dr. Sharon Long and her team at this LensCrafters. I went in for an eye exam only and not to purchase eyewear or contacts.) Let me begin by saying, as an optical professional of 40+ years, I'm knowledgeable and particular when it comes to seeking an eye exam. I went in to see Dr. Long at LensCrafters because they accept my Optum of Nevada insurance through Medicare Advantage. I could write a long review with my compliments but I'll mention highlights. 1. A very clean waiting room and exam room. I always notice. 2. They were friendly and prompt getting me checked in. Professional. 3. The staff explained the benefit of having my retinas photographed WITHOUT dilation for ONLY $25. Wow, I was unaware this was possible now. Yes, please, absolutely. Everyone should have this. 4. The exam room was very clean and organized. The young person (everyone is young now, ha-ha), who prepared my chart before the OD came in, was super friendly and handled all pre-test questions with a nice charm, again, I really notice these things. Personal service....a rarity. He was great. 5. Dr. Long was very precise in her exam, and after showing me the images of my two retinas, was very patient and detailed in helping me "see" what was going on. I had 4 issues to address and she never hurried, answered each one completely. 6. I asked for a copy of my eyeglass Rx for my progressives, as well as a separate Rx for computer. No problem. 7. She prepared a form to refer me to my preferred eyewear surgeon, no problem. You can make your appointment on line which was very easy to do. So if you are in need of a thorough eye exam and want to feel welcomed and handled professionally, take it from one who knows. Dr. Long is an excellent optometrist. I enjoyed going to this 2 years ago when I needed an updated prescription. The glasses are so, so much higher than other places you'd have to be truly desperate to buy glasses here. However they accept my insurance and have same day appointments on weekends, which is really helpful. Also you could schedule online at your convenience, so that was really nice. They charge extra for getting a prescription for contacts but it wasn't too bad. Now over the phone I was told it would be over $100.0? That is wayyyy too much to get a contact prescription after wearing them for years. It was explained to me that they have new doctors so that explains the price increase. Does it really though? The whole idea of a chain store is that customers can expect can expect the same treatment and pricing in each store. This is a poor reason for a large hike in price, LensCrafters. They are raising their prices even higher and offer less convenience in exchange for that price increase. Looking for a new and better place to get glasses. read more

I understand that LensCrafters do not hold permanent optometrists, and I hope they did because the one that I got this year, 2018, was just not my type. Before, I had a breeze with the service. For this year, I waited almost 30 minutes pst my time. My doctor was kind of a jerk. I didn't feel comfortable asking questions because I felt dumb. I also spent more time waiting in the reception than my appointment. Their prices also rose for some reason. I used to pay $80 but then I paid almost $150 for this. I bought a pair of vintage safety glasses online for use at my job when I am outdoors. They come with foldable side shields, which seal against the sides of my upper cheekbones to protect me from the elements. Though fashion-forward and dapper, the glasses unfortunately did not sit on my face without falling forward and then off. Cue Lenscrafters. I waited briefly at the main adjustment counter after inquiring if alterations could be made to glasses such as these, which look like traditional black wayfarer frames, but with the addition of side shields installed with hardware to the frame. Kristi took a look at them, heeded a warning about the potential consequences of older glasses potentially having a greater capacity to be fragile and break, and then I gave her my consent to let her do her thing. She used a small heated air device behind the counter to warn the stems, and gently bent them to perfection, making several adjustments with periodic tests on my head until they were not slipping down my nose. The glasses now fit well, perhaps even too well, with the side shields in place for a long amount of time. Luckily, Kristi was super nice, and offered to make any additional adjustments if I need them in the future. I truly appreciate a professional being able to handle this task, especially without purchasing the lenses from this location. She certainly saved me from following some sketchy youtube tutorial involving a pot of boiling water, so many thanks for being so accommodating/not ruining a neat pair of glasses. read more

The ladies on the Kopolow and Girisgen side were super helpful and kind, the doctor I saw today was personable, quick, and very helpful. I came in for an emergency contact fitting; I'm on vacation from Los Angeles and I forgot my contacts! I was overdue for an eye exam anyway. The team here made sure I was seen promptly, even as a walk-in, and they did their best to expedite the process so I could return to my vacation quickly. I left with an awesome little trial pack of the perfect contacts and some complementary contact cases/solution bottles. SO easy. SO efficient. Thank you! read more

Great experience at Lenscrafters @ Meadowood Mall. Just switched jobs and my vision coverage kicked in.. set up an appt for my eye exam over the phone. Showed up several mins early to complete patient intake forms. I was greeted by Reina and Omar. I completed my forms with Omar's assistance and shortly after was escorted to the pre exam room where Omar was eager to answer my questions and then set me up with the eye doctor. Dr. Ha also was pleasant and comforting while conducting his exam. Super cool dude! Took a min to explain the changes in my prescriptions and answered my questions. We chatted for a bit and he then led me back to reception where Reina helped check me out. She then introduced me to Diana in the showroom and she help me get familiar with the brands, styles, and options. It got alittle busy in there and I took a little longer to pick out some frames so Diana got tied up assisting other customers.. when I was ready Reina stepped in to finish the order process and took time to explain all my options in detail..she made the process super easy and paid attention to my questions. She helped feel good about my selections, sized me up and I was done! I bought multiple frames for my prescriptions and was pleased with the servicea and experience. I have been going to several different eye glass stores for a few weeks trying to find a pair that looks good on me. I went in to LensCrafters once already and couldn't seem to get anyone interested in helping me so I left. I went back in the other day and a nice man named Miguel did come over and offer to assist me. Miguel was very professional, he did the whole run down on different price options on what I wanted on my glasses from transitions, progressive, blue dot, ect. Miguel even took a picture of me with the glasses on so I could go home and think about it. I told him I just did not want to make a quick decision and later regret the choice. He told me that if I decided on a pair and change my mind within so many days I could always come back and get a different pair. I also loved the way Lenscrafters has so many glasses to choose from. The only negative thing I have to say is, if Miguel had not been in that day I probably would have left because it seems no one else was interested in helping me. read more
