I stopped by to find a few pairs of inexpensive sunglass frames to go with my expensive progressive lenses prescription. The place was buzzing with customers but they were short staffed. When the associate pulled up my account, she said you have the insurance, so there will be no charge. As she is looking at the frame, she noticed that the finish was coming off! Ok so I spent over 300.00 on eye exam and glasses, the bifocals are not right I can't where the glasses without getting a headache and getting dissy. So I tried to call and tell them so I can get them fixed. The phone goes to voicemail but will not let you leave a message for two days I have called . I live in lake Tahoe and this was in Reno. I like to buy my eyeglasses here. They always have good deals, prices and are very friendly. The only thing is that I tried to see the Doctor to get my prescription. I arrived 12 minutes late and the receptionist did not want to accept me because they didn't know if they could see me. Their policy is if a client arrives 10 minutes late, they are going to make you reschedule. At some point, I understand and I don't want to make a big fuss about it. But their excuse is that they didn't have time to accommodate me and they were going to close early at 1pm. My appointment was scheduled at 9am. In other places, their policy is 15 minutes late. Just saying that I would prefer to hear that they can't accommodate me because they want to enforce their 10 minute policy. I end up going to another Dr. Still, I like to purchase my eyeglasses there but I didn't like their receptionist. read more

Told them insurance, the broker accidentally entered the wrong DOB for me, but was assured it would be fixed the day of the appointment. Don't waste your time. I had an Eye Med plan which listed this practice as a provider. My coverage didn't start until a few days later, I scheduled an appointment for when I would have coverage. After wasting 10 minutes filling out the online paperwork, I get a call saying my insurance can't be verified and my name can't be found. I told them it didn't start until a few days later but they said I was wrong and it should still show up in the system. They offered the eye exam price for their uninsured patients, but why would I overpay when I already have an insurance plan? A few days later they called and said I was right, my name did not show up until the insurance plan started. I ended up changing to an insurance plan that included medical, dental, and vision so I didn't have to have 3 different insurance plans. This was an Ambetter plan partner with Envolve Vision. I didn't have my appointment yet so I emailed my new insurance card. On my insurance website, this doctor is listed as a provider. I get an email back saying they do not accept that insurance. Then take your practice off the website and stop wasting everybody's time? The doctor's literal name is on the site. Terrible communication and customer service. I came in to purchase glasses and after my purchase was told it would be a couple hrs before they were ready. I received a text stating my order was ready. So I drove back to the shop only to find out only one of the two pairs are currently ready and that it would still be a while before the other pair was ready. So i can choose to wait for other pair. Or i can waste fuel and drive around waiting for a text. Then when I asked why they would tell me my order is ready when it's not complete. They responded we sent an alert per pair. That's something they should have told me when leaving. So that I'm not wasting my time making multiple trips. Then aparrently they don't deal with customer service questions well because they 1 didn't apologize for the miscommunication 2 they said that they could just refund my money and to take my business elsewhere . We have been here two times and both have been a good experience. They provide a fast service at a reasonable cost, especially with insurance. On our prior visit, I needed some prescription safety glasses for work. We visited with my prescription and they were ready within an hour. I even got an extra pair for a cheap price. Today, Saturday, my wife needed prescription glasses. We arrived, were greeted and she was picking out frames in a few minutes. She discussed insurance coverage and what she could get. She picked out two frames, added options and we were on our way to complete other errands in the area. In less than 1/2 hour, my wife was texted that her glasses were ready. This review is for someone SKEPTICAL of these new fangled fast eyeglasses places...How can they do it so cheap and fast? How can you get anything good? How indeed? I have no idea. All I know is I went in 2or 3 years ago for the buy 2 pair of Progressives for about $70 in cheapest plastic frames and I did not add a single upgrade. I have a crooked face and always wore metal frames because plastic sat lopsided. JULIE, their AweSome manager assured me she could make them fit fine and proved it before I bought glasses! She fit the frames on me perfectly BEFORE I paid for anything. I didn't buy UV or scratch resistance or AntiGlare or ANY additional cost upgrade. And those were the best most comfortable glasses I've ever had in decades! I used to swear by COSTCO glasses. But after over 2 years with these EyeMart Express glasses I'll give away all my expensive frames and enjoy these great inexpensive glasses forever. I just got a new prescription after over 2 years. I just went in yesterday and bought TWO pair of PROGRESSIVE LENS glasses in $20 red frames for under $85 TOTAL including tax. Both come with a cleaning cloth and hard or soft case. Seriously. In a little over an hour! They take my EyeMed insurance, but their in-house special gave me TWO pair at ONLY $7 more than my insurance copay would cost FOR ONE PAIR. So next time you see an ad for a bargain pair of eyeglasses from EyeMart Express you can take it seriously! DISCLAIMER...I do take excellent care of my glasses. I ALWAYS put them in the case when I take them off. I ALWAYS lay them lens down on top of the folded cleaning cloth in the case. So this is why I never have scratches on my lenses and don't buy scratch resistance. I'm just not picky about all the other things they sell. If you're picky...then paying extra for upgrades is worth it to you. The POINT is not that these glasses are just cheap...they are comfortably fit and they are SKILLED at MARKING the PROGRESSIVES SO YOU SEE PROPERLY!!! They remake them at no charge even if your doctor messed up your prescription! When I entered the store I was greeted so sweetly by an associates Amanda and Lee. Amamda offered me assistance and explained the specials. She gave me time to look around and I found these frames. I was hesitant as this they are really "trendy" and I wasn't sure I could pull them off. I tried them on and turned around and immediately Amanda so kindly and honestly said,"those fit your face shape so nicely." Hopefully these places have someone at corporate that is better trained at customer service then the person I emailed with yesterday. I am a known customer, and until yesterday, I would say a happy customer for the last several years. Why the change? Well, as a KNOWN customer, I get emails from time to time. They have promos in them. I click the promo, and select some glasses, but no. We must have an account. ok. So I go through the process. But wait, Eyemart Express needs to "confirm" my email. And then guess what? The confirmation email never comes. I wait, and wait, and wait. Then I even change my email in case that is the problem, nope, never showed (until hours later, but not on my known email, that never came). How long does Eyemart Express think I am going to jerk around with this before I throw my hands in the air and give up? Unbelievably, I went through about an hour of my life on this before I gave up and sent an email to their customer service. The response was completely inane and offered no solutions. 1st-----YOU ALREADY HAVE MY EMAIL ASSOCIATED TO ME---YOU DON'T NEED TO CONFIRM IT. 2nd----When a customer comes to you so exhausted that they have given up on you, then your only reason for re-contacting them is to FIX THEIR PROBLEM. After picking glasses and being measured I was told my glasses would be mailed to me. My son lost his glasses while at school so I needed a place where I could get replacement glasses with the least wait time. Most places take a minimum of a week but Eyemart Express met my need for glasses. There is a optometrist next door which made it convenient to get an eye exam. They were great too being able to take my son on the same day I called. Once the exam was completed, it was a walk next door to pick out glasses. Every wall was filled with endless frame choices and even had a section of two frames for $38. Mary helped us and was so friendly and didn't rush us. She even offered us a coupon for being a new customer. The prices were really good with all the extras such as polycarbonate lenses, anti-reflective, transition, scratch proof. With the discount, I thought why not get it all. We needed a pair as soon as possible so the first pair did not have the anti-reflective but we were able to pick up the glasses in two hours. There is no hurry for the second pair which will take three weeks. Losing glasses isn't fun but great to know there is a place that has their own lab onsite and have a quick turnaround. This is definitely my go-to for glasses and I would highly recommend them. read more
