My husband came here to get a new box of contacts, these are the same brand and prescription he's been using for years. A box is supposed to last about 6 months. We've had the box for about a month and he was almost running out of contacts because the lenses were drying out every other day when they are supposed to last for about 2 weeks. We called Eyeglass World and explained the situation and they told us to come in. While the contacts were not expired nor did they look out of the ordinary, we felt very confident something was just wrong with that batch. The manager, Tony, agreed with us and he was very kind and accommodating. We paid nearly $100 for that box that should have lasted 6 months and we were barely going to make it 2 months at this rate. He ordered a brand new box that will be delivered in 10 days. He even removed the rest of the stock off their shelves in the case that they were faulty or something. I really appreciated them taking this seriously. I don't personally wear contacts but I believe something that is literally laying on your eye ball all day should be taken seriously and handled with care. Prior to the appointment, I called and was assured they would check my glasses, even though I didn't purchase them from Eyeglass World. I had an appointment with Dr. House and shared that ever since my eye exam, my eyes have been irritated, especially when wearing my contacts. My eyes would become red, and even after removing the contacts, the burning sensation would persist, making it difficult to sleep. During the exam, Dr. House suggested that the issue might be related to the contact lens solution I was using. Despite mentioning that I had tried different brands, she generalized that many solutions are bad for the eyes without offering specific alternatives. I had to ask for recommendations myself, and the experience felt dismissive and unhelpful. The moment I mentioned getting a second opinion from another doctor, Dr. House's demeanor changed. She became defensive and told me we had nothing else to discuss, and told me to leave dismissing me with an attitude. As I was leaving, I noticed her making a scene with her coworkers, laughing about the situation, which made me feel humiliated. When I went over to the glasses section to have my glasses checked to see if the screw on my frames could be tightened. Sydney was initially helpful, but then Dr. House followed me over, continuing to hover and watch me, with her hands on her hips laughing at me claiming she was making sure I didn't "cause a scene" simply because I had said I would leave a review. This felt unprofessional and unnecessary. Eventually, Sydney also informed me they wouldn't check my glasses because they weren't purchased from Eyeglass World, despite what I had been told over the phone when I scheduled the appointment. Earlier this month I needed to order a replacement pair of glasses. I lost mine, needed a new pair, and have the warranty. Advised to wait between 10-14 days for my glasses. Girlfriend checks on the 14th day for me to see the status of my glasses, but they were never ordered because it was made as a store order instead of laboratory order. They were going to "rush" order it, 10-14 days, to make up for the inconvenience. The people here are lovely and helpful, but something tells me their manager/ corporate is much more concerned about costs than me getting helped correctly. During my visit with Dr. H(Altamonte Springs,FL) I was met with a passive aggressive and dismissive tone. during my exam I expressed the lens were blurry, she took no time dismissing my comment by passively aggressively saying tools were wiped down before every patient and there was no way it could be dirty, that it was just my eye sight. After rushing through my exam and removing the phoropter we could both see that it was indeed dirty. When she asked me if I had any questions I addressed some concerns that again were met with dismissive explanations. I received my prescription and I immediately knew it was wrong (I've been wearing glasses for 20+ years). I said nothing in the moment because her attitude was already so poor. I eventually reached out to corporate and got rescheduled for the Lake Mary location (where of course my concerns were validated). read more

I literally do not understand why there are anything other than 5 stars for this place. It was my first time going I had a 12pm appointment as I needed a new prescription for my contacts. I had my exam done and was able to place my order for new contacts (I already knew which ones I wanted) and was out by 12:30pm. Staff is super friendly and professional. Sat in the office waiting over an hour, while Dr Cynthia Franco took two different walk-in patients ahead of me. One of them even mentioned that he was scheduled for 3pm but showed up at 12p "just in case". I came in after 11am. I was so upset as I watched Dr Franco take in 2 patients who came in after me and were scheduled for later appointments. I cancelled my appointment and walked out. I rarely give five stars. I've been to this location twice. First time as a walk in for my son. No problem getting in right away. His glasses were available later in the day. Price was comparable to most. The second time is what earned them a five star and on customer service alone! My husband who was a new customer, got into a car accident and broke is only pair of glasses. Being new to the area, we needed a new prescription before just getting a replacement. I had called around to 7 or 8 places on my insurance plan. All of them up to this one had no one really answering phones. Some even went to a voice mail at 9:30am not lunch time. This place had a pleasant receptionist, who was just as pleasant and knowledgeable in person. Everyone else we encountered were also great but the receptionist gets it the five stars. read more

Been waiting almost 90 minutes for my scheduled appointment I get that things happen & the scheduled doctor didn't show up. I appreciate that my appointment will be complimentary. Update, please read! I want to acknowledge the upper management team for Eyeglass World for reaching out to me through email and phone calls after the last experience we had there. In particular the GM for Eyeglass World Tony Andres. I had an appointment for my other daughter and myself at the doctor's office, and Tony made sure to meet with me. He apologized and said he was thankful I left the former review because it was not the policy for Eyeglass World or the level of customer service they try to provide for each of their clients. While I was there, I witnessed Tony assisting in the eye doctor office (who had a new receptionist), and it was very crowded to make sure that all the patients had seats in the waiting area. When we finished our exam, he tried to give my teen daughter some tips for putting in and taking out contacts and then he went above and beyond to get us both the perfect pair of glasses and lenses with our new prescriptions. The rest of the staff was also enjoyable, and I can honestly say they have redeemed us as customers, and I will gladly send people their way. They take customer service as a priority and that the actions of one employee don't speak for the entire company, and they jumped to work when they saw there was a problem at that location. I feel that it is only fair that I update my previous, poor review based on my most recent visit here. It was time for me to order new contact lenses. So of course, not wanting to have to step foot in Eyeglass World again, I decided to shop around online instead. I found some decent prices, then realized I did not know my exact contact lens prescription, which would be pretty necessary in this situation. I then faced the cringing task of having to call Eyeglass World in hopes that they would provide me with my prescription (if it was even on file!) The person who took my call was polite and said they would have no problem with giving me the numbers but, I would have to come in person to do so. Eager to get my contacts ordered, I decided to go in after work. Upon arriving I was greeted by a young man (sorry, did not get his name). He found my prescription on file quickly and then asked if I was shopping with them or online for contact lenses. I wasn't sure where this was going but I stated that I was shopping around online since I knew it would be more affordable. He proceeded to tell me something that apparently, not many people know. Eyeglass World will price match online contact lens prices! Still a bit skeptical, I decided to go along and see what prices he'd find for me. To my surprise, in just a matter a minutes, he found me a deal that was exactly around the prices I had been eyeing online and had them ordered for pick up right at the store. My contacts were ready in just a few days. I must say, I was relieved that I didn't have to go through all the shipping and waiting hassle of ordering online. This experience gave me a little more faith in Eyeglass World (and staff) so it's 3 stars overall for me. Customer service was so much better and I hope they keep it up! read more

Had an appointment with optometrist. No problems here other than still had a charge for dilation and measurements even though annual eye exams are supposed to be covered by my insurance. They advertise same day service. Since I need progressive bifocals, I did not expect same or next day service. After one week passed with no word from store, I called and was put on hold and finally told "Mr XXX, your glasses should be ready tomorrow (Friday) or Monday". My name is XXX and I had to ask again when my glasses would be ready. Told soon and they would call when they were ready. They finally called 2 weeks after my exam and said that my glasses were ready and I could pick them up at any time. I arrived back at store at about 1:05 pm and after waiting 5 minutes at the reception counter was finally asked if I was there to pick up glasses. I said yes and then was told that the opticians (who fit the glasses) were out to lunch and I should return at 2 pm. I returned after 3 pm, was again asked if I was there to pick up glasses. I gave them my name, they handed me the glasses and a small card to read. I was asked to put them on and if I could read OK. No fitting, no cursory exam. Luckily, I could read well with the Rx and new glasses. The receptionist could have done that much 2 hours before Won't be back. Next year (my insurance covers annual exams and new pairs), I'll try someplace else. read more

Stay away from this place. I schedule a 9 am appointment for my 6 year old on a Saturday. After waiting for the receptionist 30 minutes after 9am, she tells me that the Saturday Doctor is not able to examine my 6 year old. I filled everything out and tell them my son's age 2 weeks in advanced. This place is also dirty. If you schedule an early appointment be prepare to wait at least 30 minutes for the office staff to show up. Thank you for wasting my time! Completely unacceptable!!!!! read more

I needed to get a pari of glasses same day and Leiana was very friendly and helpful explaining my options. She did a great job and was very patient with all of my questions. I came in with a prescription and no appointment and Leiana and the others who assisted made it possible for me to get at least one pair of glasses in one day. I had a great experience today. I lost my glasses this morning. And I could not find them. I'm legally blind without my glasses. I was so stressed and was crying. My spare glasses broke when I slipped n fell on puppy p. I tried everything to do a quick fix. Nope. I made it to Eyeglass World on 436 in Altamonte Springs. The attendant was fabulous. She tired to help me get my glasses fixed. But my frames would have to be ordered. I almost wanted to cry. Then I ask what is the cheapest route. In the end. I got two pair of awesome glasses for only 78$. I was so happy and they speed the process through and I only waited about an hour or a lil more. Thank u so much. U will continue to have my business. And I'm referring everyone I know. I got my original glasses at the EW on west colonial in Occee Still great service. Thank u again. Ur employees made a stressful day so much better. read more

The independent physician gave us excellent and thorough exams, and Jonathan Pittman was super at assisting with our glasses purchases--both for myself and my granddaughter. Do NOT go here. I had an eye exam done on 10/23 for new contact lenses because my script expired. The girls at the front desk were rude and were looking at furniture on their computers instead of being productive and focusing on their job. After waiting 20 minutes for my eye exam that I had an appointment for they told me they didn't have my new prescription in stock. Ok, understandable, I have astigmatism. They gave me a pair of lenses that was close to the one I needed to hold me off until the trial pair came in. They told me it would be 5-10 business days and I would need to wear the trials for a week and then would order a 6 month supply if the new script was correct. After waiting 3 weeks, I never heard from Eyeglass World on if my trial pair was in. I called and the girl at the front desk, Lisa, said my trials never came in. They were ordered but were still waiting on them. She told me she had no idea when they would arrive. Then, she asked if I would like to order a six month supply. Why on earth would I order a 6 month supply if I hadn't received the trial pair to even know if the new contacts are the right script? Lisa told me that she would reorder the trial pair and to call back and check to see when they were in. She said once again that she had no idea when they would be in. It could be 5-10 business days or longer. After reflecting on our conversation, I decided I was going to ask for my script to take my business elsewhere. I called back and the girl who answered told me she would have the store manager call me back. Jonathan, quickly returned my call and stated that he saw that I had come in and had an eye exam done and paid for it, but there was no script written down in my file. So, I would need to have another eye exam done. What?! So I spent $140 on an exam, have no contacts, and have to have my eye exam redone. Needless to say I will not be returning to Eyeglass World ever again and I will let people know about my experience. Do not go here!! read more

My eye exam was done by David, an excellent optometrist. When I went to pick out frames, I was helped by two employees and was happy with what I chose. Then, a man who seemed to be in charge, told me that I needed to buy different frames...several HUNDRED DOLLARS more costly than the ones I'd chosen with the help of the two women who had been so helpful. I told him I could not afford nearly EIGHT HUNDRED DOLLARS for glasses. He became increasingly belligerent and told me I would be sorry. I picked up the prescription, and he said they have the best prices. I asked his name and was ignored. He yelled at me as I left and said I wouldn't get a better deal. I went elsewhere and got nicer frames for less and was treated with respect. I feel sorry for those people who have to work under this man's dictatorship. read more

I have progressive lenses and prescription was incorrect for the reading portion. I picked out new frames and had the same problem. The optician told me that I needed a bigger frame and my old lenses had a curve. He told me to pick out a bigger frame and he would put a curve in the new ones. When the 2nd pair arrived, I had the same problem and when I asked the optician about the curved lenses, he looked at me like I had two head and didn't remember anything about it. I chose a titanium frame and have nothing but problems with them. The frame falls off my face when I look down and get out of shape every day. I took them back yesterday for an adjustment and Robert adjusted the frame and it fit well......for about four hours. This morning my wife asked me why my glasses were out of sync and told me that they don't even fit my face properly. I am heading back now to get a resolution to my problem. This is the first and probably the last time I used Eyeglass World and would never recommend them. The only reason I went there was because my old frame broke and they took me that evening. There may be a light at the end of the tunnel. Wendy, the receptionist was very nice and listened to my issue. Anna the optician was a welcome relief from the previous optician. Anna took a look at my old frames and determined that I needed a different and sturdier frame. Anna took the time to help me pick out a new frame and I really appreciated her patience and feedback. Both girls have given me a different perspective on Eyeglass World and I will update this post in a week when I receive my new frame. Thanks again, Anna & Wendy. I was contacted by the General Manager, Wendy, who asked me to stop by and have Anna the Optician fix my frames. I was very pleased with the results. Anna and Wendy were very professional. My new eyeglasses kept sliding down the bridge of my nose and became extremely annoying. Anna was able to resolve my problem by replacing the nose pads. I had returned to the store a few days earlier only to have another optician adjust my frames and send me on my way. I want to personally thank Wendy and Anna for providing me with excellent customer service and for being so kind and understanding. They should be recognized by their district manager. This is a tough review. My review concerns the staff and NOT the doctor. My experience with the staff, not the doctor's staff, was far from even acceptable. Rude, impatient, inept, unfriendly, uncaring, unprofessional...I could go on. I highly recommend the doctor, but take your prescription somewhere else if you want service that is at least decent, because you won't get it there. read more

I went as a self pay bc I didn't have insurance and they seemed to be reasonable. The doctor was great. However he left eyeglass world, they told me since my rx wasn't finalized I had to have another eye exam with another doctor in order to get contacts, even tho I already paid for one with the other doctor. And said since it had been 6 months I needed a new exam, even tho the exams are good for a year. They refused to even give me contacts to tie me over in mean time. I spent over $150 at this place and Wound up storming out and having to go to Hunt Club Optical who got me in immediately and paid for another exam. Good thing it was inexpensive and found my doctor had moved over to this office! Also found out they are giving the doctor a hard time releasing his patient files bc they want to keep charging the patients for new exams instead of just letting them take the file over to the new office where the doctor is now. If they had released these records I wouldn't have had to pay for a new exam! They are all about the money, not the patient and Will nickel and dime you! You're better off going somehwere else, not as cheap as they make out to be! read more
