My appointment was at 3:20 I was early the receptionist greeted me ask me how may they help, I tole her I was here for optometrist appointment today. The selection of glasses and shades was limited (in my prince range) however I found a pair or two I decided on. I definitely believe this lens crafters has seen some better days, carpet was visibly dirty and prolly normal wear and tear around the whole Mall . Dr Driscoll was Nice she entered the room introducing herself as well and she said that she was going to perform some tests on my eyes! OBTW I passed lol I also had my eyes dilated! Now it's time to seal the deal with Micheal sales associate with 35+ years of experience with Lens and he was professional, patient, very knowledgeable about all aspects of insurance business to assist with purchase! Hey Yelpers, I went back to this location and liked a pair of glasses that were missing a lens. I literally tried them on with one lens missing. After informing the employee helping us (who was rushing us and not welcoming in any way) she said, "oh yeah we know, it doesn't matter". What?!?! My sister later found the same pair up there with both lenses and I tried that pair on. After, deciding I'd like to buy elsewhere I asked for an invoice with the sale and without. She printed two copies of the same one and when I went back to let her know I actually had to show her so she could just print one. I mean couldn't she have just given me another one? Idk what was going on with her, but I'm done with Lens Crafters for good. read more

Bought new glasses and frames and within 6 months the anti glare coating was coming up and impacting my vision. Poor quality. First call a rep said nothing could be done as I didn't have a warranty but I could go in and talk to the manager. If I could give this place a -10, I would!!!!! Horrible service and experience. It's a shame because it is close to my house and I had the intension of bringing my family every year. However, my husband came and paid for his glasses and contact lenses on 11/1/22 we never heard from them after 3 weeks, so we called on 4 different ocasiones and all they say it "we apologize, there is an issue with the glasses let me call you back" the 5th attempt was today on 1/5/23, over 2 months. No text messages, no email, voicemail, or a call back! They don't know what is happening or even have the contact lenses. The glasses won't get done and we had to canceled the whole order. I've been going to the Altamonte Springs location on and off since 1999. I had an appointment scheduled on 12/28/24 for an eye exam and to buy new glasses. I had not previously been there since 2018. My eye appointment was with Dr. Eric Perez who was very professional, answered all of the questions and very patient; I didn't feel rushed at all. I had a lot of difficulty seeing the charts and asked Dr. Perez if it was possible that I had cataracts. The answer is Yes and he explained everything about what happens when you get them and what happens when they do cataract surgery. His explanation was very informative and interesting. Next, I sat down with Grant, the optometrist. He is a very nice, professional man and I didn't feel pressured in anyway to get all of the "bells and whistles" for my eyeglasses. Originally, I was planning to go to the Florida Eye Clinic because that was my last appt. back in 2019. However, after reading all of the bad reviews for the Florida Eye Clinic, I changed my mind. I recommend this place, but give yourself plenty of time for your appointments. This isn't the type of appointment where you're in and out in an hour. read more

Hubs and I both had eye appointments in January on a Sunday. We found the staff friendly. Our eye exams themselves were fairly quick and efficient and they allowed us to see the doctor together. Hubs got his dilation done first because he needed glasses and luckily I don't yet. He went to go pick some out while my visit finished up. When I got out the sales guy had managed to talk him into a pair that would cost us $600 out of pocket. After I shut that down real fast, there was magically a discount wall and we ended up only paying $114. I'm not sure if the staff receives commission or not but perhaps the sales staff should be asking clients about their budget before trying to convince them to buy ridiculously expensive glasses. read more

We like Dr. Libby Thompson a lot. In fact, she's the only reason we come to this Lens Crafters. We just waited an hour and a half for our scheduled appointment because the moron girl behind the front desk misplaced my wife's chart after we checked in on time. And even though she could see us sitting there, waiting, it didn't occur to her that we were waiting to see Dr. Thompson. Really? I usually purchase my glasses at the Optometrist's office (since 4th grade) but thought I would try LensCrafters. More of a high touch experience than I had anticipated. There are two sides to this coin. HEADS: front of the business looking for glasses etc is awesome, staff are attentive and super friendly. We just purchased frames for myself and sunglasses for my wife, i forget her name but i think she was floor supervisor, very accomodating, patient and spent a good chunk of time with us. Would reco this place for such purchases. Tails: back of the business, the eye doctors. Kinda hit or miss, for sure you need an appt. To be seen. Thankfully i only have to be seen annually, because there have been times where my appt time has gone waaaaay passed the scheduled slot and I am just sitting in the lobby contemplating a reschedule. Also there was an instance where one doc contradicted the other doc when it came to suggesting contact lenses that would be better for my astigmatism. All in all, i think the sales side is awesome, but the eye docs leave a little to be desired in customer service. read more

Every time I make an appointment they run at least an hour behind. Today after waiting 45 minutes they explain I need to come back and have a full eye exam as it's probably my cataracts giving me problems. Cataracts? I've had 4 eye surgeries in two years and not once was there ever a discussion about cataracts. I left and had asked for my records. They wouldn't give them without charging me $1.00 per sheet but they'll gladly forward them to my new eye doctor. Horrible horrible service I wouldn't recommend to anyone. read more

This review is regarding the office staff in the eye doctors portion of lens crafters only. The doctors office staff is what really ruins it for this location and that's unfortunate. I could go on for a while about how horrible the staff is at this location but I'll hit the bullet points so that I don't lose you. 1. They performed an unnecessary exam that my insurance doesn't cover and didn't bother to disclose that before hand so I could decide if that was something I felt was necessary for me. That exam cost me $30 on top of my co pay. If you go here for your exam watch out for that. 2. The office staff doesn't take responsibility for their mistakes. They did not order my husbands lenses so instead of waiting a few days to get them he waited a few weeks. When he called them after 2 weeks they told him it was an issue with the courier service but when I pick them up I find out what really happened was that they did not order his lenses originally and that's what took so long. No apology, nope, but lots of attitude. Dr. Libby is great. She's very knowledgeable and kind. She takes her time to explain things which can make her run long with patients so she can take a while to finally get to you. The front end is just not good. They don't greet you when you walk up, they don't say thank you when you leave, they don't follow up with patients, and they don't take responsibility. My husband and I will NEVER go back to this location. After this we may never go back to another Lens Crafters. read more

The entire staff today (5/28) was absolutely amazing! They were all so nice and helpful both in the optical area and the glasses. Dr. Cynthia Rodriguez was very nice, answered all my questions and was full of information. Her techs were also helpful during photos and evaluations and able to answer my insurance questions. While I was there for about two hours, I had all the photos and exams done as well as dilation and was able to pick my glasses. The girls in the front of the house with the glasses helped me pick ones based on face shape and I appreciated that they didn't try and push a lot of extras on me. The reason I take off a star has nothing to do with the staff or experience, it's mostly just glasses options. It was a lot of name brand which were crazy expensive and everything was "trendy." Im young enough that I get the trends but I just wanted plain regular glasses with no gems or fancy stuff and those options were extremely limited. That's just me though. Edit: I did have an appointment and showed up 20 mins early, they took me right away. So the wait was because I was a new patient. read more

I've been back a few times now to get my contacts prescription updated and the experience has been very frustrating. For my first appointment, everything went ok. They didn't have the trial contacts in stock so they were going to order them and let me know when they arrived (which should only take a couple of days). When I hadn't heard anything after a week, I gave them a call and they said they were on backorder. Two days later, I got a call saying they arrived. Normally I wouldn't be suspicious, but I did have a similar incident happen a year or two ago where they forgot to order the trial contacts and didn't realize it until I called. When I showed up for my follow-up (which should only take a few minutes) I ended up waiting an hour to see the doctor. When she finally did see me, she apologized and let me know that she had let her staff know to interupt her for follow-ups if she is running behind. Then she offered some extra contact solution and a couple of free trial contacts for my trouble. Unfortunately they didn't have the trial contacts in stock, so again they had to order them. Well guess what? It's been two weeks and I still haven't heard anything. It looks like the glasses area has it together, but the doctor's office needs to get it together. read more

Staff is very sweet. However, I had to go back five times in two days for them to get my glasses right. First time I picked them up the glasses made me feel sick. It was like looking through a fishbowl. Second time, they took the prescription down in one eye. On the third trip back, I tried the new prescription but I could immediately feel the weakness. Clerk said she would fix them in the morning. She also said that it didn't seem they curved the glasses at all on the first time and maybe that was the culprit, as the prescription was the same as my current glasses. Went back in the morning (fourth visit) and the glasses had not been touched. Was told the machine was broken and hopefully would have them done by the end of the day. Called back four hours later... At first they couldn't find them. When they did locate them, they said they were ready. Went back to try them. I asked if I could have a contact case and solution to put my lenses in while I tried them. They said the doctor's office was locked and that I should try them at home and come back if they're not right. Very frustrated and hoping not to have to return for a sixth visit. read more

When replacing my glasses they will give you a run around even when you pay extra for the eyeglass replacement insurance plan. This place is a joke. I had my eyes examined by Dale Thompson. After wearing my contacts for about an hour I started getting throbbing pains in my left eye and blurry vision. I went back to see him, he was so ticked off because I had pain. I have never seen anything like this in my life! I've never been treated by a DR like this before. I thought it would be an easy fix but nope, he's got air between his ears. I decided not to go back and I got my refund. I went to LensCrafters in Ashby square.. Dr Susan Driscoll. I have absolutely no problems or pain with my new contacts. He gave me the wrong prescription, no wonder why I was in so much pain. I also purchased large frames from the Altamonte Mall location. I thought I could get the same glasses at Ashby but the woman said my eyes are so bad they would be too thick around the edges, even with them being thinned out. So Altamonte Mall thought it would be a good idea that I walk around with coke bottle glasses... real nice. Seriously do not go to the Altamonte mall location, it's a waste of time & money! They don't care about you they care about getting you money and getting you out! read more

Two years ago I had the most bizarre appointment I've ever had. They sized me for new contact lens and when she tested my vision after, the prescription was WAY off. She didn't write real notes on my paperwork, just scribbles. Ended up changing my prescription twice. But only my contacts; I was told the glasses "don't really matter". When I went back to pick up the different trial lens, the original doctor wasn't there and the rest of the team could not make out her notes. I ended up with the wrong prescription. When I finally got my glasses, they immediately gave me a headache and have ever since. It's been two years and two separate appointments with a different doctor and I still cannot get my vision back to what it was because she messed up my prescription so badly. This is just a typical store that sells eye glasses,contacts and even has a eye doctor inside to provide you with a prescription for your eye but BEWARE this place is over priced there glasses are all $120 and up and there special sale they have going on is just a ripped off were you pay for the lenses only and still have to buy the frame it is not a good deal and you are better off getting your glasses somewhere else. There staff seems like they have little knowledge , also there could be 10 people in the store at once and only one person to assist everyone. This location is located right inside the Altamonte Mall and can be busy at times but over all you are better off getting your glasses at a place not located inside the mall were they are not overpriced like they are here and were they wont try to scam you with there special "deals". read more

If I could give them zero stars I would. Scheduled on my day off 3 weeks ago as my glasses got scratched and they have a 1 hour lab so I arrived 2 hours early for my appointment explained the situation, picked out which frames I wanted. Waited the 2 hours and was seen. Once I came out they came up with the story they could not make them and would have to order them. Waited a week to get them. I cannot see properly, tried for over a week and a half. Called them to ask what to do and was told to come in and let them make sure they were made right. Yep they were right just needed adjustment.. HUMMMM I still can't see.... went back and they offered 12:00 noon or 2 pm as the only options for a recheck of a prescription. as I get every other Wednesday off I get to not be able to see for two more weeks. GREAT CUSTOMER SERVICE you mess up my exam and I have to either miss work or wait as you refuse to see me on the weekend, yet they took a walk in exam while I was there for a full exam. This was my first time going to get an eye exam at Libby Thompson's office, and I would never go back. My problem was with the Dr. I saw (Dale Johnson), he treated me like it was my first time getting an exam, and I have been getting contacts for at least 10 years. He really got under my skin when he put the drops in my eyes. He didn't give me the time to open up my other eye (after he put the drops in the first eye); he put his hands on my face and forcibly tried to keep my eye open. I told him to wait a minute to let me open up my own eye and he didn't listen. I had my hand on his wrist about to pull his hand off my face when he got the second drop in. I was so mad; I have never been disrespected like that in my life. Usually the Dr.s I see let me open my own eye. Then he had the nerve to say that I squeamish. I wanted to yell at him. And I have been having problems with the contacts that he gave me to wear before my ordered contacts come in. They keep getting "foggy" throughout the day everyday. Now, I am wondering if the contacts were "out of date" because he didn't even have the ones that I needed in stock. read more

I've been here only once and I too am very frustrated with this location. First of all the doctor was smug and rude. When I asked him why I could not get colored contacts his response was, "well the manufacturers don't make them in your Rx and I can't tell them what to do." Oh gee, thanks for being a smart ass. Bought new frame, transition lens, and replacement insurance for the glasses. Total a little over $900. After 1 month the lens was defective. Took the glasses back to the store. I asked them to replace the frame and lens. Due to the frame they sold me was a display and was not fitting me properly. After waiting over a week the store called and informed me the lens has arrived and I need to bring my old frame so they can install the new lens. I informed the clerk that I ordered lens and frame. The clerk got nasty and rude with me. Telling me that I have to get back to the employee that made the order during my visit. Then the clerk ask me who place my order. I really don't have a problem in here. I actually drove from the LensCrafters of Millenia Mall to this one because absolutely NO ONE was helping me with what I needed at Millenia. As soon as I came in, someone was available to assist me. Thanks fully, It didn't take me too long to choose the glasses I wanted and their service was pretty quick so I wasn't waiting and standing around. LensCrafters ok...the doctor and the doctors staff at this location...(Dr.Libby Thompson's group) extremely unprofessional, scamming appointments and about the worst customer service ever...example asked if they could see me for an exam, short on time and just spent 1500.00 on my wife's glasses and I figured I get a pair...they said sure come on in. Waited about 15 minutes before they put me in a room, did some flashing tests...then put me in another room and said the doctor will be right in...that didn't happen, sounded like a party in the next room! 40 minutes later still no doctor, party still going on in next room. I walked in with my boyfriend around 5:20 p.m. on Sunday immediately we started talking to Gigi. We both presented our insurance cards and ask questions about copay and etc...all was good. We started looking around to get a feel of what brand and style glasses we liked. Immediately, a lady named Emily who never greeted or ask to help us started lingering next to us. At first I was like maybe she's working so to make sure I watched her she was only next to us and they were 4 other people on the floor. Annoyed I ask her why she was following us around and the correct thing to do is offer customer service instead of assuming black patrons are stealing. She smiled said okay and I informed her corporate will definitely know about her behavior towards us she replied thank you. The craziest part is my boyfriend is an officer with Orange County and I'm an retail executive I'm a stickler about customer service. I informed Gigi the assistant manager about what happened and she told me Emily was one of her best employees I ask her to pull the tapes and coach and develop her on what she did wrong. I can't stand the staff, here. I spent $900 total on glasses, but ended up having to return a pair because the shape of the lens distorted my vision. Matt, one of the staff, refused to give me a refund because I did not have the paper copy of the receipt. I lost the copy. I called Lenscrafters corporate to ask whether I needed the receipt to return- they were explicit that I did not. Meanwhile, I now have to make another trip back to the mall to attempt to return these glasses a second time. This individual has an off-putting personality in general.
