Earliest she could do the simple procedure was April 27th. Got a call April 21st they were cancelling by appointment because Dr. Cho had to the evaluation . No explanation why she could not use Dr. Steelde's findings. First available appointment Aug 21st. then maybe 3 more months after that they could schedule the procedure. This is just NOT acceptable. My husband had the YAG procedure and it took maybe 5 minutes or less. Contacted Lake Eye and they can do it next week.

In your consultation you learn about Lasik and PRK, meet with your Optometrist to ensure Lasik or PRK is right for you, and answer any questions you may have. If you choose to proceed, map out your payment and schedule your procedure. The procedure, very mild discomfort for less then 5 mins. Whole procedure is done in like 15 mins... 15 mins to clear eyesight! When you leave you are given meds, vitamins, eye drops to aid your healing. After the procedure, go home, take a nap or lay down in a dark room (or wear shades) with music, audio book, or podcast for a few hours. Your eyes will burn and sting but it's tolerable. We were referred to this office by our pediatrician, and I'll admit I was a little nervous since I didn't know what to expect. I wasn't sure how they conducted eye exams on kids under two, and I wasn't sure how my son would react. All the staff members we encountered were kind and clearly communicated the process & next steps. My son has a minor astigmatism in both eyes, so they ended up needing to dilate them first. You can tell their team is well versed in working with children and they had a friendly, calming presence. My son actually did so well and was relaxed the entire time. Didn't even shed a tear. He received the eyedrops with ease and then we had to wait about 20 minutes for his eyes to dilate before seeing the doctor. The test consists of a series of lights and he was actually pretty mesmerized. Ultimately, we left with good news that he won't be needing glasses right away, and we'll come back again in 6 months to see if there's been any improvement. The cost (even with insurance) was the major bummer. They can't tell you how much it's going to be upfront because it depends on what tests they end up needing to do. So $300 later, this was an expensive preventative measure.

I had Lasik surgery on 1/25/07 to correct a lifetime of myopia and astigmatism. I have worn glasses…read moresince fourth grade, could not see the big 'E' on the Snellen eye chart. My vision could only be corrected to 20/40 with toric (for astigmatism) contacts. I could not be more pleased with my results. The screening process that I underwent before my surgery was extensive and extremely thorough. This was to ensure that I was a good candidate for Lasik, and to ensure a good result. The morning after my surgery (and my surgery was late in the day, at 4:15 p.m.), I was seeing well enough to drive myself to my follow-up appointment. I opted for monovision (one eye for reading and one for distance) and am now seeing 20/25, which is far better than I was seeing with my contacts. I highly recommend Dr. Parks and his wonderful staff. It's thrilling for someone who has suffered from extreme myopia for over fifty years to be able to see, read, and not have to use spectacles or contacts to do so. As a lifelong voracious reader, my eyes used to be so tired by the end of the day, and it is absolutely a gift to be able to read at length without eye fatigue. The girl at the desk said my appointment was cancelled due to being 15 minutes late, and they tried calling me several times. I showed her my phone where no one tried to call me. She said that was not her fault. she Did not try to help the situation at all. That's the rules and that's it. Well needles to say I will not be back nor recommend them. I have nothing against the Drs because I never met them. But the staff needs help in customer relations.

Cliff told me that the original driver - not Uber - sent to pick him up never showed. Then an Uber driver showed up but drove off. I was the third driver. All were arranged by his insurance carrier Wellcare. When I took him to the eye Institute, he was very concerned that he needed someone to stay with him. I agreed to do so even though I am an Uber driver. I assumed that once he was checked in, I would be finished. We waited between 30 and 45 minutes to be called to be checked in. It took so long that after 15 or 20 minutes I left re-park my car in an actual parking place. Because I was convinced they did not really need me to stay I started to leave but Clifton became upset; pulled out a lot of bills and offered to pay me to stay with him. I told him to put the money away and that I would stay as long as I was required. I again assumed that once he was finally checked in my duties would be over. When we were finally checked in the lady made clear that he would not be operated on unless I stayed with him during the surgery and indeed required me to sign a document agreeing to do so. Despite being a retired attorney, I knew how upset Clifton would be if the surgery did not go forward. He was a nervous wreck during the entire car ride, although he was trying to be friendly, polite, and talkative. My question is: how did the McGruder eye Institute and or his insurance carrier - Wellcare - allow a situation to develop where he was scheduled for and went to surgery without a person to sit with him and drive him back home after the surgery? I was so amazed about this situation that I briefly texted my three daughters to tell them about it. I expected my lawyer daughter to be upset with me for signing something agreeing to be this Uber passengers caretaker, and get him home safely. I am sitting in the waiting room as I dictate this waiting for Clifton to come out of surgery so that I can drive him home. Whether I will even do that as an Uber driver, or simply as his friend and signed caretaker, remains to be seen. When I left to go to the waiting room, he was third in line for surgery so that I'm expected to be here for another hour and a half minimum and then need to drive him home. Doing this required me to cancel a reservation with an Uber passenger I had for 3:15 PM. I have no idea whether I'll be available at 3:15 PM. I am happy to assist Clifton. I am outraged at the situation He and I were placed in by the McGruder eye Institute, Dr. Beneke, and Wellcare. Something needs to be done about this. This is unacceptable; ridiculous; outrageous; and every other negative word you can use to describe it. This cannot be a unique situation. Hopefully someone will bring a class action so that patients (and Uber/Lyft drivers) are not placed in this position again.

I've gone to Dr Aziz for years, but the service continues to get worse. I was there two weeks ago…read more I commented to the technician that they didn't seem to have the same cleanliness measures that they use to have, She said that they wipe down the equipment. The next day I got a huge stye in my eye that still hasn't completely cleared two weeks later. But that's not the topping on the cake. My husband--who isn't very good about making appointments with Dr's until there is a need--got something in his eye that is causing him a lot of pain. He called and they turned him away, saying he hasn't been there in two years. I'm super tired about Dr's not caring about patients, but rather their own bottom line. So this office is another office that just plain doesn't care. Oh... but there is more. My mother had her cateracts done by Dr Aziz at least 10 years ago and still has trouble with her eyes, then my father's had his cateracts done by Dr Aziz and sees worse now than he did before the surgeries. I do not recommend this office or Doctor and I am super disappointed with the whole situation.
