The wait was minimal and I was in and out of the office in less than an hour. Everyone form the front office to Dr. Chriss was helpful and understanding. I had to call to reschedule my follow up and again, it was no problem and I was able to get in a few days later. They also have an optical service in house so I have switched to their office instead of popping in to see whatever doctor happens to be at Lencrafters.

Once I met him I no longer felt like a number or a means to an end. I decided to move forward with the surgery and could have not been more reassured prior to the procedures or happier with the results after. The care he took was short of unheard of, down to the drop schedule he provided me. He is surely one of the best. I asked if I could be the president of his fan club but I'm sure there are others vying for the same spot. Thank you for your time, kindness and expertise. You are very special and I hope your students learn everything for you.

I had my cataracts surgery in both eyes and I will say it has been the best investment I have done overall. Going from 2.5 prescription for reading and also needing glasses to see far away, now I can see 20/20. Best experience ever, always receiving the best care from Dr. Patel. He personally called me to see how I was doing before and after the surgery of each eye. He was always willing to answer every question. When I went for surgery I was sure of what I wanted and what to expect. The results were outstanding and far better than I expected. The staff was awesome! A+++

The person who retrieved my medical record also wrote down my prescription numbers reversed, leading to an additional 20 minutes in the exam and some psychological stress over how confused the Dr was! Phoned 3 times leading up to appt, no one answered. Finally received a call 5 minutes prior that the Dr is running 2 hours behind schedule. There are warnings all over the place saying they'll charge you a late fee. 2 hours. It took 20 minutes to get checked in--you have to write your name down and wait for the front desk to do so. Most staff in plain clothes, no badges, lanyards, or anything identifying, so it's incredibly hard to tell who works here. Have been here an hour. Have almost been run down twice by busy staff busily walking very importantly. They couldn't find my vision insurance using the same insurance card as I always use for vision, and wanted in-depth information about it I've never been asked before.

At 10:40 I was called by the tech & went through vision tests. I was then shown to the subsequent waiting area where it is now 12:12 & I have no idea what is happening. No one from the facility comes out to offer an explanation or apology. I have never waited this long & at the 2hr mark, I may choose to wait no longer. I do not have all day to sit in a waiting room. The fact that not just me, but the other 12ppl here are being totally ignored is unacceptable & inexcusable. If this is not a one-off, I will be choosing another eye dr. Stay tuned for an update. So at 12:35 an assistant appeared & called another patient. Not me. I inquired how much longer was the wait time as I had been waiting over 2hrs. The response? Flippant & "oh, the wait is 2 1/2-3hrs. I told him he could cross me off. I went to the front desk & informed them why I was leaving & I would not be returning. I got to my car, searched another provider, & set the wheels in motion. What an epic failure & total waste of time!!!! Sad..... bc I actually like the Dr I saw.

It was an extremely unpleasant way to begin my visit and I nearly left based on her snarky behavior. One star. Fortunately things improved. Tech Shawn was so thorough and kind. He put me at ease and warmed my heart with his gentle nature. He let me know why he was doing all the checks and what to expect next. 5 stars Upon seeing her, about 50 minutes after my initial entry and preliminary exams, Dr. Kurzon was insightful and recommended a medication for eyelid that is new and could make a huge difference for my eye health. She departed the room a bit abruptly and another tech came in to lay out the tools for Dr. Kurzon to perform an in office procedure on my eye. 5 stars. I then waited for the doctor to come back, about 15 minutes. She did the procedure, then let me know verbally what I'd need to do the rest of the day and for about a week, plus pickup prescription at the drugstore. I wish it had been given to me in writing, as I was pretty anxious at the time. 4 stars. Checkout was clipped and professional. 4 stars. TL/dr: Dr (and tech) quite competent, receptionist has terrible customer care behavior.

Refusing to complete a 5-minute refraction during an active clinical visit is an egregious waste of a patient's time. We walked out immediately.Patients should know that Winter Park Ophthalmology is owned and operated by Ascend Vision Partners--the private equity management platform built on the back of Orlando's Magruder Eye Institute. It is profoundly disappointing to see the historic Magruder umbrella associated with corporate scheduling tactics that prioritize billing volume and appointment churning over patient-centered medical care. We took all of Jim's ongoing diabetic monitoring, glaucoma screenings, and future eye care to an independent practice that respects patients. If you are on Medicare and need a glasses prescription, look elsewhere.
