I'm way behind on writing my review! I had my eyebrows done 6 months ago. I went to a social gathering this past weekend and several people commented on my "perfect brows". I brought up that I had them microbladed and they said how real they look.. or at least penciled in very lightly. It has been nice not having to worry about my eyebrows in the morning, or worrying about touching them up. Getting my brows microbladed was so worth it! The process and aftercare was explained clearly and thoroughly. I feel like I have a high pain tolerance.. there were some periods when it did hurt.. but after, it just feels like it's stinging. Liesl was kind enough to reschedule, after two cancelled appointments and two months of waiting, and extended the lower price to me. She did a nice job on my eyebrows and they look good. However, I am giving it four stars because it is much less of a hassle to schedule an appointment with other reputable places in Seattle. Also, she attempted to upsell me on some facials. In light of the fact that two out of my four appointments were cancelled by the salon, it seemed in poor taste to do this. They should also make it crystal clear from first booking of the appointment that a deposit is needed, instead of allowing you to make one and then demanding the money two days before the appointment. If you give this place a try, you will have nice eyebrows in the end. They're not as open to doing personalized eyebrows, and do actually stick with one universal shape. They are makeup artists, have a nice studio, and are skilled. read more

Great gem! Hidden right on Ballard Ave. It looks like most people come for the microblading but also there's an esthetician there, Mia, she is fantastic! Need a facial, a quick wax! Boom! Mia is great, professional, speedy and affordable. Always easy for same day appointments on weekdays. Sugaring is a the craze but it's slow, not really as great and, well, more expensive. Happy to have returned to the land of waxing after 5 years of sugaring. Check it out, it a cool spot that you enter through the cafe. They also do nails, gels, and hair. read more

Super cute space! Discovered it two months ago while getting coffee at Anchored Ship Coffee Bar. Decided to give it a try, as my past esthetician was retiring. I've had two Osea Acne Clarifying Facials with Mia. The whole service is amazing and super relaxing. It is a big step up from my previous experiences with acne facials elsewhere. My skin leaves looking better than ever. Mia is very knowledgeable and I'm excited to see where my skin goes on her recommended regimen! I definitely recommend! I'll try to update this review in a few months, as any skin care routine takes a while to see real results. UPDATE: I have been going every month for acne facials since my initial review and my skin is clear! I never thought I would say this, but I no longer wear makeup daily to feel confident in my skin. Context - I'm late 30s, my daily face wash regime is just water, with a weekly scrub (which I remember every two or three weeks). This was my first facial, let alone HydraFacial. I'm learning I need to take more care of myself. And thus my review.... Jennifer was awesome from the moment I walked in until I walked out, and I'm pretty sure continues to be. I walked in with my nerves going, having never done anything like this before, and within moments I was at ease. I'll be honest, having not done this, I'm not sure if the application of the facial product and suction/removal was the best it could be. What I can vouch for was, it seemed fine to me. I had a little in my hair but... I'm not sure how it's possible for that not to happen. Jennifer explained the steps, what was happening, what I could and should expect, and what could be discomfort and how to address it with her. Lovely communication. If I'm being totally transparent, I walked in thinking this was a one off or maybe once a year treat. I'm sitting here writing this thinking that maybe I should take better care of myself and set up something more frequently, and for me, that's a surprise I'm surprised about, and a huge part of that is due to Jennifer. Thank you! Did I mention it's been two weeks and I can still see a huge difference. I was expecting to walk out feeling gross, but I walked out feeling, clean. Like I should feel after having my face cleansed. Also my wife said I was glowing! I thought I would have to find a way to be pregnant to ever be called glowing. Covid - The Studio/Physical space. Great experience getting eyelash extensions for the first time! I booked a appointment online with Mia and went in for my first session. I got a classic full set and it took the full 2 hrs to apply. I'm sure for some the 2 hrs seem intimidating but Mia makes sure you are comfortable and is very personable, we had a great conversation. I am also confident that she is totally fine not engaging in conversation if you would rather relax and be quiet during the application. During my first appointment I told Mia I wanted a more natural look and the lashes turned out great. If you are someone who wants the no make up look it was definitely achieved. I ended up wanting a bit more so I went back for a fill after 10 days to get a little more oomph. I am super happy with the fullness and how dark they are. It looks like how my lashes normally look after mascara. Make sure you follow Mia's care instructions and as a lash beginner just air on the side of caution and be gentle with them. Price wise their full set is more expensive than you find elsewhere in Ballard but I really think the service and quality are worth it. I've had permanent makeup done on my eyebrows before, but it didn't take. In my first experience, I was in a back room in a strip mall salon. While the lady was nice, the procedure was painful and she didn't follow my arch line very well. Later, when I was getting my eyebrows threaded, the lady wasn't sure whether to follow the permanent eyebrow or my actual hairline. There's a difference from someone who just does permanent makeup and an artist. All that to say: Liesl is that awesome artist! Her studio is clean and simple. She takes great care of you while you're there. Her calm and professional manner is perfect to put you at ease. At first, it was a bit uncomfortable while she went through the first pass, but the second and third passes were a breeze for me once the numbing cream settled in. I was already prepared for the dark eyebrows for the first couple days so that didn't shock me and should not shock you. They will lighten up and get smaller I promise. The arches were perfect as Liesl does a great job making sure she frames your face just right. This is key people! Finding someone who knows how to frame your face with the right arches is everything. I highly recommend Eyebrowbaby. I had no idea how confident a good set of eyebrows could make a girl feel. My brows have always been very light and fine and -- thanks to the '90s era of overplucking -- sparse. My new dream brows look totally natural, from the hair-like strokes to the color that really complements my skin. Having a stronger brow makes me look younger, too, as the new brow line is a bit more lifted. Not having to worry about my penciled-in brows sliding off when I sweat/swim is a gamechanger. Very late review but I had a great experience! I got my brows done around May 2017 and they are still on 7 months later!! Liesl was very professional and helpful. My experience was a little painful but I think it's just because I have a low pain tolerance. But Liesl was very accommodating and gave me more numbing cream. The office/room was super cute and relaxing. My brows are fading however :( I workout and wash my face a lot so that could be why they are fading. I'm giving 2 stars as the salon itself was modern, clean and the staff very friendly. However, I got my eyebrows done today and they weren't done well. I have someone at another salon who usually does my eyebrows, but she was unavailable so I decided to give this place a try. The girl who did them was very nice, but it was clear she doesn't have much experience or just doesn't have a knack for eyebrows. She didn't shape or contour my brows, and while she did wax them, there was quite a bit of hair left that I had to go back and pluck myself.
