My husband and I have been seeing Dr. Ramde since before she opened Eye Lite - well over 15 years. That fact alone should tell you something. Dr. Ramde is warm and welcoming, but she is also efficient and thorough. The staff are very much the same - friendly, helpful, knowledgeable. We have been seeing Dr. Chu and Dr. Yuen in this practice. They clearly explain everything and conduct very detailed examinations. They are super friendly and approachable and make sure that all your questions are answered. Front desk staff and technicians are very courteous and good at their jobs. When you walk in you feel the positive atmosphere and that the people are happy where they work. I wish they had more selection in terms of frames. read more

i had an issue with some new sunglasses which were not purchased at eye lite. i am in los altos every day, had some time on my hands and stopped in to see if someone could help me with fitting them properly. the store was busy, yet the woman behind the counter desk greeted me promptly, and when hearing the reason for my visit, immediately offered to help me get fitted. i explained that i was not a customer of her store, only that my wife shops there when she needs eye wear, but that didn't matter to her. she sat me down, made two or three trips to the back with my glasses, heated them, molded them, and fit them perfectly to my face, all in about 5 minutes! there is not enough to be said about this level of customer (or non-customer!) service. i left with the best impression i have had concerning small shops in months. the woman who helped me, and i failed to get her name, would not accept payment for her services. when i told her i always wished i wore eyeglasses she said "oh, you will. you'll be back. you will!" and i had to laugh at that, for when i do need glasses in that eventual time, ill have my services done at eye lite, for sure. don't let the image of downtown los altos turn you away from such a small-town gem as this store. read more

I love this place. The staff is very experienced and they get it right the first time. I've had trouble in the past getting my lenses (progressive bifocals) to be comfortable, but this shop nails it the first time. They are always nice and patient, and prices are reasonable for the service level. read more

I had cataract surgery in my right eye a year ago, July 2011. I was told that I could get a new prescription in 2 months, which I did, but the new prescription was not correct. I went back to my former optometrist and my ophthalmologist several times, but both said to keep wearing the new prescription and I would get used to it, I could not. I could not drive and barely could walk without falling down and bumping into things. I started to get headaches. A friend recommended Dr Rambe in Los Altos. She was so patient and would not settle for less than what was right for me. She trusted my opinion and basically never gave up until I was happy. Now I can finally see perfectly again! Everyone at Eye Lite is friendly, personal and FABULOUS! I highly recommend Eye Lite. And, they have the coolest glasses frames too!!!! What more could you ask for? read more

She is through and very personable. When I was a starving student, a few years back she remembered me and didn't charge me a visit. Both my husband and I loved the service at Dr. Jabina's clinic. Dr. Jabina was very thorough, gentle, and understanding. I went there for prescriptions for my glasses as well as for contact lenses. She introduced me to some very comfortable options and was willing to try more till I was completely satisfied. I am looking forward to taking my children there for CRT. Customer service at its best: I walked in "Eye Lite Optometry" to purchase a pair of progressive glasses. I had bought 2 pairs at other optometrists' in the past, but ended up not wearing them. I was very skeptical that progressive glasses would ever work for me. Then I met Vicky. She promised me she would make it work. And she did. She spent a lot of time with me, looking for the perfect frame and glass shape. She took detailed measurements. I wore a first pair she made for a week, then came back with my feedback on what was not perfectly working.The second pair did fit perfectly. Vicky is outstanding when it comes to correcting vision, but she is also very sensitive to her customers' spending: she looks for all the ways to save us money. The front desk staff were very polite and cheerful, and Dr. Dong was absolutely amazing. My prescription was improved dramatically, and I finally got some contacts that don't scratch my sensitive eyes. I found Eye Lite Optometry 4 years ago when I learned that my kindergarten son needed glasses. I choose Eye Lite because they had the largest children's selection and not the same old boring frames. That was a great reason to go there, but it turns out that was just the icing on the cake. Vicki was so wonderful to my son. She had great advice for a first time parent and child with glasses. Vicki (and Maria and Silvia) know how to find glasses that look great on your face and match your personality. If you find a pair of glasses you like, but they don't have the color you want in stock Eye Lite will order the frames with no obligation to buy. They make it so easy. The entire staff greets us with smiles and remembers everything about us. We have had a great experience over the years with Vicki. Can't say enough good things!! The quality of glasses they carry is outstanding. As a rough and tough boy, my son only broke his glasses twice in 4 years. The staff at Eye Lite quickly and happily fixed them. We did go see the staff to have screws tightened and adjustments. All part of their service. At the end of this summer my son, now starting 4th grade, decided he wanted to TRY contacts. We met with Dr. Ramde. She was great in communicating and explaining everything about contacts (and the eye in general) to my son. Once the contacts arrived Maria helped us everyday for a week to get those tricky contacts into my son's eyes. They were very patient as it did take a week for him to get the contacts in his eyes. Dr. Ramde had to send away for another trial pair of contacts, which is understandable with my son's difficult prescription. Maria gave us plenty of cases and contact solution so we did not have to run to the store for supplies. In the end my son decided against the contacts. (he couldn't get them out!) But the entire staff at Eye Lite was supportive and enjoyable to work with. They were very supportive, encouraging my son to try again in a few months...or years when he is ready. I highly recommend them to people of all ages. Although my experience has been with a young child, the selection of eye glasses seems mostly for adults. I am sure we will return here even when my son goes to college! read more

Dr. Jabina Ramde is delightful - very thorough, answers questions in a way that makes sense to the patient (adults or kids), and doesn't push glasses when the needs is marginal. The office has a great variety of glasses to choose from, and the staff is really good with helping to pick out frames that fit your face. Eyeglasses are expensive here, but I don't know that it's any more expensive than anyplace else that carries high end glasses (they carry more reasonable frames, too). I don't understand how eyeglass frames can run 100's of dollars, but the cool ones all do. For the kids - it's also a few doors away from Baskin-Robbins. read more
