I went to Eye Lite Optometry today for help with my drugstore reading glasses. I wanted to swap stronger lenses into my favorite plastic frames. The folks there sorted my bag of old lenses and found those with the right strength. Then they ever so cautiously popped the old lenses out and managed to coax the new lenses in without breaking the cheap frames. This took at least 15 minutes of work, and I am ecstatic with the results! I really like the super light weight of these glasses and just can't buy 'real' glasses that I like as well. I asked them how much I owed them - and they said nothing!! They just asked that I refer people to them. So - this was not the first optometry place I had asked to attempt this. The place next to CVS at San Antonio wouldn't even try. I am so grateful for Eye Lite Optometry's efforts and would have been more than happy to pay them. This is just a rare business in this day and age - gets the job done and doesn't even ask for compensation. There were a number of customers in the store and they were all having equally pleasant interchanges and experiences with the staff. I recommend Eye Lite Optometry whole heartedly! read more

Eye Lite is the best optometry staff I have ever found. Great exams, great frames and great service. They also stand behind their service. When my glasses didn't seem right, the doctor took me back into the exam room, tweeted the prescription and ordered news lenses at no additional charge. I didn't use their medical / prescription service in person, but I am very pleased by the staff's service via phone. I was thinking of changing my vision insurance to EyeMed, and I saw that this store accepted EyeMed. I had a few questions about glasses prescription service, so I gave the store a call. A pleasant lady answered the call. Since my enrollment hasn't started yet, she can only give me limited information about the coverage. But that was expected and I understood. What I appreciated the most was her frank and attentive response to my questions about glass prescription for my super bad vision (-8.5 on both eyes), and insurance. If she is that attentive and nice to me, a stranger that she may or may never meet, I can only imagine how pleasant the service may be for actually paying customers. I'm very inclined to recommend this store and service without having even entered the store. I know I will come here for any vision needs. read more

I love Eye Lite Optometry in Los Altos! I've been a returning customer to this female run business for many years. I have purchased 3 pairs of glasses through them. They have a great selection of designer eye glasses and sunglasses. LA Eyeworks and Oliver People's, Kate Spade are among my favorite brands they carry. The customer service is great-- they are very patient and pleasant. I feel they are trained to find the glasses that fit for your face shape. I appreciate they were not afraid to tell me if a pair of glasses didn't look good on me! Every sales person has seemed to want to help me find the perfect pair. Frames are pricey here but there is usually a discount and insurance can lower your out-of-pocket price. read more

I recently had an eye exam here, and purchased a pair of glasses as well. This location is very convenient, and i really liked that they had Saturday appointments, so my hubby and I could go at the same time. Everyone that works here is incredibly nice. They are both pleasant and knowledgeable. Glasses are expensive, but no more than at any other small optometry office. With my insurance, i didn't' have to pay much. Although, i needed new lenses, and a second pair of glasses, and went elsewhere because of the cost. If your insurance is accepted here, i highly recommend them. I love Eye Lite Optometry! My old optometry office was fine, but I had heard good things about Eye Lite and finally decided to give them a try. I wish I hadn't waited so long. The customer service is amazing. Everyone is knowledgeable, friendly and so helpful. They have such a large collection of gorgeous frames to try and the frames are very clean! I have been wearing eyeglasses since I was 7 years old, but had the best experience today seeing Dr. Jabina Ramde O.D. First, instead of just using one line of random letters she used a paragraph that provided a context I could understand. In itself, that was such a relief. Second, instead of asking me to try to repeatedly read the size font I was struggling to barely see, she went to the next larger size and queried me until it was as crisp as could be. Then, lo and behold, the size I could not see before was also clear. Brilliant! Next, she put individual lenses duplicating this new correction into a holder/frame and let me "test drive" the new Rx by reading different texts at different distances. She used several methods no other optometrist ever has - but that make so much sense. I was really impressed. Previously I had been to Palo Alto Medical Foundation. The very competent OD I had been seeing for years somehow did not know that the Rx from regular progressive glasses would not directly transfer to 2-field office/computer glasses. I could not see clearly using the Rx I had been given. They were over magnified. Dr. Ramde immediately understood the problem before even testing me. Plus, Eyelite Optical has an excellent assortment of frames. When I found a design I liked from a company they carry (l.a. eyeworks) but that wasn't in the store, they brought a few designs in for me to try. Eyelite Optical is a little shop that you might not notice as being exceptional from just walking by, but in my experience, they are just terrific. read more

My prescription sunglasses lost a screw and I didn't want to drive back to Los Gatos where I bought them. I found this place on Yelp, walked in without an appointment - and they fixed my glasses on the spot with a smile and FOR FREE. Dr. Jabina was very thorough and great. I have no complaints with her. My only ding for this business comes with the office management. 1) i had to schedule my appt twice because the first one was completely on wrong date and time -- i don't come down peninsula on Fridays so why would i schedule my eye appt for that day; and time because they typically have a lunch break around 12.30pm which my original appt was on. So when i did arrive on the day I *thought* my appt was on, i was told that i was a no show? WTF? 2) the office doesn't scan documents and therefore doesn't email documents. We live in a technology driven society (hello Silicon Valley?!) and they don't offer this as a service? I was told they could fax (who uses fax anymore?) or send via snail mail. (really?!?) Ok -- enough of my rant. Dr. Jabina was lovely. And really, i will return. I ordered 2 Fendi glasses (eye and sun glasses) -- it wasn't cheap but I love designer glasses! read more

This my 5th eye doctor in this area and by far the best. The previous 4 include 3 optometrists and 1 ophtalmologists and none provided an exam as comprehensive as this one. They do retinal imaging and the optometrist showed me the pictures and explained them. They do visual field testing, and all the rest of the standard optometrist testing. The optometrist was Audrey Chu. She was friendly, knowledgeable and took the time to explain everything. I am happy with the exam and options and recommendations she gave me. The front staff was friendly, courteous and helpful. Front staff was an issue at all the other places I have been to, they were rude or made mistakes, or were confused, or didn't know patients' rights in terms of obtaining our medical (eye exams) record, or any combination of those issues. But not here, not to my experience to date. I have bought contact lenses and eye glasses and Maria was very helpful and I am happy with my glasses and lenses. The prices are similar to those at the other optometrists and ophthalmologist's I have been to, but the exam and service at this place were superior. read more

I won't be buying glasses there again because of a recent experience. My husband and I have purchased multiple pairs of glasses over the years. Recently when one of their glasses cases broke I walked in with the broken case asked for a replacement. They wanted to charge me $10.00 to replace a product that should not have broken. I felt belittled by staff for making the request - they told me each pair of glasses comes with only one case. Staff was condescending and impatient. I asked to speak with a manager - the front desk staff went to the back and came out and said, this one time only, they would make an exception and begrudgingly gave me a replacement case. The whole experience was unpleasant to say the least. When asked yesterday by a friend for a referral for eye care, I told her where not to go. read more

The staff at Eye Lite Optometry, in particular Dr. Yuen, have been a lifesaver. My younger daughter has had vision issues since she was 2 years old and developed a phobia of eyedrops and going to the eye doctor (she is now10). It had always been torture taking her in - until we went to Dr. Yuen. Dr. Yuen has been VERY patient, kind, and understanding with our daughter. Her kindness, humor, and great way of connecting with kids has been a miracle for us. My daughter continues to have a lot of eye issues and we are in the office often, and she LOVES seeing Dr. Yuen. I also feel that Dr. Yuen has taken extra time and care with our entire family to make sure our prescriptions are exactly right and really cares about the health of our eyes. We went to several eye doctor's before this and exams seemed to be much shorter and rushed. In addition to Dr. Yuen, the entire office is great. The other doctor's in the practice have gotten us in on the same day for eye irritations, styes and other eye emergencies. They also have a great selection of glasses and the staff is great in helping you pick them out. We are so glad we found Eye Lite and I won't take my family anywhere else for eye care. read more

Vicky was very helpful; not only did she quickly and confidently fix my sunglasses she also took the initiative to adjust the glasses I was wearing. I bought my eyeglasses here last year and will probably get another pair here soon. They have a very nice selection of frames including some pretty swanky brands and some more reasonably priced ones (though if you're really looking to save money, you may want to try other stores with a better selection of lower priced frames). One of the women who works here (I think her name is Maria, but I'm not sure) does a really good job of picking out frames that work for the shape of your face. She's very helpful but not pushy at all, she knows when to make suggestions and when to just leave you alone to try frames on and I've been happy with her suggestions. read more
