(Love Dr Utang Ekpo!). I've followed Williams eye care from when they were in the original Collin Creek Mall. Back then it was a one man show. It's long gone! He has since relocated to various areas. I have written a review on this business before. Somehow it appears to have disappeared. I've seen multiple doctors that have come and gone in this practice. Thus far all my favorite doctors have been female! They are more aware, they listen, and they actually will act upon a patients complaint. My complaint was my dry eyes!!! I could not keep enough refresh tears drops in my eyes for years. I go every year for an eye exam. Need to take care of your eyes and ears! Gotta be able to see to enjoy the beauty surrounding you! This Awsome person, Dr Expo, took the time to actually test my eyes and really look at them to justify my complaint! I went to my pharmacy and the script Restasis .05% drops was denied. Pfffft. My pharmacy sent a note to the doc telling them I was denied. Within 24 hours my script for Restasis was approved! Amazing! This medication is SUPER expensive. I have insurance and I was not willing to pay out of pocket hundreds of dollars. Dr Expo stayed on top of it and I got approval for a super expensive medication to fix my dry eyes which in turn improved my vision. I cannot be any happier. I felt results immediately. Went to see Dr Dewy. He barely said two words to me. I went in with eye pain. he asked me about 3 questions and told me the eye was red (I knew that much). He put some type of dye in my eye without telling me- just stuck it in my eye with no warning . he basically did nothing - ordered eye drops. he spent almost the whole time hen pecking his keyboard- one key at a time. I have no idea what he was typing- I don't think he has any idea what he was doing. i don't know if it was the room or him that stunk of cigarett smoke. it was disgusting. I was a current patient of this practice. I booked an appointment on-line for 9/26, got a confirmation email and then a reminder email a few days ago. When I got to their Fairview office, I was told that I had no appointment for 9/26 and that I was not in their system. The front office girls made no attempt to do anything about the mixup except to say I need to reschedule for a later date. So I did just that, except with a different practice. read more

Had my annual eye exam and they did a thorough and great job. All personnel are very enthusiastic and engaging.

Was disappointed this last visit. I arrived 10-15 min early as I always do as a courtesy when I make an appointment, I sat and waited. It was 52 min after my appointment time that I finally was taken back to see dr williams. I had to get to Frisco for another engagement with my family and was late for that. Doctor Williams was great! He apologized and tried to go as fast as he could! He even told the front office staff girls to basically comp me do what they wanted Bc it was his fault that he was so late. Well the girls didn't apologize and charged me the full $129. They just sat at the counter and talked about their family and cats and pets for an hour while I waited. Very disappointed in that. I was impressed with doctor williams professionalism and how he basically told them to not charge me because of the situation and lack of customer service but they did anyway and did not listen to him. That is what really made me mad. Did not feel my time mattered and me sitting there did not mean anything to them. FAIL Also remind you that I pay CASH for this exam each year because he does not accept the city of dallas eye insurance that I have which is Davis vision. I can and may go somewhere else and get a free eye exam if this is the service and wait time I have to endure and I'm paying $129. read more

Terrible experience. Wife scheduled two appointments back to back. One for me and one for her.Open arrival was told they cancelled one, cause you can't make two. Drove over an hour to experience the worst customer service in a decade. The assistant did nothing but argue that if we did receive two text confirmations we should have known one was cancelled. I have a few days left on my FSA and went by The William's office in Fairview to order additional contact lens. Some background: I have cats and I'm slightly allergic to them, so my eyes feel much better if I replace my lens every 2 weeks instead of every month. I discussed this need with Dr. Nwachuksu, OD, when I got my prescription last December. In the past, she ordered additional lens for me when I requested them because she knew of my allergies. Update to today: I needed to use my remaining FSA money, so purchasing extra contacts seemed like a very good idea. However, Dr. Nwachukwu is no longer with Williams Eye Care. So even though my year-long contacts prescription was valid for 2 more days (it is Dec 14th and the prescription expires Dec. 16th), and the previous doctor knew of my allergies and ordered additional lens as needed, the administrator now refused to place an order. When I asked for a copy of my prescription, she printed out form which stated, "Prescription is not being released because: Other: Already order 18 months of contacts." (request 1) So, I called 1-800-contacts to try and place the order, sending them the form from Williams that showed the dates were valid, but that Williams refused to release the prescription. They let me know that refusal to release a valid prescription is against the law, and gave me some helpful information -- but because the document I was given by Williams had no actual prescription information on it, they could not help me. I furiously called the Williams office and demanded a valid copy of my prescription -- but again I was refused. (request 2) So I drove to the office in person with a copy of the law, fully expecting that they'd give me the information. (request 3) I mean -- wouldn't it just be easier to give an angry customer a simple piece of paper rather than deal with her? But NO! The administrator met me in the lobby with her OWN printed out copy of the law, pre-HIGHLIGHTED, which said the doctor could limit the number of boxes that could be approved in a year. (Clearly, this is not the first time they've run into this complain, as she had this highlighted printout at the ready.) Realizing the total uselessness of any other arguments, I tossed my copy of the paper on the floor, laughed, and asked the receptionist (who is apparently well-known to Yelp users based on other reviews), and said, "Have you guys actually read any of your reviews on Yelp?" I then made the mistake of touching her arm (It honestly was one of those Texas, "bless your heart" things), to which she snapped, "And don't touch me again." With that, I said, "No problem. You'll be hearing from my attorney," and angrily walked out. As of right now: **even though my prescription is within the year expiration date and was requested 3 times**, Williams flatly refuses to release it to me. It is my understanding that they CAN refuse to order the contacts IF my original prescription actually says they will only approve 1 box per month. (Of course, I never thought to ask if something like that was in writing -- the previous doctor knew of my allergies so it never occurred to me.) BUT since they refuse to give me a copy of the original prescription, I don't know if that is on there or not. So the legal issue here is not if the original prescription has a limitation other than the expiration date which determines whether it can be filled or not. The issue is that Williams refused to give a copy of that original prescription to me after multiple requests. I do, however, actually plan to follow up with an attorney and push the issue. it is my understanding that I am entitled to a copy of my original prescription -- refusal to give it to me is illegal and Williams can lose their license for refusing. Even if that original prescription does stipulate that I can order no more than 6 boxes per eye, per year -- that does not mean they can refused to provide a copy when it is requested before the expiration date. I can also sue for attorney's fees, and any money that was lost in my FSA because of their refusal. I will keep you updated as the drama unfolds. Ordinarily, I would just be furious for a while and then let this go, but I don't think so this time. I have Legal insurance, so maybe this is the time to use it. There is just only so much ridiculously poor customer service a person can endure from vendors who keep us in "quasi-handcuffs" (cell phone providers, cable companies, electric company, etc.) ... and this may have been my last straw. read more

I had a really positive experience with my most recent eye appointment. The staff was courteous and helpful and Dr. Freeman was professional and very approachable. She did a great job of helping me inderstand my vision changes and was genuinely interested in and supportive of my eye health. I am glad I chose to come to this optometrist. They've have a nice office space and I'm sure the people are qualified. However I had a very bad experience. They do not like to answer your questions nor do they communicate well. 1) stated no spots for a week but then another receptionist next day claimed wide open spots 2) without informing-they moved appt up 15 min 3) dr assumed I was asking for more services for the price because she wasn't listening to question 4) when asked what is value of another item on exam that was extra cost to me the consumer, doctor asked me to leave and not do exam. Objectively, she was frustrated as well with the miscommunications but any doctor is expected to be patient and willing to listen. This is your health nobody else'. Be careful if any doctor is not willing to listen. You are not doing them a favor to pay them your money. This review is specific to the Fairview office only in Allen. read more

Very bad customer service. I paid an extra $10 to have contacts overnighted to me before a 6week vacation, the contacts came a week later. Then when I get back from out of town they tell me to pick up. I drive to Fairview to find office closed with lights off at 648pm. Office hours posted are 7pm, I also verified over the phone earlier today the closing time. Don't use this office for contact orders. Very poor customer service read more

I have been taking my children to see Dr Nwachukwu for 3 years. I was very nervous about my teenage daughters wearing and managing contacts because of the risk of infection, but she took time and made sure that they were comfortable with the whole process. I also have a 9 year old who now looks forward to seeing Dr Nwachukwu (albeit annually!) because she likes her a lot!! Excellent optometrist, excellent clinic. A+++++! Having just moved here from California I needed a new optometrist and I've found one in Williams Eye Care. From the first phone call I received nothing but excellent service in a friendly manner. The Doctor took the time to explain to me how over-wearing my lenses was hurting my eyes, possibly causing permanent damage! The Dr. I went to for years in California knew my habits and never said a word! The Dr I saw at W.E.C. reccommended I switch to daily lenses to solve the problem. WOW, what a difference! I no longer have to worry about remembering to switch them bi-weekly, in turn, my contacts are so much more comfortable to wear. No Itchy, red eyes...no foggy lenses, all the problems I was having are completely GONE! They also spotted that my old Dr. had me way over-prescribed....
