Review of Wylie Eye Center…read more I have been a loyal patient at Wylie Eye Center for the past 8-10 years, returning every couple of years for an eye exam, new frames, and the same type of lenses I've used for years. Unfortunately, my most recent experience has been deeply disappointing and unlike anything I've experienced with them before. This time, a mistake was made -- the wrong type of lenses were ordered. I realized the issue immediately upon receiving them and even called from the airport the same day to report the problem. It was clear upon review that they had ordered the wrong lenses. I requested the correct comprehensive lenses to be ordered, expecting the matter to be handled promptly. Two weeks and many follow-up calls later, I was finally told my lenses had arrived. When I went to drop off my frames with the incorrect lenses, I explained the situation to a young staff member, who said she would look into it. The next day, when I returned to pick them up, I was shocked to be told I needed to pay for the new lenses -- essentially paying for two sets, one of which I will never use. What's worse is the complete lack of communication and care throughout the process. No notes were taken, no follow-up calls were made, and the staff I spoke to the previous day didn't even remember me. When I asked to speak with the office manager, I was told she was busy but would call me before the end of the day. That call never came. After over a decade of trusting Wylie Eye Center, this experience has left me saddened and frustrated. The quality of service and care I once valued here seems to have disappeared entirely.

I liked a certain wired topped frame but I wanted the lenses to it to be bigger so I could get bifocals with computer distance on the bottom. He can do that! He explained to me the difference between reading glasses distance and computer distance. It turns out I use the computer distance far, far more than reading distance. His frame selection is good but he can work with any good quality frame and he'll let you know if your frames will work. Some guys will sell you you anything just to make a buck, Randy is the opposite. He'll give to advice about what will work best and has been doing this business so many years he really knows what he is doing. (My advice is to listen to his advice.)

I called this past Saturday and was told he would try and have them by 3:00pm and he would call me, NO call and of course my glasses are still not ready. Don't buy from this place unless you want to wait a good long while. Finally got my glasses after a month and they were not good! Left lens was scratched, metal on noise piece was bent and scratched, washers under screws were cracked. Looked like they were very used.

The other option was not able to get me in for two weeks so I opted for Modern Eye Care. Staff was friendly over the phone and in person. They also had a small play room where kids could watch TV or play which is a definite plus for those with small children. The Doctor was friendly and easy to work with. He got gave me an eye and contact prescription. They work with multiple insurances including Eye Med (mine). They also have a good selection of glasses and I think can order if you don't find a pair that you like. I fortunately was able to find a nice Prada pair. Sounds fancy right? I just liked the way they looked. I am due to pick them up next week along with my contacts so may do a follow up review to let everyone know how they turned out. Located next to Kroger over by the Wingstop and frozen yogurt place. So if your spouse is going to be a while, you can always grab wings or ice cream.

Went to cornerstone this year, I can actually see and they found retinal damage that explained my " fuzzy vision " I told schaker about. Had to get the retina reattached with a laser... At least cornerstone knew what they were doing and saved my eyesight. Next time, don't delete honest reviews because they make you look bad, that explains why BBB doesn't back you.

He identified the issue by comparing my old prescription glasses with the new ones that made me ill. I had another exam by a different eye doctor and Larry/vision works had the glasses sent away to update them with the correct prescription. I picked the glasses up yesterday and have been wearing them with no problems at all. I would highly recommend Larry and the Plano Vision Works location. Doctor was kind and great. Staff was helpful and friendly. Unfortunately, the glasses make me physically ill if I keep them on for more than 5 minutes. I went back the same week and they rechecked the prescription which said was correct. The doctor said that the bifocal line was off. Went to the glasses shop and they stated it was exactly where it should be normally and thought maybe I was just sensitive to the bifocals. TheyTilted the lenses and told me to try that for a while. I've worn bifocal lenses for 8 years, bought them from two different places and never had an issue. I have paid nearly $400 for eyeglasses that I am unable to wear!

However, a woman on staff (possibly the manager) told us to pull our masks up while we were sitting down literally trying on frames, which we found to be a bit unrealistic and off putting given that we obviously needed to see how various frames fit our faces without a mask covering half of them up. If this is actual store policy, a better and more realistic process needs to be worked out ASAP to accommodate customers' basic needs. After all, if people can sit down to eat at a restaurant for hours at a time without a mask, why not allow patrons to try on frames with their mask pulled down for literally a few minutes without being hassled?
