We have been coming here for hears. I have really good insurance through my work so that helps to afford the high prices. There are pros and cons of this place. First, Dr. Castro is excellent, skilled, and caring. Highly recommend. The office works to get you scheduled as quickly as possible. They have good availability. Appreciate the hiring reflects a diverse community. One gentleman who helps me adjust my glasses is just kindest most helpful technician ever. I really appreciate how he makes sure my frames fit well. Not everyone in the office is the kind and helpful. And one time, my family member passed away and I ended up being 7 minutes late to my appointment. They treated me so mean. I was nearly in tears but they berated me for being late. One staff member makes fun of me for my personal preferences. However staff have worked here for years so they must love their jobs. That says something for this business. read more

I've been a customer of this dentist for 3 years and they would not even let me buy one box of contacts because my prescription expires on 1/25/2026 and it is currently 1/2/2026. Since when can you deny customers who have an active prescription??? I live in Louisiana now and can't drive to Allen, TX just to give them an exam so that they will let me buy contacts. It's sad that a customer with a perfectly active prescription can't even buy contacts when they need them. read more

I have bought several frames from this place in years past when I lived in the area. They have historically had awesome styles. I moved to another part of the city and it's been a few years since I stopped by. I was looking for a new pair and stopped by today - the store was empty and I couldn't believe the lack of assistance to help select frames. Wow. I cannot say how wonderful this place is! Took my kiddos here to have their eyes checked and new glasses. The doctor gave me thorough assessment and reassured my concerns. The turn around time is ridiculously fast for glasses. And they were super accommodating. One kiddo wants new frames and the other wanted to keep her current frames. Even the hubs had new lenses made for a really old pair (dare I say vintage) of frames. And they were able to do that. The variety of frames they have here is vast. There is something for everyone. This place is SO great! Dr Wysinger is very informative and knows his stuff. I got 2 pairs of progressive glasses and felt like royalty doing it. He was the first one to truly help me with dry eye. Emailed on Monday to set up an eye appointment and never received a response. Went to the location today at 8:00 am where it says "Walk-In's Welcome" on the door, and they told me it would be weeks before they could see me. This place must be doing gangbusters business, because they are ignoring new business. They're literally turning people away at the door. I have bought two pairs of glasses here and both times the employees were super helpful and attentive. They have a great collection of all types of glasses and sunglasses, with name brands (if that is your thing). They always help me choose the perfect glasses, that I love. The first pair I had for over two years and wanted an update. I went back in a few weeks ago, picked out the frames I loved, and they were ordered and on my face in 7 days! I have seen Dr Castro here as well. She is very personable and informative. I couldn't tell you about the other Dr.'s here because I have not seen them. I like Dr Castro but because glaucoma runs in my family and I have terrible vision, I now choose to go to a specialist just to make sure if anything changes with my eyes it is caught in advance. Modern Family Vision is close to my house, has nice, friendly employees, and I would recommend them. They have always been nice and helpful! read more

We only filled our eye glass script here but the staff was very friendly and helpful with my 5 year old. He has really bad vision and they were great with him. We have used them 3 times. This last time, his prescription had changed so drastically that the ordered lenses needed some outside lab adjustments so they allowed us to keep using the new temp lenses until the newly adjusted bifocal lens came back from the lab. This was extremely helpful as he really needed to keep on something more current , script wise, temporarily while we waited for actual lenses to come back. High recommend for kids and adults. read more

I've used Modern Family for two years and will not be going back. Nobody I have interacted with seems to enjoy their job, very low energy and uninspiring. I get eyes aren't exciting, but I do like dealing with people who at least act like they want to be there. This is supported by the fact I paid for my lens in November, and had to call in January to find out what the deal was. The lady who answered the phone pointed out there is a note saying I was called on December 9, and they left a message. I checked my phone, they did call on December 9 at 11:40 but did not leave a message. I happened to be on a plane at that time, and never knew they called. This is the second time I had to call them to check on my order. My first pair of glasses was same situation. I would think they would care enough to make a couple of calls, or at least leave a message. Again ... no inspiration to do more than required. I did appreciate the detailed conversation my doctor had about my exam. When she asked her assistant to assure the patch would properly fit both eyes I was shocked to see the look of pain on the assistant's face. No inspiration. I don't like giving negative reviews to small businesses, and I really wanted to like Modern Family. But if they don't care enough to at least leave a message, or make a follow up call. I can't do business with them. read more

I found this place on my health insurance website. Everyone there was super helpful and nice, the person who started the exam, the front desk folks, the doctor, and especially the gal who helped me choose my glasses. I got 2nd and 3rd opinions from other people in the office so that I could choose just the right pair. I highly recommend these guys.. it was my first time there and it felt like I had been going there for years. They have a great selection of reasonably priced fashion frames as well. read more

Overal the visit was okay. One thing to point out is that they should tell you the prices for the exam. (Ex:contacts lens exam) The pricing for contact lenses are highly priced. Also kept going back to the store multiple times since they didn't inform by calling. read more

If you are actually foolish enough to go to this place, DO NOT GIVE THEM YOUR EMAIL ADDRESS. I haven't been to them in more than 2 years & I am STILL GETTING EMAILS FROM THEM. I click "unsubscribe" every time & have even replied to the emails with sharply worded "REMOVE ME FROM THIS LIST" requests & still they keep coming. Dr. Leazure only spent ten minutes in the exam room. She barely spoke to me and was annoyed because I chose not to have my eyes tested for glaucoma. She is not personable and I do not recommend her to anyone. If you must go to MFV, Dr. Castro is the only good doctor here. If you get an exam, get one with her, ask for a copy of your prescription, and buy your glasses elsewhere. I have been in five times since August for the same problem with the same pair of glasses. I was told over the phone, by a receptionist, that I could have astigmatism, however, it isn't documented in my chart so no one was aware of this...even if it had been documented the staff here wouldn't have checked. I have been coming here for ten years and all of a sudden the customer service is awful. The staff is lazy, rude, and not helpful at all. First of all, i wish i could remember their names so i could mention them in my comment 1 by 1...but i dont remember all of their names. I was there this past monday around 11:30, i was greeted as soon as i walked in the door, the girl was really nice and friendly. Filled out my form, and was seen by the assistant ( i think ) pretty much immediately, he took a look at my eyes and did a new exam (new to me) they offered (basically they take pictures of the back of your eyes make sure they are healthy and look for any problems you might develop if you dont take care of them). Took about 10-15 minutes. I was seen by Dr. Weysinger (sorry if i mispelled the name) within 5 minute, and got my eye exam done. I like the fact that he was a little personal, he asked me if i had kids, i asked him if he had kids, he said he had a daughter, i told him i had two boys 3 yrs, and 7 month old baby boy..i think he said his daughter was 8?....any ways, after this i was seen by another lady, she helped me out picking out my new frame. When i checked out, she went over with what and how much my insurance covered, which is nice!. My bill was about $920 (dont panic), i got new glasses as well as a 1 year supply of contacts ( 1 pair per month), she gave me a nice discount + how much my insurance covered = $490, not bad huh? I put $150 down and here's the crazy thing, they offer a payment plan!!! I been coming here for the last 4 years, been seeing by Dr. Castro as well, and i got say, this guys are always consistent and professionals on what they do.... so if you wanna go somewhere else, go ahead, but check this guys out first, and i can assure you... you wont wanna go anywhere else! read more
