WARNING * BEWARE * DO NOT RENT U-HAUL VEHICLES FROM ANBAR STORAGE IN WATSONVILLE * FAILING BRAKES *…read moreROBBED OF $100 I rented a 10' U-Haul from this location a few months ago and was issued a U-Haul truck with FAILING BRAKES. When we put our foot all the way down, the truck would barely stop 10 feet past the stop line on the street, which would leave us part way into the intersection. Nathtalie at Anbar told us to bring the U-Haul back and she did not charge us for the trip to Santa Cruz or back to Watsonville. Nathtalie said that "their truck brakes are checked and that at times they can't know when the brakes may have issues". BUT IN THE REAL WORLD... PEOPLE, ESPECIALLY COMPANIES THAT RENT LARGE VEHICLE TO AVERAGE CITIZENS SHOULD KNOW WHEN A VEHICLES BRAKES NEED TO BE CHANGED. We were planning to take this U-Haul over the hill into San Jose and could have been seriously injured or worse. Anbar should have sent an employee technician to retrieve the vehicle from us in Santa Cruz and had it towed back instead of making us drive it down the hill back into Watsonville with bad brakes. On another note, we had simultaneously filled the U-Haul with $100 worth of gas and NEVER RECEVED A REFUND FOR THE $100, which Nathtalie upon checking the gas meter in that U-Haul when we brought it back confirmed that we had filled it up and said she saw no issue that we would get fully refunded for the gas. Since then, I have made 3 attempts with the office on Ross Avenue in Watsonville (I spoke to both NATHTALIE AND MARIA) and have made 3 attempts with the FEILD SUPERVOSOR (SILVINO MORAN) after escalating my complaints, but never received the gas refund. I also had paid for insurance on the U-Haul rental which may have protected us in such matters, but it didn't help... Anyway, on June 27th I told Silvino, the Field Supervisor what had happened, and I texted a picture of my gas receipt to him. SILVINO SEEMED UNCONCERNED THAT THE ISSUE STEMMED FROM THE FACT THAT THE U-HAUL BRAKES WERE BAD, and he said nothing about the brakes at all). Silvino told me he would get the $100 gas refund to me, and that I should see it on my credit card statement within 1-2 business days. On July 23rd I texted Silvino stating that I had not received the refund. I did not get a response from him. On August 1st I called Silvino letting him know again that I had not received the refund and he said he would look into it... I never heard back from him. I just checked my CC statement again today, which is September 27th, and I have not received the refund. Early on in my process of booking this U-Haul from Anbar Storage, I was frustrated with their customer service and voiced my frustration. I found both Nathtalie's and Maria's responses to my concerns to be very rude and unprofessional. Toward the end of this fiasco with Anbar Storage, Maria at one point angrily told me to stop threatening that I was planning to leave a review. It has taken me a few months to submit this review because I was moving, busy, and awaiting a response and refund from the field manager, which never came, but I think it was important to let people know that ANBAR STORAGE IN WATSONVILLE LET A U-HAUL TRUCK BE RENTED WITH BAD BRAKES AND ACTED UNCONCERNED. Please pass this info along to all your friends and loved ones so they can be safe driving these huge trucks. I plan on submitting this review to all social media outlets, such as google reviews, YELP, etc., and to U-HAUL's Corporate Office itself in hopes of getting this message out.

We selected a 3rd floor unit far from the elevator, inconveniently located, specifically because of the better price which was $99/month for the first 3 months then $199/month thereafter. My mom just realized they've been charging her $111.50 these first 3 months so she called and they told her that was always the price and that it'll go up to $223 next month. I can literally go on their website now and still see the $99 first 3 month special then $199 after. Our price that we rented for which they claim isn't the case is literally STILL ON THE WEBSITE. I would like to provide detailed feedback regarding a recent experience at PostalAnnex, as what…read moreshould have been a simple drop-off turned into nearly two weeks of confusion, rerouting, and unnecessary frustration. On the same day, I brought in two items: 1. A return package intended for the merchant recipient 2. Another package intended for Amazon Both items were dropped off, scanned, and accepted at PostalAnnex. However, both were mishandled: * The return package meant for the merchant recipient was incorrectly delivered to Amazon. * The package intended for Amazon was somehow delivered back to my home instead of to Amazon. These were two separate items, dropped off at the same time, and both ended up at completely wrong destinations, something that should never happen. What made the situation significantly worse was the complete lack of support from PostalAnnex once the issue surfaced. When I contacted Sanjay, I was not offered any assistance, investigation, or sense of accountability. Instead, he immediately distanced himself from the situation and sent me the following message: "The drop off service is offered as a courtesy to our customer. The packages are handed off to the respective carriers. Please file a claim online at usps.com. We do not insure the drop off package's contents or value. The receipt itself has the terms and conditions." -- Sanjay This response was dismissive, particularly considering that both items were scanned and accepted at PostalAnnex, a step customers trust precisely because it is supposed to ensure accuracy and responsibility. When I spoke with USPS, I was told the matter needed to be addressed by PostalAnnex, since that is where the items were physically processed. Yet PostalAnnex declined to assist in any way, leaving me stuck between two parties, each redirecting me to the other, with no ownership taken by the location that actually handled the drop-off. The only support I received throughout this ordeal was from the customer service representative at the merchant recipient, who had no obligation to help but still guided me through the situation and helped ensure a resolution. What should have been a quick, routine drop-off turned into a lengthy, stressful, and avoidable two-week ordeal. I want to highlight one important caution for other customers: PostalAnnex's receipt contains terms and conditions stating they do not insure or take responsibility for drop-off items. Most customers likely overlook this, but based on my experience, it is something everyone should read and understand before trusting this location with packages that matter. I genuinely hope PostalAnnex takes this feedback seriously and improves accountability, training, and overall support, especially when errors clearly originate at the drop-off point.
