I have been storing my wines, both purchased fine French Burgundies and Rhône wines as well as wine from a winery I work for (Armida) here at this Aptos location for over 15 years. During that time. I've also began making my own wine which. I now store here in some volume. So, I've gone from a modest ten case locker to a much more ambitious 300 case locker which lets me move around and access all the wine I load into it around bottling time, and as I still purchase commercial wines. Let me assure everyone that those 2005 Burgundies and Chateau Neuf du Papes and other long term gems are rewarding me now by virtue of proper storage. I'm so glad that my investment in storage and patience is paying off so reliably!! Woohoo! Same goes for the great Armida Zins and Pinots I've stored for 5 years, or 3. If you are serious about accumulating fine wine and proper aging for the near, medians long term future, forget the home wine refrigerator strategy and remotely store your wine properly. If there were more than 5 Stars I would give them more stars! The facility is clean,I mean CLEAN! Extremely secure and very close to my home, which is a bonus. The units are reasonably priced and they have accessories for tenants to use to make the job easier! My favorite part are the employees Audrey is always helpful, has a laugh and answers ALL of my annoying questions :) I am never afraid to be there working alone. The owner, Ro has created a stellar storage business and could not be more pleasant to deal with even during a high stress moment of having my shipment of an entire house arrive a day late. She was cool as a cucumber and a pleasure to talk to. I have had to use storage units in the past, but this is by far the best! I I rented a storage units at store more America. Joe, the front desk guy seemed very nice. Took my intake and told me I would be rebated once I checked out. I only needed to store my things for a very short period of time and made this very clear. He said no problem. Just make sure you call and advance and will rebate you for the rest of the month. Come to find out after removing my things. I never received a rebate. I called. Spoke with Audrey, the manager, and she informed me that there was no rebates. I explain to her that Joe told me there was. She went on to discuss this with Joe who said he never met me even though my information was on the paper and I'm the one who signed the storage unit said he spoke with my boyfriend, not me at all. Audrey then called me back stating that she had to believe her employee over me even though all the documentation was signed by me. I honestly believe that something should've been done. She was very rude and dismissive. I will never store my stuff here again. My experience was in confidence, straight out, lying and rude. I guess their policy is to cover their own asses rather than take care of their customers. read more

During my lifetime, I've used many storage facilities. Store More America is, by far, the best facility, I've seen! The employees are courteous, helpful, and professional. RATS!!! I have been at this facility for over two years. I moved out of the area, so it was about 4 months from when we left to when we came to empty the unit. When we arrived it was infested with rats. The floor was covered with droppings, there was urine everywhere and they had literally eaten through the furniture and books. Almost everything was ruined. I paid to have it stored so it would be safe. They destroyed almost everything. They owners acted surprised at first and said they would do something because of all the damage and then a few days later they were so gutless, they had their employee call back and say they don't feel like they had a responsibility to keep it safe or vermin free. They were too busy to call, they were on vacation. If you have stuff there, get it out, because they are infested and the owners have absolutely no intention of doing anything when your stuff is ruined. I wouldn't be surprised if they already knew and they just don't care. Absolutely typical for Santa Cruz area. Save yourself their overpriced fees and don't bother. read more

Ro and her staff are amazingly helpful and courteous. We had storage in a new building. The facility is always maintained immaculately clean and very safe. Never a worry. They keep carts and dollies available to make moving easier. We were on the 3rd floor but the ease of equipment and large elevator made it as convenient as the first floor. This is the best car rental experience I have ever had and these people literally go out of their way to give you the best prices and service possible. In addition they are just fun to chat with. Wow this self storage business is incredible. I have never seen such a neat, clean and safe place to put your stuff!! They not only have warm, friendly service but the environment is superb. Our unit was on the 3rd floor (which I totally recommend) and it was clean and warm, which meant nothing had to be wrapped. Most storage units are freezing and damp. After 6 months nothing in our unit was ruined! Store More America in Aptos is the place to keep your most precious items during a move or anytime! Thumbs UP. Above & beyond when it comes to customer service. Employees go out of their way to be helpful and accommodating to customers. Considering the bad experience I had at their location in Santa Cruz, I was happily surprised to realize not all of their locations have rude employees. This particular location I found exceptional. First few months were very positive. Friendly and helpful personnel. Then a major on-site construction project (massive retaining wall behind the building) was begun. Each time I went there to access my storage unit, I was met with construction equipment and materials blocking my passage. Not impossible but inconvenient, while waiting for a path to be cleared. I could've lived with this if it weren't for the fact that the contractors vehicles were parked in front of the access door to my unit and I had to find the driver and ask them to move. Their attitude seemed to be one of entitlement and irritation at having to accommodate a paying customer. Of course, none of this is a reflection on the personnel (Blanca, et. al.), who have been nothing but professional, but rather on the management who must have done a poor job of setting up the ground rules for the contractor. read more

I am a past employee of one of their competitors. In February, I needed some space for about 3 months - dishwasher flooded kitchen and dining area. I had made plans at the Aptos facility since it is literally down the street from me. Having received numerous solicitations from Store More stating they would honor pricing of the same size unit from their competition. I went in with the Public Storage coupon as a reference and was told by the owner/manager (Roe) that I should accept the Public Storage offer. I was shocked. It turns out it was not because they didn't have the size unit available, she had just made up her mind NOT to rent to me. I actually waited a few days and called the Soquel facility. I made an appointment and was told they had a unit for me. After driving there, the customer service person was on the phone and was again told NOT to rent to me. The company is now offering three months for the price of two at all facilities except the Aptos one. In order to store my items, I rented a unit at Rob Roy mini storage and promptly paid for all three months in advance. While the worker bees at StoreMore were quite friendly, management has refused to speak with me on three occasions. Shame on Roe for promoting a 'local business' and offering coupons that aren't or in my case won't be accepted even though valid. As another yelper wrote, it appears like a scam. You should also NOT put your employees in the middle of any conflicts you may have with potential customers, in this case me. read more

Don't do it, stay away, beware, go away! How many ways can I say this place is wrong? The manager Roe will leave you messages on your voice mail that they are preparing to sell your property at auction if you don't come pay(2 weeks late, not a month), $20 a week for every week you don't pay. I had a fair and clear conversation that I'd be in the following week to clear my storage unit and pay my balance with another employee, then came the calls form Roe, then a 20 min argument about how much I owed and how they were giving me a break and how I never made my second month payment and then when I asked her to double check that, while saying no, no, no, she found the date and amount and quickly changed to the late fees, then obviously she came to her senses and said ok just pay the one week late fee and then it was over not before she confronted me when a I arrived to grab one last item and clean my unit out and followed me and then wouldn't let me leave without talking to her and accepting her apology..... read more
