The cancellation policy is a an absolute trap. You have to be there on the exact day to remove your lock and do a walk through. One day before of one day afterwards and you will be charged another month. I went in and signed the intent to vacate, and was suggested to by the employee at the front desk to leave a key for my lock so they could remove the lock when necessary. All the notes of our discussion were written on the intent to vacate note. Per their 10 day rule. And still they charged me for another month. I had already PREPAID the month and I was 3 weeks before the renewal day of that month. So don't trust them if you can be there on the Exact 10th day NO EXCEPTIONS. Whatever they tell you when signing up IS A LIE. Totally False.!!!!! Use someone else, unless you are local and have all the time in the world. I used them cause I wanted to use local and help out the small business. I'm local. read more

Service, quality, value, kind, and respectful. A business of integrity. Thank you for your service.

i came in the middle of the ending of a marital situation, Lots of stuff and stress. Rob Roy was so helpful in letting me pick the locker location i wanted and type of locker. The video surveilence and the morning and nightly security gaurds that open and close the place add safety to early or late visits. Did i mention the beauty of the grounds and cleanliness of the lockers. Friendely helpful staff and uhaul rentals. read more

Rob Roy is an absolutely great storage spot. I have been a customer for over 20 yrs. Sadly I have to step away for a bit as life has hit me and the family a little tough lately. Ty and the crew have been amazing to me over the years and I very much appreciate them putting up with me all this time LOL. If life straightens out soon I will most definately be hitting them up for a spot again. Amazing people. You can't go wrong choosing ROB ROY read more

Rob Roy is an excellent storage facility. It is very well managed by staff who are always helpful and friendly. The owner, Tye Tyson, has made huge improvements in the facility since purchasing it some years ago from two pretty flakey owners. The place is clean, secure, well-lighted and safe--none of which was true under previous ownership. read more

Brad, and the rest of the amazing people at Rob Roy's Storage, went above and beyond to help me out! Not only were they extremely friendly and professional, the level of customer service that they exhibited is something that I have not found in quite some time. They worked with me to make sure that I got exactly what I needed, and even went a bit out of their way to do so. I could not recommend this company enough!! read more

They are Helpful friendly did what they say no problems I recommend them easy on easy off freeway

We had a storage unit for over 6 yrs. The Rob Roy guys were always professional and courtesy. The storage grounds and units are very clean and well maintained. read more

Rob Roy Storage is amazing! All of the Staff are welcoming and very professional. The facility is immaculate - constant upgrades, painting, even a beautiful garden across from the office. You're never "just a tenant;" you're treated as a friend. They have also added U-Haul rentals and have newer models, also, of course, in excellent condition. Highly recommend!! read more

I also got hit with a hidden fee after being there for one month. Talked with the owner on the phone and he even increased my fee to pay an additional prorated day because the office was closed. I highly recommend finding somewhere else. read more

Just a darn good place. great business and great folks.

This place is true Santa Cruz hospitality. Friendly, kind, helpful and understanding. Just what one needs when going through a stressful time. Thanks guys! You're the best!!! read more

Rob Roy has been good to me with both the previous and new owners. I have had a storage locker here three times twice with the prior owner and the prices were good but the staff was a bit cold and not friendly at least to me. The new owners came in and really cleaned the place up lots of brush clearing and added some landscaping and better lighting. The new owner has been very friendly and willing to work with his customers so that they can find a economical ways to store their things and he's not just about making a buck as is true with several storage spaces in Santa Cruz county. They have night watch patrols and 24 hour cameras posted through the facility. So if you're in the south county and looking for a spot to stick your extra stuff I would totally recommend checking with Ty and his crew at Rob Roy storage. read more

Came here for a quick U-haul rental and the staff could not have been nicer or more efficient. Thanks!

Don't go with these guys. They are pretty shady. I emailed them twice that i was moving out of my unit. Twice. I have both the emails to prove it, and i was payed up on my rent for my final month and they sent me to collections with a $525 bill! Not only was it shady to bill me, but the amount is unreasonable. They act friendly but at they end of the day don't trust them. Go with someone else. On a side note... the doors of their units have at least a one inch space under them and when i went to visit my unit i saw several mice scurrying around, including one that ran out from under my units door. Very disappointed snd frustrated with these guys especially after being a customer of theirs for over a year. Not the way you treat people. read more

Needed safe and secure storage in local Aptos. Reading reviews made Rob Roy Storage attractive. However, after visiting the site, we were disappointed. Old wooden buildings, broken fences on the perimeter, cut and missing barbed wire and no unit or hallways security made us look elsewhere. It appears to have at least 2 people living on site which we believe is illegal. The rental prices were out of line and so many empty and available units gave us pause. Something is certainly amiss. Office staff is the best part. Jimmy and Damian were very accommodating. However, we rented elsewhere. Why pay Ramada rates for a Motel 6? read more

I just finished three years of storage at Rob Roy Storage. I found the business to be top rated. It is secure, clean, accessible, well-maintained and staffed by great people. Ty, Damien, Jimmy and Edgar were all great to work with. I would recommend Rob Roy Storage to anyone. read more

We recently needed to empty a storage unit of belongings from the sale of our family home. Coming from out of town presented a challenge, especially during the pandemic, but everything went amazingly smoothly! Ty, Damian, and his staff were extremely helpful, going out of their way to help us maneuver the Uhaul trailer and answering all our questions. Super professional and friendly. Beautiful garden was a nice touch. We are grateful and highly recommend their services. read more

This storage facility is great! The new owners have really cleaned the facility up. No rodents & everything is very clean & cared for. If you need to use storage, I recommend Rob Roy. I have to say the folks there are friendly & will go out of their way for you. read more

The best storage facility in Santa Cruz county by far! They make you feel comfortable and safe with friendly and helpful staff as well as the atmosphere is very welcoming. I was afraid I would never find a place to keep my belongings and I actually I did!! Thank you Rob Roy Storsge! read more

Super honest and fair. I came to this place last minute needing emergency storage for 2 weeks. They did not have a big enough space for me so I was just going to rent two or three smaller units. They could have crammed me into the smaller storage units and I would have been happy because I was desperate. Instead, they sent me down the street to Aptos Security Storage just to check for a larger unit. It turned out perfect as they had one large unit left. Saved me money, time, and convenience. Very much appreciated! read more

Went in today saturday August 26th, first time. I had no idea this place existed. After arguing with my husband about the location we decided to let google lead the way, and that's how we found this gem of a business not only is it on a gorgous mountain side it has the best customer service ever the two gentlemen that were there to help us were a riot, great personalities. I highly recommend this place to all. read more

Storage is sometimes a necessary evil. I mean who really wants to pay to store stuff you aren't sure will be needed again. That was the case for me when we downsized our home. However I found Rob Roy took the pain out of it... reasonable , secure, helpful staff and the owner, Tye, is a pleasure to work with. This is your place if you need storage! read more

Horrible! Rented a Uhaul from them, extremely unprofessional. They didn't know how to use the computer efficiently took forever just to get out of the door. I would never recommend this place for your Uhaul needs. STAY AWAY!! read more

At first, I thought Rob Roy was fine even though the doors into each building were not always closed, but the issue for me was when I went to empty my storage room. At the gate I was stopped by the owner who said my truck was too big even though a vehicle of about the same size was seen leaving the facility (and came back later). There were also extra large motor homes in the facility as well. The owner was emotional and unprofessional and would not bow to the driver's calm request to back in and not take any corners. It took us 3 hours to do a 1 hour job. read more

As we were moving our nonprofit science class stuff out we were surprised by a $148 fee. All we could think of was a $13 rate increase from 6 months earlier but there was no explanation. Their list of our payments had none missed except for the invalid 13. The notice of the increase arrived too late to start when they wanted it to as later documented in their own email. We even documented on video they said it wasn't important, but we don't know if the 13 was connected to the 148. Somehow a collections agency sent us a notice for 148 with a veiled threat to our credit record. We started the process of going to court and found it was online and pretty easy. A lawyer friend told us about the (US Govt.) Consumer Financial Protection Bureau (helpful website- thank you, Ian). A CFPB complaint about RobRoy and the collector got the collector to excuse itself. Now were even bigger advocates of video, always using email (ph calls don't count as evidence) and robust home security systems. read more
