I had an urgent need to find a storage unit nearby and was attracted to the prices and location. The unexpected benefit was the amazing customer service. I was professionally guided through the process of selection and pricing, finding exactly what I needed. The facility is very well maintained and supervised, making the tenants feeling safe and their property secure. I absolutely recommend this site to anyone interested in quality storage service. read more

I have used a few storage units. This is one of the better storage properties in the area. Unfortunately, the rent has roughly 3x'ed in the last couple years, but it seems to still be comparable to competitor rates. read more

Been dealing with Brian (mgr) ---he is very helpful, courteous, pleasant with excellent customer service skills. The grounds are very clean and well maintained which inspires costumer confidence. If in need of a self service storage facility, start with this location/company. read more

I'm leaving this review to share my experience with the "manager specials" at the Storage Smart location in Soquel. About a month ago, I purchased one of the manager-special units. From the outside it actually looked pretty good and appeared like it might contain some worthwhile items, which is what led me to buy it. However, once I got into the unit, it turned out to be almost entirely junk. It honestly looked like a pile of garbage from multiple lockers thrown together. There may have been one or two usable items, but the overwhelming majority was trash. I mentioned this to the manager at the time and explained that I was concerned about what I found. I'm not accusing anyone of anything, but the condition of the unit made it feel like a lot of leftover or unwanted material had been piled together. The situation ended up costing me about $600 just to dispose of the junk and haul everything away. When I came back recently, I noticed two more "manager special" units that looked very similar. From the outside they looked decent, but the visible contents appeared to be the same type of mixed piles. While I was there the first time, another customer even mentioned they had experienced something similar. I'm simply sharing my experience so others can take a very careful look before purchasing one of these units. read more

Zero stars. This place only gets worse. They have zero customer service skills. The manager has been rude every single time I've spoken with her including day one. The rate hikes are way over 10% they will give the least a mount of notice 9 days for mine. And then put massive fees with it up for auction within weeks. DO NOT RENT HERE. The pricing is just a mirage. read more

Been a customer here now for four years. I have had a number of different units over that time. Anastasia and the crew there have been wonderful this whole time. I keep in mind that at the end of the day this is a storage facility. It's not the fault of those behind the counter when the rates raise. This happens. What is nice, is developing a working relationship with the crew and getting into the know of anything that may be happening at the facility. The staff here are not your normal facility staff. They are friendly, personable, and still get to business. If there are any issues they work to the best of their ability when they receive communication. The crew is a large part of the reason I stick there. read more

Let me start by saying this place is nice and clean. I can see it being a very good place for people to rent, however, the women behind the front desk is terrible. I am an elderly disabled man who just moved in a few months ago. I tried to get my brother and friends to help because I can't really lift things, and she was rude, asked way too many personal questions and demanded to see ID's. Now I understand not wanting to rent to anyone who is going to cause damage or be disruptive, but to barely allow people to get assistance isn't OK. I recently had surgery on my foot and have been struggling a bit, I used something to prop a door open and was told that it's not allowed. Understandable. But instead of a warning I was given a swift punishment of office ours only. Pretty harsh but I obviously broke a rule. When I asked how long this would go on I was told permanently. Now that is just ridiculous. She has changed the hours constantly to her choosing without giving me proper warning. I have heard other customers complain about her nasty attitude and heard her tell people to pack their things and get out immediately. There should at least be 3 days notice I would assume. I don't know how this place is in business still, so many units sit open because no one wants to deal with Anastasia. Zero customer service skills and it seems this place does not care about their customers. Don't rent here!! read more

I own and operate a local moving service in Santa Cruz county and have helped many of my clients move in and out of this storage facility. The grounds and lockers are kept clean and in good repair, the staff have been friendly and helpful when I've spoken with them. My observation is that this is a safe place to store your stuff. I'll be back soon! Mike read more

StorageMart - Business card - Self Storage Near Me - Soquel, California

Good customer service and gate hours with convenient location. Angel and Juan at the Soquel location are kind and provide economical deals for new tenants and customers like me who occasionally need to upsize or downsize their storage unit. If you want to save money and spare yourself of hassle when shopping around for a storage unit call these two gents and tell 'em you read my review. :-) read more

Entice you with initial reasonable rate then 200-400 percent increases. STAY AWAY! This company is awful.

Won an auction unit here, they expected me to clean it out while it had jars full of feces and bottles filled with urine and other biohazards reported them to OSHA.... read more

StorageMart - Self Storage Near Me - Soquel, California

This here place gradually went downhill. There are no bathrooms which, I get it, many people aren't the cleanest and don't clean up after themselves but due to this major set back (of no bathrooms) some people will pee in the elevator or nearby and the smell is horrible! Sometimes, the doors won't open because they don't keep their building maintained and due to much use, I guess the lock gets jammed. Too bad because their prices are probably the best. read more

StorageMart's website explicit states in huge typeset at the top of its homepage that its units are "Climate Controlled" -- this is a HUGE FALSEHOOD. I spoke with two representatives who both clearly read from the same internal playbook about how to skirt around this lie. In response to my request to each to confirm that the units are "climate controlled" each said "we cannot guarantee the exact temperature" and they said other things that still suggested that the units were climate controlled. When I pressed them (and trust me, it was like pulling teeth) to simple answer "yes or no" as to whether the facility/units have any kind of air flow control, each finally had to admit that "no" they do not. This is complete and total fraud by the company's website and by the way their employees are instructed to mislead potential customers. read more

Ernest at this location was very understanding and very responsive. He provided good instructions on the rental and advice. He returned my phone calls promptly and accommodated my situation in a professional and friendly manner. Their representative was extremely courteous and helpful. Their prices are lower than their competitors. I recommend this place and company! Cindy V. read more

I had to go help my mother move all her stuff out of here after her unit was broken into. The lock was not broken, so someone had a key. We purchased the lock from Storage Mart, so read into that what you will. read more

I have been storing my stuff with this Storage Mart for 3 years or so now and I'm glad there is new office staff who are awesome, super helpful and knowledgeable. This facility has an upgraded camera system and the loading bay door is now locked which seems to keep the place more secure. I'm glad the facility is cleaner as well. Feeling better about the security of my belongings. read more

OK so Storage Mart has cleaned up their act. Everything was resolved to our satisfaction and I expect things will go a lot smoother in the future. Better security measures, cars can be towed now if they are parked there illegally. Thanks for listening and acting Storage Mart ! read more

Nice guys, clean building, easy access...can't ask for anything more.

I agree with Mac M. I think Anastasia is both professional and serves the role above and beyond, and is a joy to work with at the same time. I also worked with Joe, whose patience and clear communications made the initial meeting/orientation easy and smooth. StorageMart should feel fortunate to have these two working for them. read more

Juan and Angel were super friendly and helpful. We rent 10 storage units a year for Girl Scouts and this team has been the best.

My wife and I needed a safe, reliable storage unit to store our belongings in during a real estate transaction. StorageMart has been great! The location is clean, feels secure with keypad lock and lots of security. Best of all the staff is friendly and even offered to help get stuff from our car to upstairs. read more

Angel is such an asset to StorageMart! Anytime I've had a problem he is there to assist and resolve the issue with the least amount of stress. Recently I had my bag stolen with all of my keys in it including the keys to my storage unit. I notified him and he told me it wasn't a problem at all to rekey my unit and it wasn't. I really appreciate him in such a stressful time! Thank you Angel!! read more

After closing with Storage Mart. I do not feel the same way as my 1st review. Anastasia and Joe are good representation of the company and go beyond. I just can't afford it and living $1000 a month income. When I asked to reduce size after downsizing more. It seems that I was to remain in existing storage at a much higher price. Or move one more time but I could not move to another if I downsize one more time. Tactics to not serve the customer's interest where no compassion as to issues at hand despite payment made. Is it to make money Storage Mart?! I do not know why Storage Mart did not call me when they broke my lock. They delayed their visit but I needed my key lock back. Was it so that they can check the tracks of storage area or check my stuff? I will check what is missing. Strange? read more

Really high prices. Random policy changes that they don't notify customers about and don't post on the doors. After hours and Sunday access might not actually be available despite the contract. Avoid. read more

I've rented numerous storage units in the past, always a drag. Must say this was the first time I was impressed and truly felt my belongings were in safe hands. The management team of Ernesto and Angel were top notch! Helped us combine 2 units into 1 to save on costs, and were always friendly and helpful. Would recommend to anyone needing extra space in good care! read more

Makes no difference to me know I lost all of my stuff because your staff neglected to tell me of the upcoming auction. After storing my belongings there for 5 years, I was 2 months late, spoke to them about coming in and paying the next week, nothing was ever stated to me about an upcoming auction, even when I specifically asked. People should not feel safe storing their belongings here ever. read more

I rented a unit here for ~3 months. This was the first time I ever use storage services. The staff was very helpful in explaining the process and extremely friendly every time I came over or had a concern. Ernest and everyone else in this business were very professional and truly costumer service oriented. I can't think of a reason why not give them 5 stars. Also, I saw how they handled different random/shady situations and was very impressed. Strong work, guys at StorageMart Soquel! read more

Angel makes my moving unbelievably smooth. Very friendly staffs. Highly recommended. Keep up the great work.

I've had storage units over the years in LA, San Diego, Italy and Austria. This unit is the nicest, cleanest one I've ever had. Building is well maintained, staff is friendly and helpful, and I'm paying less for a climate controlled unit here than most others in town that weren't. I almost didn't sign up here due to the confusing reviews, but it's very clear that these refer to the old management. Really couldn't be happier read more

Three years ago, Store More America gave me "first month free". The facility was pricey, well maintained and there was always someone in the office to assist customers. A lot has changed in recent months except the price, it's still high. As soon as Storage Mart took over management (March 2017) they "pro-rated" my payments to the first of the month, charged me $181 for that. Two months ago the lights stopped working in the hallway near my unit. I asked to have them fixed. Still dark and creepy down that hallway. If you think the elevator is slow, don't bother using the stairs because when you reach the second floor the door is still broken and locked closed. There used to be carts and dollies available. Now, if you're lucky you might find a broken one if you hunt around those dark hallways. I shared my concerns with the manager Ivan several times, and he seemed genuinely concerned. But when I went yesterday, much of the same problems. The office is short staffed and closes randomly throughout the day. Disappointed. Emptied my locker out and closed my account. read more

I've never rented a storage unit before but Angel was so helpful! I originally reserved a unit online, but once I got there, I realized I needed a larger space. Angel gave me a tour of the facility and helped me find a unit that was the right size and more easily accessible (I originally had a space reserved on the 2nd floor, no fun!). The unit was also super affordable compared to other facilities. Would 100% recommend! read more
