I usually don't write reviews, but Extra Space Storage is out of line. I got a letter last night from them saying they are raising my rent for my storage unit. Which I understand it happens. But the are raising my rent by $100. I've only been there for 3 months. They say it's because of inflation. This is a insane amount of increase. It's 1/3 of my rent already. I looked on my app and I don't see my lease agreement. I think it's TOTALLY unfair. I understand increase but 1/3 of my rent after 3 months is insane! Bad Business read more

I gave this place a 5 star review which has turned into a 2 star review . They increased my monthly rate $85.00 with zero warning. The facilities are clean and well-maintained, but that's where the good things end. Without notice, they will raise their rates on you every 4-6 months. I believe CA law requires 30-day notice of rate increases, but I could be wrong. Our rate was increased 91% the first time, then 76% six months later. We'll be packing up our unit this weekend and taking our business elsewhere. I strongly suggest that anyone looking for self-storage think twice before choosing Extra Space. read more

tripled in price while you have the unit. Scammy techniques they use once you're in and they know you can't just leave so easily so they raise it. Mine has tripled in price in three years, ridiculous. I also have homeless people who have a unit next to mine and they are always in and out storing items, and although I agree it's okay for the homeless to have a unit as I feel for them, homeless people also commit property crimes so when it's next to your unit you kind of feel like your things will be missing next time you open it. it doesn't make it feel secure at all. read more

Easy to rent a unit. They do require insurance but you can use a h/o or a renters policy if you already have one instead of purchasing their individual insurance. Prices are lower here than other places in the area. (I compared with 8 other nearby companies). They offer cheaper prices online than if you walk in or call to reserve a unit. Bring your own lock or they will sell you one for $18. Access to the facility is easier by right turn or otherwise you'll have to bypass it and make a u-turn or illegal left turn. TO Blvd in this area is a super busy street. The facility has good security with access behind an iron gate that needs a security code and you can park close to your storage building. The hours are broad so you can access the facility almost all the time. The buildings are clean/new and smell pleasant. Only caveat so far: Beware of the homeless living in the bushes next to the property. It appears that there was a little encampment in the bushes on the other side of the iron fence and this guy was hanging out there when we arrived around 6pm. read more

I've never used this facility for its purpose of a storage unit, but this place provides the perfect boxes. Why are the boxes perfect? The boxes are the excellent size to package you LP record collection. Anytime I've needed to make a move this is the location I go to buy these minty boxes. super easy to get your space online and Vanessa was kind enough to upgrade my storage when we checked in . It took little to no time at all . She made it extra easy to get our storage. This place is extra nice and like new . Great security system and hours are great .. to be able to access your stuff at 9:55 pm if needed makes it great in not having to rush to drop something or pick something up. Really nice facility in TO that is climate controlled, clean, and with good security. Renting was easy. They do good deals to get you in, but price does increase annually. 24 hour access. They are really nice when you come in (and ask for you to write reviews, that's why they have so many), but after you're in, good luck! I had fraud on my debit card and had to get a new one, and I've been trying to update my billing info. Their website never lets me log in, when I try to reset my password it gives me an error (I have screenshots), they never answer their phone, if you e-mail them it comes back too (also have screenshot). When I finally got ahold of them this morning, they charged me an $85 late fee and said they tried to call me 3 times - BS! They could have e-mailed me too, but nope! I had NEVER been late before and had auto-pay. Not to mention they raised the prices of the storage unit after a month or so in. Your stuff is already in there and it's a hassle to move, so there's not much you can do but pay more. Not trustworthy, not good customer service! read more
