Clean property with solid security measures in place is a good place to start. Dear Hubby and I acquired his mother's stuff / my mother's stuff, his stuff and my stuff before we ever got together, etc., etc. Though we've worked at downsizing, we haven't been as successful at it as we ought to be. Having Ace Self Storage as an option has helped us tremendously. We recently needed a temporary additional space after a water leak situation. The staff member who took care of us getting signed up for a new unit did a great job of explaining options and giving us the tour. Even though we know the property, the new space was in a different building and he took us there personally. They offer a move-in discount, which is makes for a fair value. Our goal is to reduce the need for extra storage entirely, but this may not happen while I'm still working full time. read more

I have multiple storage units at this location (I know I should just get one big one) and to be honest I am not the most organized person. Thank God Lili the manager at Ace Self Storage in Simi Valley is! She keeps me on track is an excellent communicator and is a pleasure to work with. She is a problem solver and has a ton of patience which I appreciated. As far as the storage facility goes it is everything you need. Clean, assessable, nobody living in the units. Gates always work seems very secure and is clean. I have shopped around and had other storage units in the past. I feel like the pricing is competitive especially if you get a move in special which I did. I needed a temporary storage in between moves. Ace was perfect! I got a very nice indoor unit. It was very clean and has temperature control. They have a dolly you can use to move and also have an elevator if you get an upstairs unit. The staff was very kind and courteous. I would definitely use them again if the need arises. I received a text message from ACE that said payment was due for my storage unit. I knew this message was in error because ACE's computer system cannot handle prepayments of rent. My rent really is not due until November instead of September. I thought I would have a big hassle dealing with the people at ACE, but luckily for me, Lili the Resident Manager, was there when I walked in. I explained the situation, and Lili had helped me the year before and made notes in the computer system, and she verified that her notes indicated that my next payment was not due until November. She made more notes on her computer and her calendar, and she said she would email me before the November payment due date. Lili could not have been more efficient and pleasant. I have met so many people at business establishments who are lazy, rude and incompetent. It was truly a great pleasure to meet someone like Lili who was courteous and very motivated to help me. Storage units are all about the same to me, but the people who work there make the difference between good and bad places. ACE is a good place because they have Lili who really cares about customer service. She is a wonderful Manager and a credit to the company. read more

This past weekend we acquired a boatload of furniture from my parents' home. In order to take in some new things, we had to put some other items in storage for awhile. This place is right around the corner from us and couldn't be more convenient. It's clean, close, and relatively easy access. We've had a couple of problems figuring out how to work everything, but otherwise, it's been very good. Our timing has been off in that when we've gone there and had issues, there was no one around to help us. However, they eventually show up, and we get it ironed out. Hopefully, we won't need to visit there often.......or, better yet, even if we do, we won't have any more issues ! The attendants have both been very nice. read more

This is my 2nd time using a storage facility in Simi. I was very hesitant before signing any paperwork with any storage facility after the last place. The customer service here is great and the facility itself is probably the best in Simi. They have options for indoor and outdoor units and the units are in great condition. The place we were using before had flimsy walls that were falling into our unit which was extremely insane considering we were storing belongings here. Moved out of 4 storage units for a big move in November/ December 2018. The storage facility is convenient, secured & clean. One was an outside 10x30 long term rental & 3 were smaller, outside short term rentals while house listed. I had rented them at different time frames so the rent was due on different dates. Lily was fantastic at helping me navigate units close to one another, helped me purchase supplies in the office & efficiently helped me close the accounts so I would not be charged extra. I'm so glad I called them and talked to Jessica the manager! I had a break-in at Public Storage unit I was renting and called Ace in an emergency to check rates and hopefully get a move-in special, especially because this was a last minute emergency move. The manager Jessica was so very nice, professional and helpful and went over and beyond to to make things work out with ease. I feel very comfortable in this location. The facility is very clean, very nice and has cylinder locks so they cannot be cut off (which is what happened at previous place). Knowing Jessica is the on site manager there makes me feel very comfortable and safe because I know that she will notify me at any moment about anything I need to know rather if it's about my account or unit in general. The staff is very friendly and helpful. The site is clean and easy to access. It is well lit both inside and out and I love that they have carts for us to use while we are moving things in and out. Prior to renting from Ace we tried to get a unit at several other locations, closer to our home, they were either to expensive, had no units available or the staff was just plain rude.
