This time I went in to get some information about shipping something UPS and explained that it was table that was still in the box, and heavy. It's always been a great place to grab small quantity packaging for my small business, but recently they've changed their sales practices to only sell in bulk. It's so disheartening to not be able to get what I need anymore. Especially if I'm unsure of the size I need, I could buy one each of multiple sizes to bring home and test out. I give Box City a lot of business. I frequent the location on Topanga more but go to the Valencia location a bit as well. Usually the service in the Valencia location is good. But, in the past 6-months it's gone down hill. I visited the Valencia location a few months back and ordered well over 150 boxes. I told the team member there my order. He did not want to grab the boxes for me. He wanted me to haul 150 boxes to the counter. Wow. Unprofessional! I went in today and same poor service. Even the manager there today displayed poor client service. I was astonished how you can give such poor service in today's competitive business market. Box City is my place for boxes. They have a great selection and the staff are helpful. You can browse the clearly marked aisles for the exact size you are looking for. Way more sizes than any moving or moving truck store. The prices are good and if buy more like in a bundle you save more. If you need help the guys are there to help. I'm severely disappointed in the end result that my family got. First of all, the shop asks for a lot of personal information that I don't think is necessary at all. Between a copy of your ID and a copy of your credit card, that seems too sketchy. No one just flat out trusts anyone with that kind of information unless they're store regulars or there's no other choice. You really should avoid ever doing that if you can. The manager was not willing to give us an alternative. Second of all, I pre-packed everything before they took it into the back. Everything was neat, tidy, and organized. I spent a few hours at least making sure everything would be perfectly fine by the time it got across the country. They told us that sending it in fewer boxes would cost less and they would pack it for us with no problems. Unfortunately, my family opened the boxes on the other end and clothes were stuffed into the boxes as padding for very fragile items. We now have to spend more money on clothes being washed or dry-cleaned because they did not take proper care of them. One of my sister's fragile items (a bonsai tree that lights up) is now broken because they did not pack it correctly. Getting boxes here is no problem, but I would not ship from here unless you've packed everything yourself and you're willing to spend the money to ship every box individually. What boxing container merchant and UPS shipper charges $17 to pack a small wireless router into a box and then has the gall to charge you $12 UPS shipping to Riverside? Box City Santa Clarita, that's who. Now let me step back: I've been using Box City Valencia for at least 7 years to ship items I sell on eBay. The staff has always been courteous, quick, helpful, and I've never had an item damaged once the buyer received it. Just months ago, it only cost about $5-7 to have an item packed in a new box with standard protective shipping material. So what's changed? They're still friendly etc, they just want your wallet. All of it. $17 to box up a device that's about the size of a large paperback book? Are you kidding me? When the clerk told me the price, the look of shock on my face must have made an impression on him because he immediately dropped the boxing price to $12. But that only made the pricing feel all the more arbitrary and unreasonable, so I walked out. I'm afraid I'm going to have to find a new box vendor and shipper. This place has become a total rip-off. They have a sign that says "Under New Management" so perhaps that explains the change. Anyway, avoid if you can. read more

As I am writing this review it is 4:13, 13 minutes after closing and the customer I saw in there first is still inside.
