The…read moreworst experience was Armstrong Movers who left us with unpacked boxes so as to catch their plane, This recent move we paid FL Pro $2,800. to pack and unpack (I found some unpacked boxes stacked in back of walk-in closets) they moved us across town to another assisted living apt. I packed up all our breakable antiques except 2 pieces of English art pottery. They were a 12" high Baby owl and a baby raccoon. I found them on the floor unwrapped with a bunch of pictures (we also have found the glass on some of them broke). The ears on the raccoon were chipped they allowed me $25. credit. Most of the power cables on printers, computer and lamps were pulled out and not packed with the device. They came back and found one of two I could not find. I found the last one today. They are very friendly but the young men are either poorly trained or do not care. Of course we find that in all lines of work nowadays.

Turns out not everything did fit - about 20 boxes had to be left along with several loose items (step stool, vacuum, etc.). I am having to make a return trip to Florida with a rental truck to go get the remainder of our items. I called the company and asked for the owner to call me regarding this situation, and I never received a phone call. It is costing me money out of my pocket: a hotel room, gas, and my time to go get the stuff that they assured me would fit in the truck. It was a definite gross miscalculation on the owner's part. In addition, we sold two large dressers and an ornate saddle that we said we're going on the truck so we should have freed up quite a bit of room and it still didn't fit. (We did not add anything to the move once the estimate had been done.) The next issue was with the deposit - after the owner came and gave us the estimate, he asked me to stop by the office with a credit card to pay for 50% of the move. I went to the office and my credit card was declined twice - no idea why. At this point, I wrote them a check. When I returned home, I called the credit card company who assured me that the charges did indeed go through, and I was given authorization numbers for the charges. They said the charges absolutely did not go through, but as soon as I got my credit card statement, I looked and sure enough, we had been overcharged twice as the two charges did go through. The way this was handled seemed very much like a scam. Company did refund us for the amount of $3000 - the money came out even in the end. The good things I have to say are that everyone in the office is extremely nice and things were addressed in a timely professional manner. The people that actually physically moved us were wonderful and were compensated generously for the hard work that they did - they sent a good moving crew.

Now for the bad. They ruined my sofa, I thought they put furniture on top of padding so it doesn't get grease on the fabric? Black grease on the side of the sofa. Second thing, they were suppose to bring a 3 man team and ended up with 2. More time it takes, more money. At the end, at bill paying time they took off $25 for the third person not showing! Thirdly, they sure chat up with my hubby. Hmmm, more time, more money. The time sure stretched out. Finally, that I know of right now, they put boxes wherever! I clearly had each box marked as to which room it goes. They would also ask me, I finally started saying "what's the box say?" They put my things in a storage building and I'm just now getting them out seeing all of the damage that they did to my belongings. (Spring Hill FL) After using this company 4 times, for the FIRST time, on our 5th move with them, we came across two THIEVES. They stole at least 2 boxes of our food (yes, we are bulk shoppers); a blue bag with 8 chains and 8 bracelets; and a box FILLED with 15 regular extension cords; 7 surge protectors & 5 of the expensive clothlike 15 ft extension cords. We came to realize WHY they were driving so very SLOWLY behind us, to the point where my daughter had to be repeatedly stopping & pulling over to wait for them to catch up. Clearly, while one was driving, the other one was rummaging through our stuff. One did offer for us to check the truck, but what's interesting, is that on our prior 4 moves, we were never asked if we wanted to check the truck. So, of course, we declined. We now realize why he made SURE to offer. See, though we were NEVER asked if we wanted to check the truck on our prior moves, NOTHING was stolen on any of those moves. These two THIEVES knew they had our STOLEN things in that truck, and as one of the THIEF had moved us before from the Tampa location, he KNEW we would most likely decline, when asked to check the truck. We did report the food and jewelry to the company, and the offer was that we can come next time & SELECT the movers, so CLEARLY, those two THIEVES are STILL working with two men and a truck. It is approaching Thanksgiving, which is when we put out our lawn decorations, so we JUST realized that that box with ALL those extension cords are MISSING, GONE. Be VERY CAREFUL also, as these THIEVES move around in the franchises, so one THIEF may have moved you prior with an honest partner from one location, but end up working at another franchise and get to work with a THIEVING partner, as this is what occurred in our case. This was our FIRST time using the Spring Hill Franchise. What we've learnt from this horrible experience is, NEVER to be loyal to any ONE company. Had we been switching & using other movers, we would NEVER have ran into these two THIEVES who are again, clearly STILL working with two men and a truck. DO NOT TRUST ANY MOVERS.
