We paid our sons storage for 2 years, my husband would go after work to pay and the guy was never there which resulted in us paying numerous late fees, we finally got to empty out storage and my husband had to go back 2x In 1 day to tell them we were done with the unit and only had 1 bed frame to pick up. They said we had till Friday to get it out, so Friday after work my husband goes again can't get in to tell the guy, so he went back Saturday again no one there to talk to and they don't answer the phone always voice mail. . Well if we ever need another storage unit we won't be going there. Another bigger one has been built up the street. read more

Great location, easy entry and access, but beware of predatory practices. The web rate is a trap to get you into the door and within the first 4 months they increased the price on me by 35%! DISCLAIMER: This was drafted when I was getting the box, the end result is that I didn't end up needing the box at all but I did encounter great CS with them and therefore I felt that while this was already drafted that I should mention the positives I had previously written. I'll mark the end and reasonings at the end. --- After much deliberation of deciding who and how and what and why I wanted a storage box, my decision came down to some internet research and multiple phone calls to various facilities. Of course I checked my Yelp sources and took note of what has been said, I used that in each phone call I made to decide on what to do and who to choose. The choice did come down to Extra Space Storage and a few factors went into the decision. I called the 877 number so I could speak to someone regarding the questions I had come up with and based off the website I had the web-rate in mind as well. I was prepared to pay for the 5x10 box however the kind woman on the phone advised me that the 5x5 could work with the item I was storing since it was 8 feet tall. For her to suggest that meant a lot, that she was trying to minimize my cost, that was a good feeling because I felt like hey she actually cares. I also asked her a few other questions before deciding upon putting a deposit down. I asked her about the terms and the fees mentioned. That $9 fee is the insurance fee which is stated upon agreement in the contract, although it is a month to month rental, there is paperwork that needs to be done. The rental fees jumping up, according to her and by policy; they give a 30 day notice to renters, that is okay with me since I planned on holding my belongings there for just a few months and she mentioned that it can be anywhere from 6-12 months into a rental agreement. So with the rentals there is a $29 move in fee, my first month is free but everyone is required to pay that and then rent is $45 a month after that. I had to put $10 down to hold the unit until I bring my belongings in and she said I could pay the remaining $19 when I arrive. I asked her if I could make cash payments, she said yes. That is good to know! --- I visited the space and while it would have been perfect for what I needed, I didn't end up actually needing the box because I cleared out some space in a family members house for what I needed to store. I spoke to a guy there and they credited my deposit back to my account and all was set; so in the future if I ever needed a box I would choose this place first hands down. read more

Clean and reasonably well run. Very good access hours, unlike Olympia Ave. Staff is courteous and well-trained. Minor issues such as the light on the electronic keypad being out make it difficult to leave the parking lot at night. They've also had difficulties with their central billing going haywire on occasion. The MAIN issue is the same with their facility on Olympia Ave -- rates will go up and up and up. Just received my first 11% increase after six months in the new facility. They're nice people and do their job well, but make no bones about it the company is there to keep increasing prices just below what they think your pain threshold is. read more

Extra Space storage was very helpful during my mothers move. The free month was really great, and the unit was giant for the price. I felt comfortable with the security system. The location is very easy access from 93, right off the highway, and gas and dunks is nearby too, which is pretty critical to have when you're unloading the truck. read more

They have a very annoying policy of sending you an email saying they haven't received that months payment a week before it's due. And when I changed from an automatic electronic payment to letting them bill my credit card monthly it worked for quite a while then suddenly my credit card was lost and I get an email saying the payment is overdue. They can't seem to get the most basic business functions right. read more

The Person who Yelp'ed about this business before me, is an employee of the business, so do not bother taking her feedback as a real customer. This place has raised the rent on thier customers 3 times in 2 years, each time they raise thier monthly fee by about $5 Extra Space Storage also has a $9 per month Hidden Fee , they do not tell you about this on the phone, or upon visiting the location, they tell you about this the moment you give them your credit card information. You can imagine how the pressure feels, after you've packed up your car or truck and decided to go with one company after comparing prices and what not. Yes the facility is clean (arnt they all ) 70% of this facility is NOT climate controlled , Not True I don't like Hidden Fee's or Raising the Rent , for no good reason. read more

I picked this place to store my things because it's very convenient to the highway and about 15 minutes north of Boston. Plus, the prices were pretty good compared to the other storage facilities. I think it's a fairly new facility built within the last 5 - 10 years or so. They offer various sizes and temperature controlled units and have a few outdoor units. The staff is always very helpful and friendly. I highly recommend this place for storing stuff. The facility is also kept very clean. read more

First of all I would like to start off by saying that this a clean and secure facility but the business behind it is a total SCAM. THe staff is friendly but are clearly following the Corporation's deceitful practices. To get you in the door, everything initially appears to be wonderful. You are offered a reasonable "web" rate for a space however once you are in to door you are screwed. First off there is the MANDATORY monthly insurance you have to pay (minimum $10 per month) This is not mentioned anywhere on the web site. After the first 4 months you get a notice that your rent is going up. My rent increased 15%. From reading other reviews, I understand that this will continue to happen every 4-5 months. THIS IS A CLEAR BAIT AND SWITCH SCAM SO BEWARE. They believe that once they get you in the door you will not want the inconvenience of moving again so you will pay whatever they charge. I don't see how they are BBB accredited with hundreds of similar complaints lodged to them. Additionally the Consumer Affairs website lists hundreds of complaints for these deceitful practices. I am sure they have buried this somewhere in the fine print but they will not make it known to you. So don't make the same mistake I did. I am typically a very easy customer to please however this violates all good business practices. I do not trust this company and will never do business with them again and will make it a point to warn others. read more

I'm only in this unit for one month while I transition from my old apartment into my new one, but the move-in was awesome. It's perfectly located right off the highway and has the longest gate access hours I could find off I-93. Customer service was phenomenal. Super nice staff and such an easy move. If there's anything I could change I would make the hallways wider on the fourth floor, but it wasn't that much of an inconvenience. Since I'm not staying long term I can't speak to the stability of rent, but for my first month it had a reasonable rate for the unit size I requested (after reviewing several other storage facilities) and their promotion cut it in half for the first month so it worked out great! read more

Customer service is always a good sign that your expectations will be met and this is what I received with Extra Space Storage. The staff was very courteous and resourceful. The unit advised and selected was clean and dry with very easy access directly off the elevator. The hours of operation are very good. I am still in my first month of renting so cannot comment just yet on the billing system, but was prior explained how it would work after the first month. All and all compared to other storage facilities their prices are competitive to the market and they will also work with the client to get the best quote. read more
