In my home and outside in my driveway they used foul language even when seeing that I had a young child in the home. They were disorganized and rough with my belongings. They were loud and silly, showing off and making jokes amongst each other and goofing around while moving things. At my new condo they behaved even worse! One of them had their music blasting loudly as he moved my stuff through the halls, having no regard for other tenants. Once inside my condo they continued to use foul and inappropriate language. One mover asked to use my bathroom which I did allow as he was the tamest of them all. These young men were loud and careless. I did have two pieces of furniture that ended up being scratched up. When I spoke to Dan about this he seemed to care and told me it would be taken care of, BUT NEVER DID!! He stopped responding to my emails and calls. I waited over a year to write this review. I followed up several times for reimbursement but Dan just ignored me. I would not recommend this company to ANYONE! I would have been better off finding a few local highschool kids to do the job. This company is an absolute joke and to think it was my realtor who actually recommended them!!! I do not recommend this company. Dan and his crew are careless and unprofessional. Your stuff is not in good hands with them- trust me!!!!!

    I was referred to this mover by the MIT furniture exchange. They said that YourMove was excellent…read more I was happy about this, because it is always great to find a good mover! What happened over the next week and a half was discouraging. I told them that I had a very restricted schedule (because I am a teacher). I cannot leave classes just because I have movers coming over. We tried to find a time, but it was hard. Eventually I asked my boss for a favor so I could get a time that would work. He let me out of a faculty meeting. This was a big favor. I worked hard to meet these movers halfway! But then on the day of the move, the movers called to say "Hey, we're done early today. Can we come to your place now?" It was TWO HOURS BEFORE THE AGREED TIME! I had to teach my class! What the hell? Who do these people think they are? I should leave work two hours earlier than OUR AGREED TIME just because it was MORE CONVENIENT FOR THE MOVERS? I tried to reach the dispatcher, Judy. I called her twice, but she didn't pick up. She claimed that she called me twice, but my phone said she hadn't. My phone ALWAYS picks up the missed calls. Her movers were certainly able to reach me via the same number. Judy said that she COULDN'T SEND THE MOVERS AT THE AGREED TIME BECAUSE SHE "DIDN'T WANT THEM WAITING AROUND FOR TWO HOURS." She said that over EMAIL. WHY ARE HER SCHEDULING ISSUES MY PROBLEM? It is not my problem! A DEAL IS A DEALl! I CALLED IN A FAVOR FROM MY BOSS SO I COULD BE THERE AT A TIME CONVENIENT FOR THE MOVERS, AND THEN THEY DON'T SHOW UP??? Too bad, favor wasted, because YOUR MOVE MOVERS DIDN'T WANT TO DO THEIR JOBS. When I talked to Judy on the phone, to her credit, she apologized tepidly. But she also said that nothing could be done about it. She made it seem like SHE was doing ME a favor by agreeing for such a late move time (4pm to 5pm). "Movers start early. The work hard and they finish early." She said she worked really hard to find a time for me, she really did me a favor. Great, that would have been nice IF THEY HAD SHOWN UP. You said 4-5PM, BE THERE AT 4-5PM! AND DON'T ACT LIKE YOU ARE _DOING_ME_A_FAVOR_BY_DOING_YOUR_JOB! Who do these people think they are? I cancelled my order. I will not be using them. I will be using someone else. This is flabbergasting, unacceptable. I can't hand over money to people who do such a miserable job with their customer service. Use someone else, someone who actually cares about their customers. Judy lost my sale, and broke a promise just because she can't schedule properly and because she didn't want to have her movers "sitting around for two hours" because she didn't have anything scheduled for them. Maybe she saved money by doing that, but she made me a furious fucking customer. I will make sure none of my friends ever use this service. Nice job, guys.

Also they are a reasonably priced, small, local business, and this shows through in my interactions with the owner and his employees, which is a very good thing. I could not ask for a better experience! I am reviewing them now, before an upcoming move, because I am a jerk who promised them a great review after my last move and forgot to do it.

Before booking, I was quoted approximately $480-$560 to move a single couch from Chicago to Madison at a rate of $160 per hour with a three-hour minimum. Their website advertised that the hourly rate included the truck, movers, gas, tolls, mileage, insurance, and furniture protection. Based on those representations, I reasonably believed transportation-related costs were already factored into the quoted estimate. Imagine my surprise when my final invoice came to $960 -- approximately 71% higher than the estimate. The invoice included 3.5 hours of labor and an additional 2.5 hours of travel time, adding $400 to the final bill. My issue is not simply that the move cost more than expected. My issue is that the estimate, website advertising, and billing structure did not align. The website repeatedly states that transportation costs are included, while elsewhere disclosing that travel time is billed separately. Important pricing information appears buried deeper in the website rather than alongside the headline pricing. I also found multiple hourly rates listed throughout the website, making it difficult to determine what pricing actually applied. Had I known the move would cost nearly $1,000 rather than the quoted $480-$560, I would have obtained quotes from other moving companies before booking. To make matters worse, after filing a claim, I was informed by the claims administrator that the review process can take up to 120 days and that no status updates would be provided during that time due to call volume. As a customer, being told to wait up to four months without any updates does not inspire confidence that concerns will be addressed promptly or transparently. The movers themselves were polite but unprofessional. The pricing transparency, billing practices, and claims process left me extremely distressed as this was a gift for my mother and I had saved up for it. I would strongly encourage anyone considering this company to get detailed written clarification regarding travel-time charges and total expected costs before booking.
