i have had a storage unit in this complex since last summer, and it has been infested with rats. They keep saying it's been cleared, but that's not true--everything is full of rat pee and rat poop. It's horrible! I've had to throw away bags of my belongings, yet they won't move me to another unit or give me two units of comparable size. They just keep insisting that there are no more rats, despite the pictures I've taken. There are so many rats, so be warned RATS!! read more

I recently moved and needed a place to store my furniture, etc. Everyone I worked with was great! I even needed to extend my rental for a week and they worked with me on that as well. This facility was a lot cleaner than the other storage units I've seen in the past. Nobody was loitering around the facility and it seemed really secure. I can't say if this facility is cheaper than the others, but I liked the customer service for sure. read more

Started at 256 for 10x15, raised to 440 in 2 years even though advertised as 271 right now. Elderly dad on an extremely tight budget had to move All of his heavy stuff across town, even though they are advertising for a much lower price right now. This should not be legal, and in my opinion is extremely predatory to raise the prices this quickly and this unreasonably in such a short period of time. My only hope is that some storage unit business will stop praying on the poor and people that already are struggling. Also, would like to mention that every single time that my dad had to get to his storage unit, he had to contend with an extremely long line of cars trying to wait in the drive-through for In-N-Out. It was almost impossible to get to the storage unit in a timely manner if you needed to grab something really quick, because of this serious inconvenience. read more

I've only been renting here about 3 months and suddenly I get a notice in the mail that says my rent is going up by $100 per month. I was shocked by such a large increase so soon, and so I consulted with a couple neighboring renters and discovered that this is their ploy. They wait until you get settled in and then they start hitting you with frequent increases in rent. The fellow in the neighboring unit said he started out at $150 and not he's up to $850 per month (about the price of a cheap apartment). So if you're looking for storage, I definitely would recommend you find another company that is more honest and reasonable. read more

This place was affordable or at least comparable to other storage places near by. But I am now paying $230 for a 5×10. It has almost doubled since I first started renting 2 years ago. I am not forced to loom for a new storage facility. At this point I might as well rent a three bedroom apartment for the extra room to store my things. Also the carts a no longer available, whether they've been stolen or not..I pay for them to be available to me especially at $230 for you to basically babysit my items. Anytime I have needed help Dan was definitely there to help. But unfortunately, the cost is just ridiculous. read more

I just called to pay my bill and the hired help (you know who you are) was rude and sarcastic! When asked to explain a foreclosure on my unit that I make payments on each month, she said she had to look into it. Nothing to look into, she just didn't have an answer because she's an idiot with a smart mouth and dumb as a box of rocks. How do you foreclosure on someone who HAS NOT missed a payment?? She then proceeded to try and talk to me sarcastically, hope she realizes she sounded pathetic. This place needs to hire intelligent individuals with Customer Service skills not some unintelligent person who acts like they're being bothered, that's why I had to tell her to shut up. She said she was a manager....wow, I guess anyone can be a manager these days. Maybe you guys can hire someone with actual managerial skills. read more

Firstly I'd like to start off by saying before I decided to rent a unit I checked in with yelp to see what others had to say about this facility, and I was surprised at the level of anger in some of these reviews. It had me thinking how could people be upset with the manager who's merely just in charge of renting and security? Well given the convenience of location and price I decided that I'd see for myself and went ahead and met with Ashley (who's great! Very pleasant and easy to follow and very helpful) who gave me the rundown on the whole shebang! It was very cut and dry. An easy pleasant process and straight to the point. I was out in less than twenty min and very comfortable with my decision. The facility is well guarded and maintained by Dan who is there pretty much 24/7 so I was assured that break ins aren't an occurrence here. Given the location as well, I've lived up the street for the past year and feel this is the safest town I've ever lived in. So security is good. I like knowing that the manager is on site after hours and able to interfere in the event of any funny business. As far as getting a storage unit goes the standard procedure shouldn't be one that requires the type of confrontations mentioned in previous posts. So after going there and meeting Dan myself I was glad that I didn't let some negative reviews be my own judgement and the person described in the reviews was absolutely NOT the person they say. Dan was very clean cut and professional and was happy to answer my questions and assist me, truly pleasant. Someone had wrote that he asked them about drug paraphernalia and the man doesn't look like he's done a drug in his life. So the validity of those accusations is very questionable.. most likely people with vendetta because they didn't get away with something and felt the need to slander. Clean, safe, and professional. Had to find a quick place to move my stuff in and had it not been for their wonderful prices id be stuck with a car full of things. We were helped immediately walking into the office and had a unit that fit our needs within ten minutes. Over all it took about 30 or so minutes to have a place to store our things. We were able to walk around the facility to pick what unit and location we wanted, and thought the entire facility it was clean and tidy. The gate and location of this facility makes me feel like my things are safe. The wonderful costumer service makes you feel welcomed. read more

I fell on hard times and was unable to pay my storage for a few months. Thankful God blessed me and put me back on top. The thing is extra storage space said I owed over a $1000 for missing my rent for 4 months when I was paying $140/month for my unit and insurance. So they told me they were going to auction off my unit and would know how much I would owe after that. Well I called less then a week after the auction and they said they could not accept payment because they had already sent my bill to collections. I would never rent a storage unit from this place. The manager Dan is rude and makes you feel guilty if your late on a payment. Their so called security guy rides around on a bike and always gives you bad looks like you're not welcomed there. I would Look for somewhere else to lease because this place is not very friendly or compassionate. God bless read more

I had a great experience with Extra Space Storage. Getting a unit was a simple on-line setup with a credit card. I have used other storage places over the years and this was the easiest and most convenient. Dan the manager was very helpful and he keeps the premises very clean and professional. I view storage places so differently now that I've seen "Storage Wars!" LOL In fact, the wife portion of the husband and wife management team here really entertained us with stories of what has been found in some of the storage units that she's managed. WOW. That's all I can say. So our new house doesn't have a garage. Isn't that crazy? But it is rural and located in a gorgeous, quiet canyon so we had to make a couple of sacrifices. A garage being one of them. Next thing you know, we turned into one of those couples that stores their Christmas decorations in a storage unit. Plus a few other things that we couldn't part with but wouldn't fit in the new abode. Extra Space Storage is really neat and clean. The employees are nice, professional and very helpful. They are also aware of the people on the grounds so they can keep your storage unit safe. (Wouldn't want anyone stealing my Christmas tree stand...) And they have a monthly payment program where the payment just comes right out of your checking account so you won't forget to pay and then see your own storage unit being auctioned off on "Storage Wars." Only one small negative - when we arrived to place our items into our storage unit, they had put a lock on our unit. They said this was to deter homeless people from sleeping in it. And luckily for us we were there during office hours so they could remove the lock for us. Just something to be aware of if you're moving items into your storage unit after hours ;) read more
