Pretty good so far. Staff were helpful and it seems very clean here. The only down side is their access hours finish too early at 8pm. A lot of storages have access hours from 5am-10pm which I find extremely helpful because most jobs are 9-5pm and its traffic hour 5-7pm soo yeah not much time to go to your storage. I moved into this storage unit from another one and this experience was very friendly. Eddie walked me to multiple units to make sure that the sizing was appropriate and showed me the easiest way to get to and from my unit. The entire process was smooth and easy and we were done very quickly with the help of the handy moving carts that were made available as well. Expensive rent, and will get higher, full of rats I see rats everyday in my unit, the rats dirty everything and damage the items I have. they also changed the gate hours from 10pm to 8pm. There isn't much reason left to stay here. read more

The manager was super friendly and very informative and he reassured me that my things would be safe, so that was a big relief.

My mother rented a storage unit from this place and they PROMISED in their agreement that her items would be safe from the elements and from pests. When we went to the unit to move her stuff out, there was water damage on the door INSIDE the unit as well as RAT POOP AND CHEWING DAMAGE everywhere. She was visibly upset and lost her beautiful antique furniture due to the rats gnawing through the wood, and when she notified the staff, they made her sign a paper that she would not sue, IF they gave her the money back for the rent for a year and a half and the money to replace her stuff and get somebody in there to clean it and take her stuff out, but now they want to play dumb and say they never said that and not give her the money back because the owner doesn't want to. They are also making her clean up all of the rat droppings with her stuff which is a bio hazard. DO NOT, I repeat, DO NOT... USE THIS PLACE TO STORE YOUR STUFF, unless you don't want your stuff in the same condition that it went in, THEY WILL FUCK YOU OVER. read more

I've only been renting a unit since December and all my stuff has been stolen. I've only been by a few times so I have no idea when it was all taken but supposedly they do "daily" lock checks. I will say the customer service is amazing and if I was rating just that I would give 5 stars. But considering all of my items are now gone I can't possibly give a good rating. While they have surveillance this gives me zero confidence that they actually monitor the lockers which is unfortunate as everything else seemed just fine about this place. read more

This place is a joke! They lack responsibility & security. We have been renting for a while and there has been multiple break ins and BURGLARIES in this storage unit, and we did not know of the break ins until it was us today. (3/30/2023). We have left very valuable thing we have in this storage unit in hopes of keeping them safe. And since December there has been 5 break ins and burglaries that no one bothered to inform us about in order to either stop renting or taking out valuables out of this irresponsible and dangerous storage. We asked the storage manager if they had known or checked surveillance footages in order to find out when this burglary had happened or where these people came from. but his response was that He didn't know where they came from or WHEN they came. How do you claim to check locks everyday but failed to find out when this happened ? Is this a inside job? Do your self a favor and rent somewhere safe where they take responsibility for peoples items and actually care about your property and inform you when something in the storage goes wrong. Don't wait and be in this situation and lose everything you have, because not even the insurance would cover it fully. read more

Looked around for the best deal . I needed a small storage for all my Christmas and miscellaneous items I only use every so often . I selected Extra storage space for the great monthly rate . Extra storage space was 1/2 cheaper than all other competitors . I didn't have to pay a monthly insurance fee since I showed them my home insurance . Was with Public storage for a couple months, however it was too expensive and their storage units were always humid. Extra storage quickly helped us get a new unit and set us up quickly. When a family tragedy required me to find a storage space ASAP, I looked to this location of Extra Space Storage because it was close to home, clean, secure and open to its customers until 10PM. My interactions with the manager have been nothing but professional. I made my reservation on line and when I called to confirm, she was careful not to have me charged until I actually needed to use the space. At the office while my paperwork was being prepared, I could see the monitors from the security cameras stationed all over the complex. That gave me a good feeling of security. They offer an on line automated payment system and also require you to provide your own homeowners insurance here. The application asked many more questions than I've had to answer before, but none of them were too intrusive. They offer dollies for you to use on site to move items from your vehicle and into your unit. The one downside to renting here is there are lights on timers in the hallways, but none in the units. The site also has a Coke machine and a pad locked bathroom, available when only when the manager is on site because you have to access it with a key read more

Moving and needed a place to store some boxes and furniture in my transition. Storage places in and around Irvine about $120+ per month for a 10x10. Extra Storage in Santa Ana came in at $82+9(insurance)=$91. I have homeowners insurance but did not have a copy with me so I have to pay $9 for 1 month, no problem, but was surprised about it. I will drop by the office to give them a copy of my homeowners insurance. So make sure to bring a copy of your homeowners insurance policy so you do not have to pay the extra $9 per month. Overall excellent experience. Chelsea was very helpful and gave me a tour and extended the Internet rate on-site. read more

DO NOT RENT HERE. RAT INFESTED. I had been renting from this place for a few years and finally decided to move my things out. When I went to start pulling my things out, there was rat poop EVERYWHERE, and I mean everywhere. I had a recliner that had poop all over and pee. They got into my my cardboard and chewed on some books. Pooped and peed all over my baby clothes I had saved from when my daughter was small. The only thing they didn't get into was my boxes that were plastic. I ended up throwing away my recliner and many things it was the most disgusting sight ever. I recently got some stuff stolen from this storage, I had been with them for a year now, it wasnt only me other people as well, and unfortunately I was talking to a man today, I had approached him first because he was waiting for someone to respond at the office, but its sunday they arent opened today. So I was talking to the man, and he told me and my spouse about his storage broken into as well about 2 weeks ago, so im very upset because to me it seem that they dont care, and the police cant do much for what they said to us, and we told the police cant they check the cameras??...so I dont know whats going on on this storage but our locks weren't forced into like it was a inside job. read more

I originally rented a 5x8' space to store some extra items i had laying around my apartment. After only 5 months, I got a post card stating my rent would go up. So i shopped around, including seeing what else was available at Extra Space. I found a 5x10' at the same location that would be less than my new rate. So i opted for more space. I stopped in asap to secure the new space and rate, and did a quick view of it to see where it is located. Luckily, it was in the same building and down the hall, just a better location. So it would be a quick and easy move. I came in the following day to move my things over. I loaded up the cart and got to the new space when i realized it wasn't really bigger than my current unit. i ceased to move my things figuring they must have made a mistake and issued my the wrong unit. I got a call from then the next day asking if i am going to move. I explained the situation and i was then informed that the sizes listed are only approximations. The new unit is not close to 10'. It was about 2 feet shorter, and barely 5 feet. All she could tell me is that all unit sizes are approximations and that i approved the unit when she showed it to me. I was not aware that part of the approval should have been me bringing a tape measure to make sure they arent scamming me. My standard of approximations should be within a few inches, not feet. I immediately decided to go across the street to Public Storage. Ill be paying more, but i wont have to deal with shady people. Beyond that, the Extra Space indoor units have hollow, pressed wood doors and thin metal walls. This did not make me feel my belongings would be safe from intruders and weather. The new unit even has a bent out wall that can make looking in easy. I do not recommend doing business with these people, ever. read more

From the moment I met the very friendly and helpful manager, Chelsi, at the Santa Ana location I felt very comfortable with leaving all the stuff from my three bedroom home here until I find a permanent place to live. After relocating from Oregon it was very reassuring to discover such a wonderful business and nice manager. The price was great also! Anything less than $1 per sq ft for storage is great and especially on a large unit like I got at Extra Space. This is the worst storage place I have ever rented from. The office people are. Ice when u are renting after forget it!they don't answer the phone and are rude when u come to the office. Chelsea is horrible rude, disrespectful and never has an answer.
