Let me start by saying Telisa is absolutely incredible. If every storage facility had someone like her running it, they would all be five-star operations. She is professional, kind, responsive, and always willing to go the extra mile. Even the facility smells amazing thanks to her attention to detail--seriously, when have you ever walked into a storage place and thought, "Wow, that smells good?" I had an issue with one of the units due to an act of God, and Telisa helped me resolve it immediately with no runaround. She always followed through, always cared, and always tried to help, even when her hands were tied. Now to Extra Space corporate: you have some serious explaining to do. I originally signed up online for a $150 per month special that was advertised as a yearly rate. Just a few months in, I received a notice that my rate was increasing. That "12-month rate" was nothing more than a bait and switch. Thankfully, Telisa advocated on my behalf and got it honored--because that is just who she is. But after that first year, the price hikes became nonstop. It felt like every few months I had to call to fight another increase. Telisa did what she could, but corporate's hands-off, profit-over-people approach made it clear that loyal customers were not your priority. Truthfully, I would not have stayed as long as I did if it were not for Telisa. She deserves a raise, recognition, and a better company supporting her. If you are reading this as a potential customer, go see Telisa. If you are reading this at corporate, be better. You are lucky to have her. Thank you again, Telisa. I completely agree with Eddie V's review. I rented a 5x10 unit in August and after 5 months, they are raising the rates 82% Really?? Chris at the location has been helpful and very responsive but I believe this is out of his hands. Have found many companies with competitive rates to my original rate and guarantees that no increase for at least a year and I doubt the increase will be 81%. Will be moving. read more

PLEASE READ!!!! 3rd paragraph after this one is most important if you want to skip reading my entire review. If I help one person I will be content. I want to start off by saying I understand this is a business. I understand they want to stay competitive. So when they increased my rent, I understand why they think they had to do it. With that being said, I wasn't going to leave a review but they're spamming my inbox for one so now I'm going to give it my honest review. The gentleman that helped me seems like a nice guy. His service was great, and his communication was great. This review isn't on his customer service. This review is on Extra Space Storage. Extra Space Storage really, and I mean REAAAALLY pissed me off. I got a notice in the mail that they were increasing my storage rent by $80!!! Their reasoning was to stay competitive with the market, and yes it's in the contract that they can increase your rent as long as they give you a 30 day notice, which they did. BUT I WAS ONLY THERE FOR 2, yes TWOO months. They reeled me in with their great rates, and once I was moved in to their 10x15 storage unit, a unit that fit my two bedroom apartment, they jacked up the price by $80!!! Read my first sentence of this review.... But $80 price increase after 2 months. That is shady. They want you moved in, they know the demographic, they know peoples situation, and they're taking advantage. It almost seems like they do it on purpose, like if I wouldn't want to move my stuff to another storage unit, but I'm not lazy. I was out of there in two weeks after giving my notice and paying my rent. Theres a lot of people who are exhausted of having to move into such a big unit that Extra Space Storage knows they won't move and just pay the price increase which is such a scam. I called a competing storage company, they asked why I was leaving, and I told them the truth. Extra Space Storage increased my rent after being there two months. And they assured me that they don't increase storage fees until at LEASST a year. I am now paying for an indoor storage unit that happily matched the same rate Extra Space Storage was charging me, but I am MORE than happy to have paid even $50 MORE than extra space storage to be with an honest company, and NOT have the feeling I'm getting ripped off or being taken advantage of. At the rate they were increasing my rent who's to say they wouldn't have done it again. Extra Space Storage is a TERRIBLE choice for a storage unit. If you don't care getting reeled in by a great rate only to have your rent increased after just two months by $80! That's a 40% increase!, then this place is for you. You've been warned. read more

Signing up online was easy and before I was off the website, Chris was calling to check in with me about my storage space needs. Meeting him was a pleasure. He made the whole process seemless. The sotrahe space was clean and obiously well kept. The only reason I'm giving it 4 instead of 5 stars is that I rented a 10 x 20 thinking it was one space when really it's two individual spaces. Would have preferred one as it makes it easier to store some of my longer pieces of furniture. read more

Clean, newish facility in a great location & staff is very pleasant. However, within months, our already high rent was increased while significantly lower teaser rates were still being offered to new tenants (a $75/month difference for our sized unit)! Bottom line, we moved to Storage Direct using their moving truck and are saving over $100/month!! read more

I have been renting a large storage here for a few years now. I decided it was time to part with unnecessary things and move into a smaller unit. Chris was very helpful. I decided on the smallest unit. He looked at what I had left and said what I would need. He was spot on. I was concerned that I would have to pay for a full month on the large unit until I was moved out. Chris only charged me for the exact days I used each units. In today's world you can expect to be charged a full month. What a relief, Chris made it easy. read more
