Let me tell you how ONE SINGLE EMPLOYEE can turn a bad experience with a company around! My mother passed. I was left with 60 years of hoarding & disrepair. Between probate, uncooperative siblings, 12 hour days weeding through documents, photographs, bills, 14 hour days as a Private Chef for high profile atheletes & teaching culinary classes at CBG, I was at the end of my rope. Why am I telling you this? Because these days, it REALLY MATTERS. I finally was at the stage to sell & BEGIN moving stuff out. Calling around for storage, over priced, can't talk to a person... its a lot!!! Ended up calling Extra Storage. A man answered, disingenuous, sold me a bill of goods. Square footage I requested but in 3 seperate units with small doors at opposite ends of a HUGE facility, in the WRONG LOCATION (which was crucial)! So here I go, more time I dont have fighting dishonsty with time I dont have & money they dont desrve!! Called back after 5pm. Girl named Kari answered & THANK GOD she was honest & had mercy on A) my situation B) the way I was treated and C) demanded I let her make it right!!! Everything became perfect! Contract in my inbox, amount promised, warp speed execution, map to the unit, door open waiting for movers, lock/keys/codes right there where she said they'd be!!! And TODAY, I called requiring a second unit (my miscalculation). It is truly delightful & a privilege dealing with Kari!!! We went through sizes, what still needed to come out of this house with movers tomorrow on short notice, closing Friday!!! Here's all I can say: 1) Don't deal with people who feel dishonest. 2) Be grateful when you give your hard earned money to someone you can trust & goes the EXTRA MILE! 3) Take time to read/write a review about a GREAT PERSON! 4) Show INCREDIBLE EMPLOYEES you value them with promotions & monetary compensation (and deep 6 the bad ones. Makes YOUR entire company smell bad). AND... 5) I feed alot of Chicago's professional athlete's who value their privacy & folks they can trust. But its a TOUGH business & half of them get traded, STORE THEIR STUFF until they sign, buy a house & settle in. And, I have their ear. I'm only giving 1 star because it's required. They'll get you into a storage unit and jack your prices. They don't care about existing customers, they only want to get you into a unit so they can start their price increase. the unit started at 212 now it's at 311. Paid on time every month. If you're looking for good business, GO SOMEWHERE ELSE. Customer service hung up on me when I was trying to get this under control. read more

Extremely dissatisfied with this company. They changed the entry code and we have not been able to get into our storage unit. For several weeks no one had been in office during normal hours when we come by, no one responds to our calls, no one responds to our emails. We have called multiple numbers and emailed multiple accounts to no avail. Why have a storage unit if you can't access it? I will update this review if we get in touch with the management. read more

My husband and I have a storage unit here and recently had a very bad experience with this company. We went on a weekend to retrieve our things from the unit. The door to our unit had been pushed off the track and the handle was smashed so we could not budge the door to get our things that we needed THAT DAY. There was no one staffed in in the office which is supposed to be staffed. They have office hours posted on the door but no one was there during the week of our experience. We placed numerous unreturned calls to the posted phone number for five days and our calls were never returned. My husband got the managers phone number from the answering service and spoke to the manager who assured us they would take care of our problem but alas, he never called us back. We had to call the Lake County sheriff department to finally get someone from this company to come fix the door so we could obtain our things. When I tried to explain to the woman who met me (Tina) that we had lost out on hundreds of dollars of income because we couldn't retrieve our merchandise, she told me I should be grateful to her that she drove from St. Louis to fix my broken door. WHAT?!?!? This company is extremely unprofessional and unreliable. We cannot wait to get our things out of here and rent from another more professional company. read more

I rented through cube smart before they sold this location and never had a problem since the new management company took over there have been nothing but issue from my unit flooding due to a frozen pipe and not notifying me for two days, to rude and unprofessional staff. I would not rent from this company there are other more professional and less expensive storage places to go to. read more

I took my things to cube smart and was impressed with the cleanliness of the building. Jen and Donyai worked as a team to get me the storage unit and clearly gave me the rundown of how much it is. The first month is free, all I had to do is pay insurance and the initial move in fee. I plan on using it for a month, so it came out to 34 bucks which is great. They both took the time to explain everything to me and all the steps needed if I need an extra month or so. They walked me to the unit, showed me the shortcuts to it and were just very pleasant to work with. read more

I would strongly recommend that anyone seeking a storage unit avoid this location. I rented this unit from Cube Smart several months ago. Shortly after I rented, Cube Smart sold the facility to another party that renamed it "Bradley Road Storage." Following transfer, I received a very unpleasant email stating the new management intended to remove my belongings and sell them if I did not notify them immediately of my name and address. Apparently, the buyer failed to do its due diligence and secure the names of the unit tenants. Today, I received an equally unpleasant email from Bradley Storage. The email stated that someone has been leaving garbage on the premises. If they cannot identify the name of the offender they intend to charge everyone who entered the building on the day of the offense $50. Essentially, anyone who enters the unit on the day garbage is noticed will be charged $50 even if he or she is not the offender or if the garbage was left on another day but not noticed until later . While I doubt if this provision would stand up to court review, it speaks volumes about the the mind set and the integrity of the owners. AVOID THIS STORAGE LOCATION! read more
