Your things will not be safe from theft here, and when notifying them about items that were stolen,…read moregot no response whatsoever. Their claim to have 24 hour surveillance, is pointless, if it neither prevents, nor solves any criminal activity. There are also a multitude of people who use some of the units as a residence, and obviously have more than enough time to get into peoples' lockers during the night, when the facility is closed, and steal from them. While I've been a long time customer, I'll be looking forward to moving my things elsewhere.

My experience with Handy Storage in Dania Beach raises serious questions about how this facility…read morehandles basic sanitation and guest complaints. In March 2026 I accessed Unit 411 and found two dead rats inside the unit and severe rodent damage to my belongings. The unit was clearly unfit for storage at that point: about 90% of the contents were contaminated or destroyed, and I had to hire a debris removal company to clear everything out at my own expense. I immediately notified the on site manager. No photos were taken, no inspection was done at that time, and the only response I received was an offer of a broom. After I vacated and cleaned the unit, I requested a refund of three months' rent as a reasonable gesture for an unsanitary, unusable space and the costs I incurred. Management refused and told me to take it up with my insurance company. Their rental agreement may disclaim responsibility for contents, but it does not change the reality that I was paying for a storage unit that ended up with dead rats, extensive contamination, no proper on site documentation, and no willingness to offer even a modest rent credit. If you are considering storing anything of value here, you should factor this into your decision.
