If I exceeding that time it would be an additional $85 per hour. I informed her that it was mostly boxes, bins, and everything was packed and bubble wrapped already. When the workers arrived, we did a complete walk through of the house. The guy in charge immediately start saying this job is way bigger than the job he just done. He went on to express, he had another job to do after he finished with me. After he took inventory of every room, we then signed the contract to move forward. PSA..The crew pulled up in a truck that had another company's name on it. Nothing in line with NJ Wide Movers LLC. The door of the truck displays, All Pro Moving, the side of the truck displays , Carton and Son Inc.. This makes it hard to tell who they really are but investigators will figure that out. Anywho, the guy in charge took about four weed & cigarette breaks. Three hours later we arrive to the storage unit, he then quotes me $780 balance. He went on to say, he will not unload the truck until I make the payment. All of the guys began to sit down. I showed him the price and time that I was quoted, I also remind him that we are only three hours in as of now, and we still have more stuff at the house. He then told me that he was not going back to the house to get the remainder of my belongings. I told him that is unfair, being that he did a complete walk through of my house taking inventory and if he couldn't transport everything, he should not have taken the job. Non the less I ended up calling Jeanne to aware her of the happenings. I asked her why is he quoting me this high amount? She told me that it's an estimate of the time it will take to empty the truck. She had nothing to say or any accommodations about her worker leaving behind my refrigerator and rest of my belongings at the house. Of course she is on his side. I ended up paying $600 minus the wrapping, tape, and made up miles that he couldn't produce. I continually asked the workers not to not to use wrapping or tape. Of course they wait until they get outside by their truck to do so, which I have on video. U-Haul office closes at 7pm, customer access ends at 10pm, and our finish unload time also ends at 10pm. At 8pm I notice the guys start moving really fast, loading 5 dollies at a time before going upstairs. They were throwing things in the storage unit any kind of way. Once the truck was empty, I go up stairs behind them to see the unit. To my surprise there were ten dollies in the hallway with no space left in the two units. The guy in charge asked me, what are you going to do? I asked him to charge me for the additional time it will take, to bring the stuff back to the house, being that the office is closed and I can't get another unit. He agreed and said that would be an additional $170. The three workers and the guy in charge, all took a dolly each and headed towards the elevator. I grabbed two dollies following behind. I waited upstairs for them to empty the elevator. By the time I got downstairs, the four dollies were blocking me to get off the elevator. I pushed them to the side, as I finally exited and proceeded towards the truck. Before I could get close enough, I heard screeching tires and witnessed the driver pulling away. I was in total disbelief that he pulled off and left me. U-HAUL is closed, no staff on site and there was no one to assist me. PLEASE AVOID THEM BY ALL COST. Worst experience ever, very unprofessional. They need to be out of business. What if someone did this to his mother, sister, or wife. Complete Jerk. And you're frantically trying to find the right movers and you have aggressive sales people calling you from moving companies and NO ONE is really paying attention to your situation and you feel like you are just talking to con man after con woman? That was me. Finally, after receiving the most outrageous quotes for minimal service, I took a couple days off from the hunt. Then, I realized that very good friends of mine had moved twice in the last ten years. I gave them a call. "Do we have a mover??!! Margret, look NO FURTHER. Call Moving the Right Way! Tell them we sent you." I did. People, this call made me weep with joy. Someone was paying attention to me, making note of special situations - i.e. furniture that needed disassembly and re-assembly, the lay out of the place I was leaving vs. the layout of the place I was going. I had a list of items and dimensions. THEY WERE INTERESTED IN THAT INFORMATION!! What a concept!! The day of the move, I was not quite ready. I have a special needs, highly functioning, adult child who just got stuck when it came to completing the packing of her things. AND, I had collapsed with exhaustion before finishing packing the worst room - the kitchen. Sure, I paid a little extra for the help - totally fair, but I got serious help! I got SIX GUYS!! SIX of them. Seven hours that stretched into 8.5 hours because I was not quite ready, a big truck and they moved my 2-bedroom from one side of town to a far nicer side of town. These guys felt like my beloved big strong conscientious cousins had come to rescue me from a crummy place and transport me to a place more appropriate for a working mother and daughter. Seriously, they felt like family almost immediately. No one bumped a wall with anything whatsoever in either place. No one was obsessed with their phone. NO ONE took a smoke break! AND the guy who disassembled my massive California King captain's bed (with storage) discovered that that my ex-spouse had drunkenly put it together and actually caused damage to the structure. Look, I was in survival mode for so many years, I just thought it was a cheap Wayfair bed and it was always going to creak like that when I got in it and when I got out of it. Whattaya gonna do? One day, I will afford a good new one. Nope, the mover FIXED the bed. Meticulously examined and fixed every faulty joint in the structure. He had the tools at the ready and the right screws, nuts, bolts, whatever. No more lying awake at night thinking, This bed is gonna collapse; I hope I survive that. The bed now makes no sound whatsoever when i get in it or out of it and not even when I cheer on my favorite shows on t.v. and bounce around with enthusiasm. NO SOUND!!! There was a challenge to get my couch out of the old place - had to go through a first story window because it could not get through the door. My new place was on a second story. I knew I might have to give up the couch, but the movers were talking to one another - AS THEY CONTINUED TO MOVE OTHER STUFF - working out how they might get it in. They weren't standing around wasting time, they were talking and working at the same time. I'm a midwest girl, so I was busy arranging and moving about what the guys were bringing in. And then, all of a sudden, the couch - my prized possession; a hand-me-down ABC Carpet feather-stuffed chocolate velvet beauty - was being hoisted through the window. They didn't bump the building, the window frame --- no problems at all. It came in like butter. I was delighted!!! The guys asked questions when needed and yet they had wonderful instincts as well. NOTHING was lost, mishandled, ignored. There was laughter and there was focus. I tipped every single one of them in cash and they absolutely deserved it. It was only a little bit more than the estimate because I was not quite ready when they came, but it still was a way better price and FAR MORE careful and efficient service than the other companies were offering. I was in EXCELLENT hands the whole day. Don't look any further. These are your guys. Even the management company here at my new property were in absolute AWE with the efficiency of these movers. My only regret is that I didn't think to stock sodas and snacks for them. They absolutely deserved refreshments at the end of the day as they were putting in overtime for me.
