I have been a customer of this establishment adding together about 8 years +. I had store my used Eds storage for three different times totalled 8+ years. The owner is a pleasant person and also a patient one . The condition s of my belongings that I had stored , we're in perfect condition. He was always responsive when I called . I even left to live in Connecticut for a good six months leaving my things in storage each time I returned to pay my bill or picked up something I needed all was in tact as how I had left it. I would sincerely recommend Shield Self Storage based on my experience with the building and the excellent service of Mr. Ed . This will always be my storage in future if I need it. read more

I'm not sure if this gives any weight but I've used this storage facility since July of 2020 and the only thing they have great is they pick up your things and place then how ever they see fit in your unit. I travel often which around September I made it aware to Ed that their were several dropping from any rodents in my unit. Now their policy is no food in the units (which ifcourse I obliged, since I have no need to store food at a storage unit). But that is not the case for several companies of freight shilling like Tineo and La Linea shipping which store a copious amounts of food (causing rodents to be driven to them). My unit 231 has been infested, I even left Ed my key to take a look and offer some remedy or maybe move me into a cleaner unit. That was in October 2020 and we are now in April 2021, and he has not been able to offer any solution. To top things off which was very off putting and has occurred to several tenants while one of the three front desk attendants have worked there in the past 10 months (has gone through 3) was payment issues where the payments were made and someone was dropping the ball in documenting receipt of payment. This establishment is poorly ran and quite frankly I am disappointed since I was referred here initially. This entire facility on E 24th st needs renovation, fumigation, deodorization, better security, attentive customer service personnel and must importantly pest control. I feel bad for the new front desk Sam who has to fix and deal with all the issues that others have made for her that come with being employed here. This by far is not a rant out of frustration but a testament of the poor service and horrid conditions of the unit spaces. I firmly believe in integrity and honesty. Which if Ed would've kept his word when he stated he would take care of it. I would've overlooked a few things just like we all do. But, the blantly disregard for a paying customer which NY the way 95.05 a month for approximately 10 months plus a service fee, all just to have a pest infested unit and have 85% of your belongings stained and infected is down right an atrocity and needs to be rectified. I rented a uhaul from this location. started by giving me the keys to the wrong truck, no biggie, but then they forgot to give me the dolly i rented. I thought nothing of it until the next day when I found out they messed up my order. I was supposed to have it be a one way rather than a return, which costs twice as much. This was unfortunate as they assured me I could drop the truck off at any location. When I spoke to the manager to explain the issue, he was as rude as could be. He cut me off, would let me speak. When I told him I was unhappy with his customer service he told me to call the 800 number. Their customer service and skills are terrible, STAY AWAY. read more

Best and Cheapest storage in Paterson. A family member recommended Shield Self Storage it was convenient and I felt secure leaving my valuables there. Shield storage has great customer service, locks if you need one, month to month payments, great prices, and they accepted all major credit cards. Shield storage was really worth my money, because I compared them to other storages in Paterson and they were the best. read more
