I needed to move a small amount of stuff (less than a bedroom) from my childhood home in Connecticut to my house in California. There are tons of companies that will take small loads and combine with other small loads to make it worthwhile. I spent a lot of time researching, and I contacted lots of different moving companies. Many of them were desperate for my business, and frankly started harassing me by phone and email. Once I started digging further and reading customer reviews, practically all of them seemed to be horrific. As in the worst reviews I have ever read in my life, warning people to stay away, etc. Turns out that the majority of these moving companies are brokers who subcontract the job out to various other companies. In other words, you have no idea who will actually be picking your stuff up, who will be driving it across the country, who will be delivering, and so on. And so many people warned about their stuff getting lost or damaged and/or taking forever to finally arrive. I was actually about to just give up because I was not willing to take the risk. And thank goodness I found Cross Country Movers. They are a carrier, not a broker, which means that they do everything themselves and do not subcontract out any part of the job. I had a long phone call and multiple emails with Ari before I decided to hire them. He was patient and understanding and did not pressure me at all. Everyone with whom I interacted at this company was so helpful and accommodating. The two men who came to pick up my belongings at my mom's house in CT were wonderful. I received regular updates by text message with tracking info for the truck moving across the country. My stuff arrived safely exactly two weeks after pick up. And the fee was reasonable in my opinion - certainly less than I would have paid to rent a van and drive across country myself. I am extremely grateful to have found Cross Country Movers, and I would not hesitate to recommend them to anyone in a similar situation. It is so gratifying to know that there are reputable movers out there who provide personalized attention and care. THANK YOU, Cross Country Movers! read more

I was moving from New York to Boston last weekend with a great and professional company - Cross Country Movers. I moved because my application to Harvard got accepted, I will be getting my Masters Degree. And I was so excited of receiving this letter and I am still excited! My mom and my family were so happy, they were crying because it was a goal of my life to study in Harvard University. Because of this awesome news, I needed to move everything I had. I searched in Google, Yelp and mom helped to find the best moving company - Cross Country Movers. Why the best? Because of some things that other companies could not provide me with: 1. Knowledge of customer service. From the first I knew that this company cost a lot because of great customer service. A representative was very nice, professional woman who helped me answered all my questions. She gave me detailed answer for how to book, what to prepare and what to expect. I was satisfied from the beginning. Booking went very well too. A few days later I called her back and left a credit card for deposit and for the future references. 2. The day of actual moving. I could say that I am always late anywhere: business meetings, meetings with my friend. I wasn't expect movers to arrive on time. I would be absolutely fine with me 30 minutes before or after scheduled time. But no, they came at perfect time: 15 minutes to 10 am at the day of moving. They parked their truck, took all equipment and came to my apartment. I was moving from 1 bedroom apartment of 1050 sq feet. It is pretty big and I had so much stuff that I thought 3 movers are not enough. I was wrong. They finished loading within 1.5 hours not including packing. Packing took another hour. The movers were very fast, professional and east going people. I was very nice to work with them. They packed all my fragile stuff with special wrapping and all the boxes were bubbled from the inside and marked which room it belongs. 3. The day of arrival to Boston. The truck came to Boston in 4.5 hours. It's pretty fast according to heavy traffic. The unloading part went even faster. 1 hour and all my belongings were placed to the right rooms and all the furniture and mirrors were unwrapped and placed to the room as well. I would like to say thank you guys for such a hard work you did. I also would like to say thank the company who has these great guys able to work professionally. read more

Cross Country Movers - half of my stuff - Movers Near Me

Dear yelpers, I would love to share my experience with Cross Country Movers moving company that was held not so long ago. I was moving from New York to Atlantic City and I was looking for a company who can fit my needs: good price, responsible workers, great service, able to do moving from state to state. Some of the companies for filtered because of unsatisfactory of above reasons: too expensive, local only a horrible customer service. Believe me or not - your choice but my move was done within 2 hours of packing, loading, 3 hours of driving to the destination and 1.5 unloading. It is very sweet and fast! The movers arrived at 10 exact time in the morning and at 6 I was already by myself in my new house. When they came, they brought all the equipment to pack the boxes, to wrap the furniture, merger tapes to merger the wide of the door for big pieces of furniture, ooh I don't remember everything but they were well prepared. Taking the furniture is definitely their things! They loaded my item so carefully and with care and I couldn't wish more for them. By the way, the movers were not only high professional, they had that sense of how to talk to people right and how to act of in front of you a client. They were very smart and intelligent crowd. They unloaded as I said within 1.5 hour. They put everything in places in my new town house. They unwrapped all pieces of furniture as well. Great! That's what I needed! Thank you so much - for bringing these people up to make my moving day one of the most memorable day so far. read more

Cross Country Movers - perfect packing skills by the movers! - Movers Near Me

I used cross country movers to move to Colorado. They arrived promptly and packed my goods efficiently and with great care. Their initial quote was accurate and remained the price I paid. Cross Country arranged storage for my items in Colorado for two months and then delivered the good promptly upon my request. I was very happy with their overall service. read more

Cross Country Movers blew my mind. Its been a long time since my family and i moved, and the prices we got from different moving companies were confusing. Weight vs. Cubic feet, insurance, binding or non-binding questions. I avoided all the time and stress by just making one call to Cross Country Movers. Their price were in line with all the others, but their service was much better. Four things stood out with Cross Country Movers. Ones is how informative they are. They clearly explained the whole moving process, and gave us pointers on how to evaluate our different options. They are extremely smart and honest. Second is they are filled with Courtesy. They were cheerful with a great attitude. They were happy to answer our questions, and move all of our items, no matter how heavy or inconvenient it was. We even asked them to move a fridge twice after it didn't fit - they were happy to do so. Third is how quick they work. They were on-time and fast moving. They didn't stop to talk on the phone or smoke a cigarette. They worked quietly and quickly until the job was done. These guys barely took their break, and the only reason they did is because I made them. And last but not least is how careful the were. They wrapped our furniture and avoided any damage to our belongings or property. If you have to move, definitely choose Cross Country Movers. They won't disappoint you. read more

Had a really great experience with cross country movers that I felt like I needed to share. From the start Luke was super helpful with assessing our needs for the move. We did 3 video calls to ensure everything that was being moved in the house was captured. We moved from NY to FL. On the day of the move the team that showed up was prompt, professional and had the entire house packed rather quickly. Once our stuff arrived in Florida we received a call to schedule a delivery. Once again the team was prompt and professional. They brought everything in our new place assembled all the furniture as well. Best part not one single item was damaged or broken at arrival!!!! Would definitely use cross country movers in the future. As far as price they were definitely one of the most reasonably priced companies out there as some other companies quotes were just super expensive. Overall definitely a great experience. read more

We had used Cross Country Movers and they did a fantastic job. Me and my family were moving to a new home so I decided to get a quote from them for my personal move. We were under a hectic schedule but they were able to meet and beat the deadline. We had to be out of our house by 9:00 am, they were there at 7:00am with four people ready to work. They all came over and introduced themselves and shook hands with us. That's something you don't see very often anymore so we were both totally impressed. They had the entire house empty and loaded on the truck in two hours! We were so shocked. They were very cautious, respectful, and professional at all times. We got to our new house and they unloaded everything just as the boxes were labeled. Once again, being careful of box contents, furniture and walls and doors to prevent any breakage or scrapes or wall dings. When they were finished-which didn't take long, they all again shook our hands and thanked us. The cost was considerably less than the last two times we had moved and the quality, speed, care of items, professionalism and friendliness was above and beyond anything I had ever experienced or expected from a moving company. Without a doubt-these are the people to use. I will never have anyone else move us, they were amazing. Nothing was broken or banged up and they completed the job in less time than we had expected. Cross country movers are amazing-don't miss your chance to have the best in town. They can also come over and just move furniture around inside your home if you are unable to do it by yourself. I'm unsure of the cost on this so you would have to check with them. Again-5 stars isn't enough for Them. they are absolutely the best anywhere. Thanks so much Guys. You are amazing!! read more

The crew over at Cross Country did an outstanding job on our move, could not have anticipated a better overall process to have gone about like it did. Their whole staff is very friendly and ready to help you with any moving concerns that you may have and patiently prepared to answer all of your desired questions. Everything was done in a timely manner and there have been no damages on any of our belongings, as soon as we received everything I double checked of it. They arrived on time on both ends, never leaving us waiting or worried ever since the very first day of the entire move. The first day was the most nerve wrecking as it was when we had to face reality that we were moving out and we needed to actually clean everything up and move things out. The staff was very reasonable with their estimates and their arrival times, making sure to never slack off throughout the move. They were also very flexible on my schedule, my work schedule is pretty filled but they worked around it which was a huge plus. The moving crew arrived and worked hard throughout the whole time. I told the salesman over the phone that I had a big grand piano that needed to be moved with stairs and he told me not to worry, they'll be able to move anything that was originally moved in. Just as they said, the grand piano was disassembled and put back together in my new home which they did not have to do since they were not obligated nor reimbursed for that extra time but they still did it anyway, love these guys. Overall, this was the best company I could have possibly chosen for the job. Everything they promised they pulled through and provided. The moving coordinator even went out of his way to give us a call after the move to make sure we were fully satisfied and we really appreciated this extra gesture just checking in on us. I am very happy with their services and would recommend them to anyone looking for help moving. read more

Going with these guys was definitely one of the best decisions I've made in an extremely hectic week. We're expecting my father in law to move in with us, and we're moving apartments all in a couple of days so I needed the move to be flawless. We actually have a lot, I mean a giant collection of artwork and I was worried because we have had some disturbing experiences with movers in the past. However, I have to say Cross Country Movers was by far the best i have ever dealt with. They packed every single piece with care and extra padding and moved it thoughtfully. They would also always check in with me to see which piece should be next to be moved in. I was expecting all of this to be done in two days but this was all done in 1 day. I was so relieved to have saved so much time. This gave us more time to prepare our new home and we were able to have my father-in-law come in a day earlier than expected. The team was pleasant and better yet, professional. Usually with movers I feel like I am organizing a daycare with a bunch of grown men who don't really want to be there, but Cross Country Movers were different. They were very considerate, reliable, hard working, and all had a great attitude. And their prices are pretty good, this was money well spent... And to be honest even if their prices were more expensive I wouldn't mind paying it. Trust me, they are worth every dollar. Highly recommended. They will undoubtedly be my go to moving team from now on. read more

As soon as I talked with Cross Country Movers on the phone I knew I was in good hands. They were very professional and organized, and made sure I had all the information I requested throughout the process. Their price was the most affordable. And they did a free on call estimate as advertised, and then kept it to that estimate. They are very honest as well when it comes to letting you know what service you should go with. If they think two guys is enough they will just send them over, but if they suggest you have more people then they will tell you that as well. On the day of the move the team was timely and efficient, they were done in a little under six hours for five bedrooms and an office room. I had done most of the boxes but some packing still needed to be done, and nothing was broken. After taking everything out of the old house and after putting everything into the new house I did a check around the walls and house and saw no marks no scratches no dents. They were extremely careful and fast. They brought more than enough wrapping supplies and cushion to make sure all of the furniture would be packaged just right. I couldn't have asked for a better team. They truly go above and beyond to make sure you're moving experience goes well. Overall I am truly happy with them and would hire Cross Country Movers again. read more

I can't thank these guys enough! Moving itself can be a very annoying and long process, but with these guys it didn't seem hard at all. It came to the point where my parents had to move the furniture, but we kept postponing the process until we could find someone that could make this process as smooth and good for us as possible. I mentioned about moving my parents furniture to one of my co workers, and he had just recently moved to our area and recommended me to these guys. He was very pleased with the work that was done and i sure am too. I called them as soon as i got the phone number and the receptionist answering the phone was very nice and pleasant to talk to. They patiently answered all my questions (trust me there were a lot of them) My phone was cutting off and they didn't mind repeating the answers. The price i was quoted on was very reasonable as well, and actually even cheaper than i was thinking it would be. I was hoping the movers would be just as helpful and friendly and they were! I was very pleased with the work they did and my parents got really lucky to get these guys. Let me just say that my dad is not easy to please and he likes to complain about everyone's work that's not his. But even he had no room to complain. There was absolutely no damage, no mess, and their service was a lot faster and smoother than i initially expected. Some of the furniture at my parents house are a little heavy and the guys did not complain whatsoever. Also some of the doors at the house are a little narrow, but neither the property nor the furniture was damaged. I was afraid they might hit the walls and scratch them, but their professionalism didn't allow this to happen. Overall I am very pleased with my experience and would highly recommend this to anyone that's moving. If you want an experience that's fast, smooth and has good quotes, these are the guys to go to! read more

Mike, Zuki, and Arman and Nurzhan were very fast and professional with our move. Heavy items such as a refrigerator, washer, dryer, and couch made it over quick and smooth. read more

They showed up right on time and worked all day until 10pm. Our law office has very heavy furniture and never once did in hear a complaint. Very unhappy with the overall service. Was moving from houston to new york and 2 people showed up to pack my stuff. Told them i have blankets to use to wrap the furniture in and they refused to use mine since they brought blankets to use. Fast forward to delivery and unloading to destination-- the delivery guys told me that they will take the blankets since its theirs. I was pissed, since i was not informed of this. My understanding was since they refused the blankets i provided, that those that were used will be kept -- when in the first place Kelly (salesperson) knew that all my stuff will go straight to a storage unit. Hence, i need protection for my furnitures. Complained to customer service about the debacle and, spoke to Chris and in the middle of my tirade he started yelling at me. I was taken aback and asked him why hes yelling at me and he said and i quote, "because you wouldn't listen". Of course not, i was upset! He shouldnt be working in customer service if he yells at all the upset customers he talks to. Customer service is horrible! You'll be better off using another company. read more

Moving cross country is a daunting task, so many things to juggle at once. Using Cross Country Movers was one of the easiest decisions and pleasant experiences throughout the moving process. I chose the company based on multiple positive Yelp reviews and a great rating on Better Business Bureau. From the start they were a complete pleasure to work with. I was always kept up to date on when to expect the movers. The guys were respectful of my home, being careful to protect the flooring while packing/moving. They're courteous, friendly and took great care in packing/unpacking my items. They even packed a few items that weren't on my original list at no extra charge. I'd recommend this company to anyone making a move. It's one less thing to worry about! A+ read more

Cross Country moved us from Long Island NY to the Phoenix area. They were professional every step of the way, always responding quickly to our calls, and updating us along the way. The contract was clear and easy to understand and we felt we got a very fair deal. The men on both ends of our move were all courteous and hard working. Don't hesitate to try them. read more

I used to live in Nevada and I was pretty happy with that place. I loved the weather and Vegas was so close to me. My friend got into car accident and the worse happened, he died. I dont really want to remember that time but I quit everything I had, house, friends, parents and I moved to New York City. I dont really know why I made this decision But I thought I could help myself this way. Its been more than 3 years since I left my hometown and the feelings became more stronger and I feel more stronger myself and I decided to come back to Nevada. Of course, I had a big apartment, fully furnished, a lot of other small furniture items and other stuff. I didint even think of leaving everything how I did when I was moving, no, actually running away from Nevada. At this time I did it with my brain up. And the funny thing happened - my friend who was sharing the apartment with me decided to leave big apple with me haha so and it turned out as a big project. A truly professionally was built the whole process of work - from telephone consultation to unpacking the last box in a new apartment. I was lucky, or it always like this - I do not know, but we called to consultant on Thursday, and on Sunday I was scheduled to get out of this city. I was moving from a large two bedroom apartment in two bedroom large apartment in Nevada. So many things - furniture (requiring prior dismantling), machinery, bales of clothes, a lot of kitchen small things, many living room floor flowers - all moved in one piece! The work was done by 4 movers. Guys came at 11 am (not late) and at 17.30 pm they have left already. All packaging has been on them, in advance, we almost nothing collected, dismantling of upholstered furniture, sofas and the decent of large equipment by hand from 9th floor (in the apartment complex there was no freight elevator). And the place where I was moving had no elevator as well. The movers worked without any problems, quickly. Very happy that decided not to move by myself on my own and I trusted my movers. I will definitely recommend this company if you moving from state to state. They are great, no complains. read more

I used to live in New York and I moved a month ago to Chicago due to my new job offer my company offered me. They offered me a course (paid hotels, some $ for food) during one year. I was not planning of moving all my apartment but when I was trying to pack all my clothes and my most needed furniture and I failed. I was so indeed of the truck and professional help that I started to ask friends if they knew a good moving company who specialized on state to state moving. I got a few contacts and I called the first number. It was Cross Country Movers moving company. The conversation between me and rep was about 15 minutes. I asked about price of the volume of work the movers would get, time frame, deposit and etc. I was very confident to say yes to this company. I didn't get a package of packing and unpacking service because I have 2-5 piece of furniture, old ones that I was planing to leave on Chicago after I will be done with my course and boxes that I packed by myself. I literally was needed a few men to carry all these things and I found them - movers of Cross Country movers. They came earlier than the moving appointment was scheduled. They checked my place, checked the stairs and gates. Then they reparked their truck a little bit closer to the door and they started taking out my stuff. The moving process for started at 10 am on Thursday and it took them 2.5 hours to get the truck going. They were very confident of what they were doing. They were flipping the boxes with care and with very good speed. They were not lazy. At the end of the loading, they checked with me if their arrival to Chicago earlier or later okay with me. I talked a few minutes with them and they seemed to me very high intelligent people, knew how to manage their time and life. I like this kind of attitude. And yes, the truck came to Chicago 30 minutes earlier than expected time of arrival. They spent almost 2 hours of unloading the goods and they left. Overall, I got a very good experience in this moving process. I didn't have any bad feedbacks. Thank you guys for the quick help and I hope you can move me back to New York in a year :D read more

Just used Cross Country Movers for a Huge move. Excellent service with fast response time. From the moment they provided an estimate to the movers themselves the service was phenomenal. They handled my belongings with great care and I can't seem to find anything bad to say about my experience, I'll be sure to use them again if I move in the future. read more

I have used Cross Country Movers twice in the last two years. Once with my parents and the other time when i moved from Los Angeles to New York, and I have been nothing but satisfied with their service. The staff is a team of all around great people. They are professional, friendly, and convey trust and confidence to the client. In both of my moves, I found the moving team to be working hard to get me moved in the fewest hours necessary without compromising the security of my belongings. I was in a bit of a rush because I was starting work here. I truly feel that the staff works with the client's best interests in mind. In my last move, when my landlord tried to deny my confirmed and documented elevator reservation, the Cross Country Movers staff was able to professionally push back and advocate for me, resulting in my elevator reservation being honored and a positive relationship with the landlord being maintained. This really saved all of us a headache, considering I live on the fourth floor. When I told everybody I was moving to New York, they told me everything is fast-pace, and Cross Counry Movers definitely proved that to me. I have recommended to both my friends and family members. After working with, I will never consider another moving company. read more

This company's service is an actual dream come true after all of that stress and headaches we had to endure in order to find a quality company. I wasn't expecting such hospitality from them, from the very moment the gentlemen who helped us via telephone answered he sounded very mellow and personable. The service was super cheap for how meticulous they are to detail not ignoring any small thing and all the movers went the extra mile to save you time and money. After seeing how low the quote was, I assumed that they would do minimalist work, but to my surprise they helped me pack, move, and transport my things of my old house to the new one. The price they estimated was so irrelevant compared to the awesome service they offered to us, keen attention to detail was a priority for them and they had groups of movers in each room. My parents was so reluctant to let them move my huge glass dining table that my grandfather made, but they settled my nerves once they let me know how they were to package it and they showed me how nicely they packed it away in their truck. You do not want to mess around with your personal goods! If you want ensured safety, you should definitely go for this moving company and nobody else. Not only did this place save me so much money, but also so much time! There is only so much time we have in this world, and the less time spent stressing on transportation the better. In my opinion, there was no way they could've went any quicker than they did. Everything was handled quickly and effortlessly in such a manner that was aesthetic and efficient at the same time. They were so organized and cooperated very well together which made their job much easier and helped keep our pockets from drowning if you catch what I mean. I appreciate the effort this company has put into my transition, they deserve over five stars, no doubt! Thank you guys so much. I'd recommend them to everyone without hesitation to anyone who is looking for a move in the local area. read more

Terrible service. Was quoted one price. I called back to confirm the order/move, then they raised the price 20%. Dodged a bullet. I can't imagine what surprises their billing department had in store for me. read more

I would absolutely recommend this company to anyone. I've moved across the country a handful of times and have never experienced the kind of peace of mind that I did with this company. You will NOT regret using this company for your moving needs. read more

Go with these guys! Words cannot explain how good they are at moving far distances. Matthew (can't remember last name) was my priority contact. It's great that they don't put your through to customer service or anything miserable like that since there are a lot of moving parts when it comes to moving a long distance. I am happy to say that all my updates were easily communicated throughout the whole move process. I kept having to call in and change up the itemized list. Their price is guaranteed based on the list of items, so make sure it is accurate. I wound up having to change the list numerous times without any issue. I guess they use some kind of software that takes all the weights, distance, etc into consideration in order to calculate the final cost. I'm glad to report that the price was never changed without my consent and no hidden fee's or anything like that. read more

Don't believe any of the positive reviews I'm sure they are fake. These guys are horrible. They low ball the quote and don't show up as promised. They will call you the night before and it's one big circle jerk. Find another mover and save a lot of aggravation!!! read more
