They were wonderful, helpful pleasant, on time I would certainly recommend them to anyone.

Everything began great. The salesman come to the home to give me a quote and it seemed fine. Then came moving day. Extra charges for extra boxes and extra handling. OK it didn't seem worth a fight so I approved. When they started to deliver the furnishings each and every piece had some degree of damage. Scratches, dents, chips, torn and dragged upholstery. Refrigerator doors on a year old unit each and every door and drawer has small dents in it. Looks like the pieces were tossed around. A couple of furnishings were severely damaged. They acknowledged the damage and sent me some BS form that stated their liability. Bullshit. I had my attorney send a strong letter. I received no response. Next I'm Heading to court. These people are horrible. I wouldn't recommend them to move a box of pillows. Horrible se read more

We would have given Molloy Brothers a 5 star and they really deserve the best rating. Their team was top notch. Bernie was the crew chief and did a great job moving the things we needed down from NJ to South Carolina. Very glad they were able to pack our piano and bedroom set. Only a slight scratch from the delivering team on the bedroom set, but piano (baby grand) was delivered and set up in perfect condition. They didn't move all of our things, but mostly the delicate items and did a great job. The 1 star deduction was for Jade who as their customer service person needs better training in customer service. I'm sure you're busy, Jade, but we all are and it doesn't take much to be responsive. Try a little harder, it makes a big difference!! read more

Don't use them to pack your belongings. They did a terrible job packing our marble mantle clock. After telling them there was a loose piece..the clock arrived without the piece. So it can't be repaired. The clothes were dumped in the bottom if the wardrobe boxes or overloaded so the bar collapsed and the clothes arrives in the bottom of the boxes. Mayflower settled up. Be sure to list all your "high value" items. read more

Molloy managed our move from NY to SC recently and the service was outstanding. While it's not always the case, our items were picked up on a Saturday and dropped off on the following Tuesday - 4 days! We greatly appreciated the efficiency. The gentlemen who physically moved us were professional and personable. We opted to used Molloy via Mayflower as my family has used them in the past and always had positive experiences. Even if an item was accidentally damaged, they sent someone to repair it and it looked better than before. It's hard to find trustworthy movers, with binding quotes and kind coordinators (talking to you Hope!). Thank you Molloy! read more

Molloy just handled my move from NY to CA. Although it took a little longer than I had anticipated, I'm very pleased. It took a little longer than usual due to the holiday season, so it's completely understandable. My things were completely secured and intact when they arrived, everything was heavily wrapped to avoid damage. The driver (Ray) was extremely pleasant and experienced. The whole moving process was very professional. The clerk Rose and Hope i talked over phone was very nice, they arrange the on site quote very quick,.after order they called several times to confirm delivery in advance and ask if i was satisfacted after moving. The three people come on time with a big and clean truck. They understand my requirement and treat all the furniture carefully. They wrapped all the moving stuff with patience. After moving to new place,they assemble all the furnitures quick and efficient. Overall, I had a good experience with Mayflower (who used Molloy Bros. as their agent), and I'd be likely to use them if I needed movers again. Both the loading and unloading crews were very friendly and helpful. They showed up on time (in fact, the unloading crew was a little early) and did their jobs well. I also liked a lot of the features Mayflower had to offer (ex.- personalized website, instructional videos for packing), but some things could have been executed better. For ex., I had my original estimate done virtually, instead of having an adjuster come out to my home. This actually went very smoothly and worked quite well once it was underway. However, I had some difficulty scheduling the appointment in the first place. (One person told me I had an appointment for someone to come to my home; the next person told me no one was available, so we planned to do the estimate virtually; then the person who did my estimate seemed to have had my appointment recorded for a different time than I was told.) I also didn't get clear instructions/guidance re: how the virtual estimate would work (even when I called to ask) before it happened. This was perhaps the most puzzling (and annoying) thing about my experience: Mayflower assigned one person to be my "move coordinator." It seemed the point of this was so that there would be one person I could contact with any problems/questions, one point person I could always reach no matter what stage the move was in. I thought this was a great feature BUT over the course of my move, about *four different people* were identified to me, at one point or another, as my move coordinator. This partly defeated the purpose of having a move coordinator (I wasn't always sure who to call; I'd call one person and then get contacted by someone else, etc.). Some of my property also got damaged. A floor lamp got its base bent and my piano keyboard got a crack in its plastic casing. Several of my boxes were crushed and books were bent, though most things within the crushed boxes themselves were fine. I have a claim pending about the damaged lamp, so I don't know yet how that will turn out. But, overall, I'd say the movers did a pretty good job, given that it was a cross-country move. read more

Please forgive typos. I wrote this with my phone and thumbs. The mayflower company literally hired five independent moving teams to move me. It was a fiasco as each subsequent team blamed the preceding one of not completing their assigned tasks well, and refusing to complete different aspects of the move. So trucker's team refused to crate TV, dismantle the bed or crate my two antique mirrors because they said Malloy's packing team were supposed to do those things. The packing team lied to my face for five minutes trying to convince me to not crate the tv but wait until the truckers team to do it next day. John the trucker didn't even have the tools to crate the TV. The man and woman molloy team left my $5000 4 x 5 ' 50lb mirror in a box literally half covered without using cardboard let alone the wood crate it needed. So the trucker's team loudly and aggressively complained about all the aspects of the move they felt were not under their preview. On the move-in a new crew showed up with trucker. John barged in before they were finished and said Told me he is over his schedule by two hours and there is leaving. I told him that he had moved some other clients furniture Into my home and I literally had to convince the crew that the two tables did not belong to me. He gave me no time to go over inveNtory even though i was meticulous writing down the numbers the crew called out. The Malloy packing team, after boasting about their 17 years of experience, put stickers on my 9 packed-full duffel bags and suitcases. If that is not the dumbest thing, i do not what is. None of the duffle bags arrived with stickers and many other items were missing from inventory. I sent this document to jade. I think there were 30 missing pieces. Now that i have been through my things i don't believe anything is missing, which is just plain dumb luck As john is ushering his crew out the door, i told him he needs to put the sofa legs on and "uncrate" the TV. And put it on the stand. Tv ways 120 lbs He said the sofa and tv were wrapped so it was not his crew's job to take all the plastic and tape and put legs on sofa or deal with tv because it was also wrapped. I ended up putting the legs on my 100lb sofa and unwrapping my other sofa When i got angry John finally unwrapped the TV but again refused to do his job with the sofa. He said that was the job of the unwrapping crew that were coming the next day. So When the unwrapping crew showed up on the final day which was yesterday they looked at the sofa that was wrapped in plastic and tape and all the pillows which were wrapped in plastic and tape and said that is not their job. They refused to do it. I ended up unwrapping my 8' sofa from reams of plastic and piles of tape. I then I lifted the sofa by myself and somehow attach the four legs All of this is on top of this was the total mess the management of the Malloy office team made of my $1200 insurance policy. The Molly office team literally fielded five phone calls from me on two days of the move-out and did nothing. Not even call me back. They responded not at all to the moveout issues I was having with John and his crew. Finally, after spending $1200 on insurance and telling the Malloy office both in email and on the phone to add items to high value, failed to do so. I have $1000 shirts and a $8,000 coat. Those were not high value listed because of Malloy utter incompetence. Finally when i threatened to not pay, Malloy made one good decision and hired an excellent third party vendor to assemble the bed. I can not imagine why a move using 4 teams from 4 different contractors with zero over sight from the Malloy office would ever go smoothly. Add to that A trucker with some kind of severe learning disability or personality defect or both. I Will post a version of this this email all over social media. I have been in advertising for 25 years and social media advertising is something i am very familiar with. I will post in the hope i can prevent other poor souls from ever hiring Malloy or Mayflower. Now on to the insurance department and trying to get reimbursed for my things that were broken. I do not expect a good result with them either. read more

We had heard horrible stories from family and friends before our move and did not know what to expect. Our moving experience was enormously pleasant from beginning to end. The movers arrived 30 minutes before their arrival time and introduced themselves. They loaded the van for our move from New Jersey to Maryland and were always courteous and cheerful. They were especially careful not to scrape walls and floors and our house remained pristine. Our van arrived the next morning and, again, the transition was flawless. We are in the process of moving from New Jersey to a different state, I have been getting quotes from the different moving companies and Mayflower Molloy would be the final quote. The previous 4 quote went off great! This however was a horrific experience. The person giving us this quote was Adam M. First he was late getting here, he did not apologize for being late and then was rude, very rude throughout the entire process. All he wanted to do was argue with me the entire time. All I wanted was a quote that would be based on the same information given to the 4 other movers, so I could compare them Apples to Apples. Finally it came to a head and I told him to get out of my home, and began seeing him out. When we got to the piano room he turned around and tried to go chest to chest with me , being very threatening, I told him to get out now and he continued to threaten me with video he said he was taking of me in my home. That is a complete and total violation of my privacy. If this is the way the sales person acts when in my home, I can not recommend this company to anyone. I do not know if they are great at moving people or not, but the customer service is the worst I have ever experienced. I have called Mayflower and reported the incident and spoken with a Hope from Molloy Brothers. She was great was Louise from Mayflower. I am glad I took time before posting this review as it could have been much worse. I would not suggest you let Adam into your home. read more

Two antique pieces severely damaged - legs ripped off - treasured alabaster sculpture of sentimental value disappeared, air con unit disappeared, "fragile" boxes crushed, wardrobe box crushed to half height. Saw one man dropping a box from a height. Was promised that truck would remain in secure facility overnight but crew said they stayed in hotel; have asked company three times to confirm where it was, without reply. Have asked for details of head of company three times - ignored. Have warned two families about to move to avoid this company. Wish I had never heard of them. read more

This review is was past due...A couple months ago I hired them to relocate my elderly parents from NYC to Los Angeles and needed a company that was on top of their game, compassionate and had lot's of patience for stressed out older folks and Molloy Brothers met and surpassed my expectations. I couldn't recommend them any more and that starts at the the very beginning when their estimator came to the apt and put my folks right at ease with a very professional and efficient yet soft sell approach then followed by the great crew who packed up the apt, the incredible movers who transported their 50 years of life belongings and memories including a valuable grand piano and dozens of pieces of artwork of which nothing got broken in transit. The Molloy Brothers team made our move from New York City to Colorado easy. Jack Rose was our relocation consultant and was very patient as we tried to figure out what exactly we wanted to move and how we wanted to move it. We also got great advice on packing and how to protect our valuables. Then the moving pick up was very seamless. The team was lead by Guan. They moved all of our stuff extremely fast and were very meticulous about packing our valuables, which included an antique vase, tv/stereo and more. Our stuff arrived two days after the earliest arrival date and everything came in one piece. Ron Wilson was our driver and Edwin and Jacob were fantastic movers. They were also fast with unloading and patient while I went through the items to confirm they were not damaged. Dennis & Andrew took exceptional care of all my belongings - they were sure to clarify if I had a preference as to where the furniture/items should be placed. From start to finish I have to say this was one of the best movers I ever had. They were courteous, well organized and very professional. They protected my belongings from start to finish. Marie, our estimator and Diane, our coordinator were both really great to work with, very responsive and helpful with all of our move details. Michael, the lead mover was highly communicative, efficient, organized and directed his crew exactly as we wanted. He made sure they were careful not only with our things, but with the walls, the floors and doorways. In the end, his efficiency and attentiveness saved us some time and materials which resulted in a small refund off of our original estimate. I moved from NJ to NC. The cost was $12,000. They did limited packing and 6 weeks storage. They estimated my belongings twice. They underestimated my belongings, I had to call college hunks 2 hours before the truck left. 2 pieces of furniture could not be taken out of the lower level (converted TV room in finished cellar). The furniture was brought down with no problem, and no change in structure. Wall unit had to be broken apart and cedar chest that was in my family for years had to be left behind. They ran out of room in the truck. The were movers were throwing empty boxes in my driveway and leaving the boxes till I insisted they remove them. When it came to deliver the furniture they left 1/3 of it in NJ. There answer it happens, it's unfortunate. They could not give me a specific date when I called. The delivery came after another week. Several pieces of furniture scratched. My Mother's china, was received in a dented box, with many pieces and lenox crystal were broken. Malloy packed the crystal and china. The file cabinet was so dented the draws could not even open. I asked to speak to Jim Malloy, but it seems that he is never there. I would NOT use this company or recommend them. The people who wrote good review were fortunate to say the least. This was not my experience. read more

For once, we did not lose any boxes during transit and were not hit with any extra hidden costs (e.g. packing tape, boxes). Used Molloy Brothers Moving & Storage in two different scenarios and had an excellent experience twice! Our first experience involved moving and packing an entire house full of furniture to a storage unit. The movers professionally packed and prepared all of our furniture for long term storage. Nothing was broken, and everything was packed neatly into our storage unit. Our Second experience involved taking the furniture from the unit to our new place and another storage unit. Again, Malloy Brothers Moving & Storage was able to exceed our expectations for a seamless move. They treated our furniture as if it was their own. They were able to separate our furniture based on it being moved into our apartment or into our storage, preventing our furniture having to be sorted in a parking lot at the final destination. Both Bill and Hope were able to accommodate our needs, on short notice during the holiday season, we really appreciated it. We have used Molloy Brothers on a couple of recent moves -- ranging from within a neighborhood, to within a building, to 35 miles to a whole new town. They have always been absolute professionals, ensuring the move goes smoothly, and efficiently. In addition, they go above and beyond. For example they carried our sofa up 16 flights of stairs when it would no longer fit in the renovated building elevators!! Do NOT hire these movers. We signed up with them to move us from Brooklyn to Atlanta. I felt like the binding estimate made more sense than the way the competitors work (where you pay more or less depending on the weight). However our estimate was wildly inaccurate and the packers complained. I ended up getting out of the charge but it would have been an additional $300. They also delivered on the last day of our window after promising THREE earlier delivery dates. Communication was non-existent. I had to constantly call them to find out where our possessions were. And the kicker? Every single piece of furniture has some kind of damage. They completely lost a table top and when I called to complain, they said they'd get right back to me. But - BIG SURPRISE - they never called and instead just mailed me a claim form. Bastards. read more

We recently moved across the country and would like to share some of our experience with Molloy Bros. Our first contact was Gavin who came to the house and explained the whole process, then he did a walk through to begin the estimate. We checked the appropriate permits on DOT and also found very little in the way of complaints. Gavin returned some weeks later and we refined the schedule and fine tuned the process and our work lists and packing techniques. Molloy's website is chock full of useful info along these lines and Gavin was very helpful in our learning curve. Once we were semi formal we met Diane who smoothed out all the "squint print" and made the entire ordeal manageable. Diane was always available to answer questions and offer tips and advice. Next we were paid a visit by Steve the manager, he did another walk though for confirmation and to finalize fees and make sure we were on track. On packing day Driver Doug and co-pilot Norma came along with the Brooklyn Boys, Jose, Mel and Rich and set to work and didn't even stop for lunch! The next day loading was complete a day early. Off they went! We met up at the new house a few days later, right on time. The weather was challenging but Doug and the local crew made it all look easy, quite impressive indeed. I'm not sure I'll ever make another move like this but if I did I would hire Molloy Bros again without another thought. read more

My husband and I moved from Livingston, NJ to Vail, Arizona. We had been in our house since 1978. The team at Molloy Brothers Moving & Storage (Harrison, NJ) were beyond terrific. Marie Mulvaney, the Relocation consultant who booked our move- provided us with such good information and really sold us on using them for our long distance move. She was helpful, very funny and gave us confidence that Molloy Bros would take care of our "stuff". Diane Gaines ( I never met her but feel I know her) was the on the phone coordinator. She also was terrific and took the time to call us and to make sure we were informed and happy. Ray Dooley, the actual on site moving coordinator and the guy who drove our possessions and delivered them, along with his band of moving strong men were careful, considerate, courteous, professional and moving "angels". What a fantastic group of guys at both the NJ pick up and the Vail Arizona delivery!!! All of our belongings arrived on time, undamaged and the guys even put together stuff for us. We highly recommend this company. Long distance moving is not easy but they made it stressless for us. If we were to do it again we would use them again. read more

I would like to add an update about my previous review. I have since been contacted by the CFO of the company, who was unaware of the problem I was having. I will and have never said that the movers, nor the packers were the problem, my only problem was the lack of communication on the part of his company. He informed me that he would get to the bottom of the problem as to why I was never contacted back, and as to why there was such a big discrepancy in the estimate. He also informed me about issues within the office. I am happy to say that we came to an amicable amount of refund. I will not lie and say that I wish this did not have to happen, but I will also say that the quality of work from all the people in this move was worth it if you are looking for a move that goes smooth. read more

The estimate and organization of the move went very smooth, however, I did have to keep following up with my move coordinator. The move itself was interesting. On moving day, the truck showed up late and the elevator reservation was only for a 4 hour window. The truck was loaded successfully when I found out that the truck was going to be emptied and my belongings were going to be reloaded onto another truck. A week went by and I was told that my belongings would be delivered on day x. I received a call 3 days prior to day x that the truck would be arriving in 2 hours, which caused me to have to leave my new job without notice for the day. I received a 2nd call from the driver 2 hours later, informing me the truck was selected for inspection which caused them to run late. Upon arrival, the situation went from bad to worse when I was told that the keys to open the truck were left in New Jersey. Which brings me to question the inspection. How can a truck be inspected if there were no keys to open the truck?? The condition of my things proved to me that they were tossed around evidenced by the nicks sustained to multiple items of furniture, yet they were all wrapped and one of my end tables was destroyed. I would recommend Mayflower drop Molloy Brothers out of Edison NJ as a local contractor and I would advise not to use Mayflower if Molloy Brothers out of NJ is coordinating and conducting the move. read more

I have moved dozens of times locally and internationally--9X in Manhattan alone. I was skeptical about Molloy Bros because of a review but the manager called me to address all my concerns and assured me that I would get their best team. The key to moving is a flat rate and tight control over inventory. Chris, who does the estimates was thorough and followed up constantly. But the best part of the move was Alan's team. They were bright, positive, professional and careful. And they were a joy to be around -- fun and upbeat. They didn't pack most of my personal belongings (my nod to cost control) but what they did pack was done well. In fact it was my first move--out of dozens-- where nothing was broken, missing or damaged. That alone is a miracle. Alan wrapped a glass top to a table like it was a Rembrandt. I was concerned about time --hence the flat rate-- but it was worth it. If that inexpensive top had broken it would have been a hassle --and time consuming to replace it. Alan's team also addressed all my requests without any attitude -- they were respectful, concerned and quick to comply. It has been a long time since I have experienced "the customer is always right" attitude. I cannot recommend Alan's team with any more enthusiasm or respect. Be sure to ask for them. read more
