Moved in November from Westchester to the Catskills. They were right on time and had everything packed up in a reasonable amount of time. It was a long drive for them, and unfortunately, they did not arrive until 5 PM because one of the trucks broke down. What luck! When they finally arrived they were great, considering it was pitch black outside. Everything was moved in and set up promptly. Highly unprofessional outfit - they're out to scam you from the first interaction on. When we requested a quote, they stated it'd be a 3 hr minimum. They neglected to inform us they'd charge for a minimum of 1 hr additional for "travel time" (yes, you're paying them north of $100 just to show up at your door). They subsequently caused siginificant damage to our property and left our children's room in a dangerous state. We've asked them to compensate us for the damage and have yet to hear back from them. We'll have to spent north of $500 to repair the damage they've caused. I ended up being shaken down for the overcharged payment on the spot as the guys refused to leave our apartment and my wife & kids didn't feel safe. I'd recommend Yelp remove this business from the website altogether. There's no reason these hustlers should get free advertising considering their business practices. read more

My husband and I moved from the city to the Hudson Valley last month but our home was still be renovated on; we decided to stay with family out of state for 30 days to give our construction team some more time to complete the project. I'm 8 months pregnant and my husband and I just got back into town, realizing that all of our stuff and furniture was still stacked and sitting in one small part of the home in boxes. Two days ago, I was so overwhelmed but I called this company just to see if they could provide quick moving services. We needed help moving our furniture from room to room, up and downstairs to get our home in a more livable state. Not only was Scott (sales person) super responsive and kind, he was able to book us a slot for today (just 24 hours later!) and the cherry on top was the team he sent!!! Quan, Maurice and Ernest were the most amazing crew I've ever met. That's not an over exaggeration either. They were right on time despite the rainy cold weather, they were so sweet and better yet, the service they provided was above and beyond exceptional. They were so efficient, communicative and careful. They followed our directions to a tee! Seriously, I could not have asked for a better experience. Floyd and his crew did a fantastic job moving my elderly dad out of our family home of 45 years into an apartment. The team worked hard, smart and extremely well together. The guys joked with my super stressed out dad, got to know our family and genuinely seemed to like both their job and people in general. That's a big deal and NOT easy to find in a moving company. After nearly four months of planning with the "RELOCATION SPECIALIST" from MOVING THE RIGHT WAY....my MOVE WITH THIS COMPANY WAS A TOTAL DISASTER. BEWARE OF THIS COMPANY !! Liars and thieves! REMEMBER YOU MUST GET A DETAILED ESTIMATE IN WRITING PRIOR TO THE ACTUAL MOVE DATE!! OTHERWISE AT THE END OF YOUR MOVE YOU WILL HAVE AN EXUBERANT AMOUNT STILL DUE! For starters, the three movers assigned to my job were very unprofessional, they arrived nearly two hours late, then once on my property .....the lazy older man spent all his time in the truck SMOKING. The other two men spent nearly an hour taking apart a bed that shouldn't have been touched or MOVED!! Upon their late arrival, I personally walked the men thru the home and gave VERY specific instructions on which items were being moved. ALSO The day before the move I spoke to the relocation specialist to discuss the shrink wrapping of all my larger pieces of furniture. ONLY TWO PIECES WERE WRAPPED and it was done in a sloppy slipshod manner. The corners of my sectional were exposed and there was a large hole in the plastic when placed in the storage unit. No CARE OR RESPECT given to your personal possessions. After sitting in my car in front of my home for nearly an hour AND NOT SEEING ANY of the MOVERS BRINGING OUT MY BELONGINGS I DECIDED TO GO INSIDE TO CHECK ON THEM. Well, one was on the phone, one was STILL in the truck smoking and the last one was still trying to figure out how to remove simple screws from a piece of furniture NOT INCLUDED in THE MOVE??? I hired this moving company with the expectation of professional movers, what I got were 3 men from the hood. No sense of decorum or respect!! Why are you smoking in the truck around my belongings??? STAY AWAY FROM THIS COMPANY!! GET A FINAL $$ DUE....prior to the ACTUAL move AND DO NOT FALL FOR THE OLD "IT WAS JUST AN ESTIMATE" B.S. I've worked with Floyd and his men three times with BIG furniture. These guys are terrific. They work constantly, they're honest, cheerful, generous, and totally reliable. It's very difficult to trust strangers to roam around your house and pick up your prized furniture and carry it off--but Floyd is working with his guys the whole time and NOTHING is taken for granted. We bought our son a loft bed that needed to be assembled. Floyd contacted me right back. He offered to come the same day on a late Saturday afternoon(which was today!) Very professional! A+ guy and his worker was great too. Even hung out with my kids little kids while assembling this massive bed! In the year 2020 that means a lot! Some companies won't even acknowledge your kids! These guys were the best! Super professional - wrapped everything and packed carefully. Moving from a home of nearly 40 years to an apartment so there was a lot of stress separating what was to go. Highly disappointing experience! I found them very unprofessional on multiple fronts. Firstly, Floyd came to our apartment to survey the furniture and said they'll easily move our furniture in 3 hours. He even agreed on doing a flat rate for the entire move. But the quotation he sent later mentioned a hourly rate. Secondly, the three people who came to do the actual move were very slow. They used manual screw drivers to dismantle my bed and dresser which took a lot of time. The took 5 hours to complete the move. On top of that, they scratched multiple peices of my furniture. There were 2 dents on the headboard and another scratch on the foot board of the bed. They also scratched one of the night stands and the TV table. I was very sad and disappointed as my furniture was new and expensive. They tried to compensate by giving an hour and a half off my total bill of 5 hours (which was anyway 1.5 times the estimate they gave) and also brought a pencil to cover the scratches they made but that didn't really boost my spirit. If you can avoid these guys you will be doing yourself a huge favor. Not only are they slower than molasses(burning the clock) but when they break the feet off of a chair because they're very rough with items, even right in front of me, they lie and say I did it myself. When confronted the guy starts talking negatively about my mom and becomes extremely confrontational ... lol... professionalism at its best. Called the manager and he failed to do anything saying I lied about the furniture. Insurance is .60 cents a pound and your employee insulted the customer... wow. They smoke on the job, and literally stand around talking to each other and on the phone between loads. The same guy who dishes out insults leaves the job, is gone 30 minutes and acts as if that's how their moving jobs go..It's as if I'm paying them to grace me with their presence. Needless to say, they lack a good work ethic, have extremely poor customer service skills and frankly, are trained incorrectly if their actions, or lack thereof, are condoned by the management. Floyd was really nice and turned around all questions and requests quickly (we moved to a condo with a lot of rules and paperwork requirements). When we got to the home, they put the heavy stuff where it needed to be, and treated the hardwood floors and new carpet gingerly. As with all moves, especially hourly billed kinds- the more organizing, labeling and packing you do before move day, the less time it will take. Floyd came by a week in advance in order to provide a quote that was as accurate as possible. Before deciding to go with Moving The Right Way, I called around to get other quotes. Floyd's quote was 25% less than the competitors. On move day, the crew quickly disassembled the few items that required it, and carefully wrapped the beds and the fragile Ikea bookshelves. Everything was packed into the truck as compactly as possible. The move included dozens of boxes full of books and the usual furniture. I heard no complaints and saw no scratches. We were charged the exact hourly rate stated previously by Floyd. The total cost was under his original quote since the crew completed the move 30min ahead of schedule. read more

This is the review for the 2nd set of crew who came back to the house to bring the stuff in from the pod after our renovation. Out of 3 people, only one really knows what he was doing. One of the staff is a young thin teenager who can hardly carry anything. The other one was super slow and seems high.
