for starters they took the time to come out and do a proper estimate. Floyd and team were great. it was a difficult move from a logistics perspective and they over came obstacles without missing a beat. the movers were friendly, showed empathy and we frankly had a lot of laughs during a stressful time. they came in very close to the estimate which is amazing given the circumstances. i strongly recommend MTRW. read more

I am so glad I used Moving the Right Way for my recent move. It was a long day and the guys showed up professional and friendly, and 11 hours later they were still professional and smiling. They were careful with my items and thoughtful in how they set things up in the new place. I would definitely use them again and recommend them to my family and friends. read more

Moved in November from Westchester to the Catskills. They were right on time and had everything packed up in a reasonable amount of time. It was a long drive for them, and unfortunately, they did not arrive until 5 PM because one of the trucks broke down. What luck! When they finally arrived they were great, considering it was pitch black outside. Everything was moved in and set up promptly. I felt bad for them that they were going to get home so late, but they were troopers to the end. Really nice bunch of guys! And thanks again to Scott for his great customer service! read more

Very unprofessional! Destroyed my dresser and lost items with the move. I called the office no response. Very disappointed.

Highly unprofessional outfit - they're out to scam you from the first interaction on. When we requested a quote, they stated it'd be a 3 hr minimum. They neglected to inform us they'd charge for a minimum of 1 hr additional for "travel time" (yes, you're paying them north of $100 just to show up at your door). They subsequently caused siginificant damage to our property and left our children's room in a dangerous state. We've asked them to compensate us for the damage and have yet to hear back from them. We'll have to spent north of $500 to repair the damage they've caused. I ended up being shaken down for the overcharged payment on the spot as the guys refused to leave our apartment and my wife & kids didn't feel safe. I'd recommend Yelp remove this business from the website altogether. There's no reason these hustlers should get free advertising considering their business practices. read more

I don't do many reviews, but the service we got today for Move The Right Way today was definitely above and beyond expectations. It was the first time I ever hired movers. They came recommended via my local FB town page with overwhelmingly great reviews. From the moment I called, I felt at ease the entire process. They really know what they are doing, how to wrap things, move things without accident, and how to disassemble/assemble my furniture A++ read more

The company is awesome. I emailed a request for a quote and they responded quickly. The quote was spot on, it was a good value for the price. Floyd was great at communicating. Scheduling was easy and they even showed up earlier than expected. Everything was handled with care, wrapped and protected with no additional costs added to the job. I truly had a great experience with this company and would recommend them to anyone. Life should be this easy! read more

We have used Moving the Right Way twice. They go above and beyond to provide high quality service. They also pay attention to their customers during the move. There was always someone there to help us with whatever we were doing. Moving is a stressful time and yet on both of our moves the day ended with a feeling of genuine gratitude for Floyd and team. Their rates are fantastic on top of that! read more

There are not enough good things to say about Moving the Right Way! They were fantastic! They made a move we did not want to happen, easy! They are funny and happy and the job they do is excellent! I never had to have someone pack for me before and was very nervous, what a great job they did. Everything arrived safe and sound and they even moved everything exactly where I wanted it, even after changing my mind and having them move it around again. We've worked with Floyd twice now. Once 6 years ago to move from an apartment to larger apartment, and a second time earlier this summer to move to our new house. Competitive prices and absolute pros. All of the guys were kind, empathetic, and worked extremely hard for the entire time. I cannot recommend this company enough. read more

Floyd and his crew did a fantastic job moving my elderly dad out of our family home of 45 years into an apartment. The team worked hard, smart and extremely well together. The guys joked with my super stressed out dad, got to know our family and genuinely seemed to like both their job and people in general. That's a big deal and NOT easy to find in a moving company. I've moved many times and never have I met such a capable, caring and personable team. And the rate was very reasonable for the sheer amount of stuff we had and the hours they put in. I'm quite certain that had my dad let them (if he weren't so OCD haha), they would have helped him pack up more of his stuff! Thank you Floyd and company for making a dreaded day nearly a pleasure! read more

Moving The Right Way - Movers Near Me

My wife and I have used Moving The Right Way multiple times over the last 5 years and every time they have made our move painless and stress free! I cannot recommend this company enough. Lloyd Jay Malcolm and Maurice are an incredible team! read more

As the company name indicates, if you want to do it right, go with "moving the right way." My husband and I moved from the city to the Hudson Valley last month but our home was still be renovated on; we decided to stay with family out of state for 30 days to give our construction team some more time to complete the project. I'm 8 months pregnant and my husband and I just got back into town, realizing that all of our stuff and furniture was still stacked and sitting in one small part of the home in boxes. Two days ago, I was so overwhelmed but I called this company just to see if they could provide quick moving services. We needed help moving our furniture from room to room, up and downstairs to get our home in a more livable state. Not only was Scott (sales person) super responsive and kind, he was able to book us a slot for today (just 24 hours later!) and the cherry on top was the team he sent!!! Quan, Maurice and Ernest were the most amazing crew I've ever met. That's not an over exaggeration either. They were right on time despite the rainy cold weather, they were so sweet and better yet, the service they provided was above and beyond exceptional. They were so efficient, communicative and careful. They followed our directions to a tee! Seriously, I could not have asked for a better experience. They treated our furniture and stuff with the upmost respect and were beyond helpful. My husband and I tipped them well because we wanted them to know that we appreciated their professionalism and overall lovely attitudes. If you are going to spend your money, do it the right way. Feel good about your investment and the people you partner with. Great company, great crew, very fair prices and a wonderful experience. If unpacking our smaller boxes proves to be too much for us to handle, I will not hesitate to reach back out to them for their help in the very near future. So happy I called! If you need any help, do not hesitate, you will not be sorry for choosing them. read more

After nearly four months of planning with the "RELOCATION SPECIALIST" from MOVING THE RIGHT WAY....my MOVE WITH THIS COMPANY WAS A TOTAL DISASTER. BEWARE OF THIS COMPANY !! Liars and thieves! REMEMBER YOU MUST GET A DETAILED ESTIMATE IN WRITING PRIOR TO THE ACTUAL MOVE DATE!! OTHERWISE AT THE END OF YOUR MOVE YOU WILL HAVE AN EXUBERANT AMOUNT STILL DUE! For starters, the three movers assigned to my job were very unprofessional, they arrived nearly two hours late, then once on my property .....the lazy older man spent all his time in the truck SMOKING. The other two men spent nearly an hour taking apart a bed that shouldn't have been touched or MOVED!! Upon their late arrival, I personally walked the men thru the home and gave VERY specific instructions on which items were being moved. ALSO The day before the move I spoke to the relocation specialist to discuss the shrink wrapping of all my larger pieces of furniture. ONLY TWO PIECES WERE WRAPPED and it was done in a sloppy slipshod manner. The corners of my sectional were exposed and there was a large hole in the plastic when placed in the storage unit. No CARE OR RESPECT given to your personal possessions. After sitting in my car in front of my home for nearly an hour AND NOT SEEING ANY of the MOVERS BRINGING OUT MY BELONGINGS I DECIDED TO GO INSIDE TO CHECK ON THEM. Well, one was on the phone, one was STILL in the truck smoking and the last one was still trying to figure out how to remove simple screws from a piece of furniture NOT INCLUDED in THE MOVE??? I hired this moving company with the expectation of professional movers, what I got were 3 men from the hood. No sense of decorum or respect!! Why are you smoking in the truck around my belongings??? STAY AWAY FROM THIS COMPANY!! GET A FINAL $$ DUE....prior to the ACTUAL move AND DO NOT FALL FOR THE OLD "IT WAS JUST AN ESTIMATE" B.S. NOTE: THE MOVERS WERE SLOW ON PURPOSE AND AFTER TWO HOURS WHEN I COMPLAINED THEY LIED AND TOLD THE SUPERVISOR THAT I HAD A MASSIVE AMOUNT OF EXTRA BELONGINGS. THIS IS NOT TRUE. IMPORTANT ALERT: The SCAM with this moving company is to have the movers work as slow as possible and then once they are close to the finishing time you are told that you have gone over and will be billed at a rate of an additional $150 per hour. Meanwhile, they offer HORRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE!! And LAZY AND DISRESPECTFUL EMPLOYEES WHO LOOK LIKE THEY MAY COME BACK AND ROB YOU AT A LATER DATE! BE CAREFUL CHECK BBB AND VERIFY YOUR FINAL BILL IN ADVANCE OR BETTER YET JUST FIND A REPUTABLE MOVING COMPANY BECAUSE THIS COMPANY IS NOT TRUSTWORTHY. Im sure they will respond and say that the above isn't true but the cold hard facts don't lie and neither does the video of the mover in the truck SMOKING. Shameful and disgusting no sense of etiquette or decorum. As I said before the company charges a exuberant amount and then they hire so low life's to execute your move. STAY AWAY FROM MOVING THE RIGHT WAY! There was NOTHING RIGHT ABOUT MY BUMBLED MOVE. CAVEAT EMPTOR!! Please do your due diligence on this company the most recent reviews are fake so KEEP SCROLLING DOWN TO REACH THE OTHER ONE STAR REVIEWS!! We ALL can't be lying about the movers being slow on purpose to run up the hours and your BILL Shameful!! read more

I've worked with Floyd and his men three times with BIG furniture. These guys are terrific. They work constantly, they're honest, cheerful, generous, and totally reliable. It's very difficult to trust strangers to roam around your house and pick up your prized furniture and carry it off--but Floyd is working with his guys the whole time and NOTHING is taken for granted. They even ask if it's ok to use your bathroom 6 hours into the move. Great, honest, pleasant, competent, careful and gracious. I can't recommend this company highly enough! read more

We bought our son a loft bed that needed to be assembled. Floyd contacted me right back. He offered to come the same day on a late Saturday afternoon(which was today!) Very professional! A+ guy and his worker was great too. Even hung out with my kids little kids while assembling this massive bed! In the year 2020 that means a lot! Some companies won't even acknowledge your kids! That isn't the "Moving The Right Way!" I would hire Floyd in a second if ever needing assembly and this loft bed wasn't a 1 hour job! Came in 3 pretty large boxes. I will attach a pic to the review. If you need a mover or furniture assembled this is the company you should hire! 5 stars the whole way!? read more

We used Moving The Right Way a few months ago. They were very reasonable. They did a great job and were quick, helpful, efficient. No problems. Nice/fun group of guys. Highly recommend! read more

These guys were the best! Super professional - wrapped everything and packed carefully. Moving from a home of nearly 40 years to an apartment so there was a lot of stress separating what was to go. They completed the whole job in exactly three hours as they had estimated. I also liked that Floyd visited beforehand to personally see what was to be moved. They arrived exactly on time and put me at ease going above and beyond to make sure I was packing everything I wanted. I will be forever grateful for the excellent job they did: not just moving stuff but their kindness and patience was unlimited. AND - their price was great. read more

My move was a difficult task - many, many stairs and a very steep driveway. Floyd assessed the job well, Scott was extremely hands-on in organizing the job, and Jay and his team were fabulous throughout the day. They made sure to communicate with me about what I wanted and they were all personable and helpful. I highly recommend this company and plan to call them again for any future moves. read more

Great local business for me. The owner Floyd is very responsive, and on time. He uses Covid protocol and very knowledgeable . He make moving less stressful. read more

Honestly, I cannot say enough about Flyod and his incredible team. They were early, professional, and knocked an interstate move, while dealing with Labor Day weekend traffic, out of the park! I will definitely be using them for any and all future moves! Thank you, thank you, thank you for making this as flawless as possible and dealing with me and my crazy family! read more

Highly disappointing experience! I found them very unprofessional on multiple fronts. Firstly, Floyd came to our apartment to survey the furniture and said they'll easily move our furniture in 3 hours. He even agreed on doing a flat rate for the entire move. But the quotation he sent later mentioned a hourly rate. Secondly, the three people who came to do the actual move were very slow. They used manual screw drivers to dismantle my bed and dresser which took a lot of time. The took 5 hours to complete the move. On top of that, they scratched multiple peices of my furniture. There were 2 dents on the headboard and another scratch on the foot board of the bed. They also scratched one of the night stands and the TV table. I was very sad and disappointed as my furniture was new and expensive. They tried to compensate by giving an hour and a half off my total bill of 5 hours (which was anyway 1.5 times the estimate they gave) and also brought a pencil to cover the scratches they made but that didn't really boost my spirit. Cons: 1) Inaccurate cost estimate 2) Unprofessional - scratched multiple peices of my furniture 3) Very slow read more

Very responsive, I contacted them on Saturday afternoon and the movers came on Monday. Wrapped, disassembled, unwrapped and disassembled all the furniture and moved it with no hassle or damage. (Moving a one bedroom apartment so no huge items besides a sofa and bed) Rates were very reasonable as well and got everything done within 3 hours. read more

Floyd and his team did an excellent job, moving a very large number of books and other boxes from storage into my place, and helping me consolidate my storage units. They are very careful and thoughtful - they arrange things so that you can access them, and they check in with you as the move progresses so they can put things in place where you want them. They provide a smart and cheerful approach; how often can you write that about moving, which is among the most stressful tasks. Highly highly recommended. read more

If you can avoid these guys you will be doing yourself a huge favor. Not only are they slower than molasses(burning the clock) but when they break the feet off of a chair because they're very rough with items, even right in front of me, they lie and say I did it myself. When confronted the guy starts talking negatively about my mom and becomes extremely confrontational ... lol... professionalism at its best. Called the manager and he failed to do anything saying I lied about the furniture. Insurance is .60 cents a pound and your employee insulted the customer... wow. They smoke on the job, and literally stand around talking to each other and on the phone between loads. The same guy who dishes out insults leaves the job, is gone 30 minutes and acts as if that's how their moving jobs go..It's as if I'm paying them to grace me with their presence. Needless to say, they lack a good work ethic, have extremely poor customer service skills and frankly, are trained incorrectly if their actions, or lack thereof, are condoned by the management. I hire companies all across the country and these guys top the list of worst moving companies. read more

Floyd & his team were wonderful Excellent crew, very efficient & careful with our belongings Totally recommend because it's so challenging to find reliable & careful movers Thanks guys! Great job! read more

Floyd and Earl did an awesome job and really made an emotional move relatively easy. They wrapped everything and handled all of my belongings with care and ease. No damage to anything. The move did take longer than initially anticipated however the price per hour I was quoted was true and I do not feel like it was a bad deal at all because I was truly in good hands. I would absolutely use them again although I'm not planning on moving any time soon! read more

My daughter found Floyd and his team on Yelp when we needed to move her from Westchester to BK. He gave her a great price and was able to move her the very next day! Thanks guys! read more

Floyd came through for me not once but twice. His staff was very friendly and professional. I would highly recommend them.

Just finished a move with Floyd and his team. Great moving experience, starting with the interaction with Scott who provided a very accurate quote for us and made pre-move arrangements, to the actual day of the move. They are very fairly priced - I'd say, if you are moving within Westchester, don't even think twice about using these guys, as they are Westchester based, and you're unlikely to get a better quote and knowledge of the area. Floyd has a great sense of humor, and his teammates were extremely mindful and courteous, so it was just really pleasant having them handle the move. Highly recommend! read more

My wife and I just relocated from Tarrytown, NY to Delray Beach, FL. Our realtor in Tarrytown recommended Moving the Right Way. Floyd Price, the proprietor, was both personable and professional throughout the relocation process. He and his crews in Tarrytown and Florida worked quickly, but were also extremely careful with our belongings. Everything made it to Florida with no damage to report. Floyd paid us a visit to assess the size and complexity of the move, delivered an estimate, and ultimately charged us exactly the amount quoted in the estimate. There were no unpleasant surprises. We highly recommend Moving the Right Way. read more

Friendly and efficient team. They treated the crummy furniture great and the nice furniture even better! Floyd was really nice and turned around all questions and requests quickly (we moved to a condo with a lot of rules and paperwork requirements). When the crew showed up, they came up with their attack plan quickly and made it happen, led by Jay. When we got to the home, they put the heavy stuff where it needed to be, and treated the hardwood floors and new carpet gingerly. As with all moves, especially hourly billed kinds- the more organizing, labeling and packing you do before move day, the less time it will take. But if your willing to go over estimate and need odd items packaged or specially boxed, they'll take the time to secure the items safely. Very good experience. read more

Orlando, Earl and Terrell went above and beyond! They exceeded our expectations moving us to our new house! We moved from an apartment building and these guys had to deal with construction, elevators and a long treck to the truck, but they handled it with ease! They were kind, courteous and professional. They took care of our belongings as if it was theirs. We had a huge piece of couch that was very difficult to get into the house, but they got it in! I'd recommend these guys for any move! read more

Life savers!!! We were in a jam and needed help with a move right away. Unlike so many other movers, Floyd picked up the call and worked with us during the super busy spring moving season to squeeze us into his schedule. Super professional and great guys. Did a great job and did not take advantage of us with pricing, even though he knew we needed help quickly. Couldn't be more thankful that Floyd picked up our call!!! Forgot to add: 7 stars out of 5!!! Don't waste time looking elsewhere. They'll get it done. read more

Floyd came by a week in advance in order to provide a quote that was as accurate as possible. Before deciding to go with Moving The Right Way, I called around to get other quotes. Floyd's quote was 25% less than the competitors. On move day, the crew quickly disassembled the few items that required it, and carefully wrapped the beds and the fragile Ikea bookshelves. Everything was packed into the truck as compactly as possible. The move included dozens of boxes full of books and the usual furniture. I heard no complaints and saw no scratches. We were charged the exact hourly rate stated previously by Floyd. The total cost was under his original quote since the crew completed the move 30min ahead of schedule. read more

This is the review for the 2nd set of crew who came back to the house to bring the stuff in from the pod after our renovation. Out of 3 people, only one really knows what he was doing. One of the staff is a young thin teenager who can hardly carry anything. The other one was super slow and seems high. They scratched our new stained hardwood floors because they did not send the right crew to handle the moving of the furnitures . I was very disappointed this time. read more

This review is mostly for a move I made early last year, but also for the planning of an upcoming move that I again contacted this company for. Last year Floyd and another amazing employee helped me with a short move but not an easy one (emotionally). They truly made it the most comfortable and easy experience for me. Floyd gave me an unbeatable flat rate for the day and stuck to that price. Not only did they show up at the exact time they promised, they were extremely fast, efficient, comforting, and so easy to work with. They took amazing care of my belongings and I am so grateful for them for that. It's hard to come by moving companies with such great prices AND unbelievable workers. For my upcoming move which is much farther than the last, the personable and friendly Floyd contacted me directly with another absolutely UNBEATABLE price. The planning was so easy and thorough and I am so grateful that I found this company! read more

I highly recommend Floyd's professional, responsible work. I had a small job, removing and hauling away several very heavy boxes from my garage, and Floyd answered an inquiry I posted on a local board within minutes, and then did the job the same night.
