The office staff were top notch, especially Chris and Jenna. The team picked up our boxes on a Saturday and all was dropped off here by Friday without any issues. Fantastic experience moving from Westchester NY to West Palm Beach FL, will definitely use Slattery again. The Westchester crew of Juan, Javier, Victor and Javi was incredible -- took great care of our furniture and artwork, wrapping everything really carefully and thoroughly. In Florida, Rob, Regan and Milton unpacked everything with equal care and reassembled four tricky pieces of furniture efficiently and cheerfully. Easiest move I've ever had and also one of the least expensive, $1500 less than I was quoted by the closest competitor, though I was moving a lot of framed artwork and custom-made furniture. We used Slattery to move from Rockland County, NY down to the Tampa, FL area back in July of 2021. Not only were promises broken in terms of pricing and delivery dates, several items of ours were damaged when they finally arrived. However, the worst was yet to come as we've slowly unpacked over the last few months and found more damages (including mold as the result of standing water at their own facility) to our items that were an obvious result of their negligence during the moving of our furniture and household items. Buyer beware!!! Also, the furniture items they had to reassemble as a result of the move were poorly put together by their staff and I wished I had paid more attention as they were doing so. They should've been micromanaged. Do not use these guys. They also subcon movers that don't work directly for the company, they don't care about promises made, and you'll eventually find your items in rough shape when/if they arrive to their destination. read more

Great job! would definitely use again. We were moving the contents of a 3BR house from Westchester County NY to Passaic County, NJ. They showed up early, packed the truck quickly & efficiently, got to the new location much sooner than we expected and had us unloaded and moved in by 4pm the same day. Flat rate is definitely the way to go on pricing, no worries about traffic delays or other things out of your control. Pro tip - tip the crew 50% of what you intend to give them first thing in the morning and let them know that if the day goes well there will be more at the end of the day! read more

I hired Slattery for a move to the Bronx from Nyack. I loved that they gave a flat rate price and the sales and office people were super-responsive with questions I had as the move-day approached - I'd never hired a moving company before, so there were all sorts of things I didn't know. When moving day came, the guys showed up on-time, were informed, and when an issue came up, the operations manager was right on it and we came up with a solution that made everyone happy. The furniture and boxes was packed and handled very carefully and the crew had a real attention to the details of each item. My Nyack apartment had some tight corners and I remember how hard it was to navigate on the move in - but I didn't hear a peep about it on my move out! These guys are ninjas. The movers were experienced, respectful, sweet and communicative. They knew their job and were also super-efficient. I was so happy with the result - it made my moving day go from potentially super-stressful to relatively stress-free! Some folks on here say they're a little spendy, but I didn't feel that way. We hired Slattery back in January for our local move. They showed up as agreed at a time we agreed on. However, they did not want to move a swing set an a gazebo that we agreed on. Only when I stressed that it was written in the contract did they take it. Most of my furniture they were able to set up without a problem but many of my children's toys arrived broken. The swing set they transported was not even assembled properly, which we did not discover until my kids started playing on it (screws were loose). My children's outdoor furniture was broken and we ended up throwing it out. Also, most of my boxes that were labeled "fragile" and contained picture frames arrived broken despite being bubble wrapped and labeled. If I were to do it again, I would use a different company. read more

Slattery did my recent 2 story house move and exceeded my expectations. I received multiple estimates from various moving companies and slattery was competitive from the beginning. Kate and Chris from the office also exceeded my expectations. Chris did a pre move assessment a few days before he move and the estimate came in less than previously suggested. I hired Slattery for a local move into a house only a few blocks away. On the day of move, Slattery crew showed up hours behind schedule and in a truck with non working cabin lighting. By the time they arrived at the new house it was getting dark. As the lights inside the cabin didn't work, they were unloading the truck using hand held flashlight. It took a long time and things started to get dropped. By the time it's all done, they ran over the estimate by a few hours and left me with damaged items which they told me to expect a call from the office with a resolution. That call never came, so we called. Our calls were either not returned or we were told a resolution was coming but then never heard from them again. Eventually discussed we filed a complaint with better business bureau. Then they started to call, promising to propose a resolution but refused to put it in writing. Over all we felt we were dealing with a business which is less than honest. read more

Although they did not arrive until the end of the provided window, the contact I had at this company called me promptly in the beginning of the window to inform me of the delays they were experiencing. The guys who showed up were awesome. Very professional, courteous, well presented and had a good sense of humor. They took their time wrapping my furniture and ensured it was safe in their truck for the trip. Compared cost with other moving companies in the area, the cost given here was more than fair, other companies attempted to haggle with me which I found quite unprofessional. I received a postcard in the mail shortly after my 1 bedroom apt was up for sale. I was in need of a mover and storage facility, so the timing was perfect (the result of a good marketing person!). Everyone was helpful from the 1st call. The 1st move out of the apt. went great. The guys were courteous, professional, and anything that required wrapping was handled extremely well and with care. Customer service was always helpful when I called or emailed (even when a billing concern had to be addressed). After 4 months of storage, they moved my stuff from their facility to my new space in upper NYC, where I received the same professionalism. The guys arrived an hour early--unheard of by many standards. While they weren't able to get into the elevator until 9 a.m., they waited and then had my entire move complete in 2.5 hours. I wouldn't use this moving company again. They do not put the customer first. They put their own ways of making money first which I understand, it's a business, but at a great inconvenience to the customer, which is not the way to do business. I was given a quote for price and the date of delivery to another state, and I said okay and signed the contract. From the time my stuff was picked up until the time I received my stuff would be approximately 10 days, I was not thrilled-but okay with that. It's is what it is. TWO days before my giant move to another state they called me and told me my stuff would be picked up and it would not be delivered until 17 days later!!!!! WHAT?! AN EXTRA WEEK WITHOUT MY STUFF? When you have none of your things, no bed, none of your belongings and you're staying with friends/hotel THIS is a giant inconvenience. They treated it as no big deal and were rude and nasty when I questioned this. What they ended up doing was squeezing in another move just right before mine (these folks "decided to bring more stuff" -what? As A moving company don't you know how much stuff people are bringing? Isn't that part of the contract and the deal?). I signed a lease and paid extra to have the house ready. Which was a complete waste since it took almost 3 weeks to get my stuff. 3 weeks!!!!! They pushed my delivery date back because we had to "fill a new truck". This was due to Slattery's piss poor planning, and the fact that they want to make as much money as physically possible at the customers expense. What could I have done ? My stuff was ready and boxed up and I was moving and I had tenants coming into my unit in five days. I had to leave. The moving company obviously knows this. They know you're stuck. Finally on the way down to bring my stuff the truck broke down So ADD TWO more days until my stuff comes. (As a business shouldn't you be ensuring that your trucks are in great shape and don't have the risk to break down? ) So all in all 20 days later I received my stuff. (Mind you the drive from where I moved to only takes by car 9.5 hours-you can do it in a day! ). I also want to point out the movers who moved my stuff were great, but they kept flicking cigarette butts into my condo front lawn. Give your movers an ashtray! I didn't receive any monies back from said move (it cost over $3500 for move) nor did I receive an apology or anything of the sort. I would not use them for long moves. Perhaps in and around New York State yes but not for moves up and down the East Coast. The long move process seems to be very poorly planned (see other reviews) and can change at a moments notice if there's a way to make more money. Do not use for long moves. read more

This last move required a great deal of over the phone planning with Slatterys. Thanks to the professionalism of each of their staff members, the move was seamless and as easy as could be. The Best Moving Experience EVER! And we have moved a lot. We had a long distance move from NY to Florida, and I had to move the contents of a a large house. Not only was the estimate based on volume, not weight, which was less than the other estimates I had, but the day of the move, the crew could not have been more helpful. They packed a number of glass items very carefully and professionally, and even arrived on time! Only one item --a glass-framed poster--had a crack and it was paid for in full. I would heartily recommend them for long distance or local moves. Very professional. We never had to hire a moving company before, so we were a little terrified of how it could've gone. You know you hear so many horror stories, right? I used Slattery moving company first from my home to their storage facility then to final destination in Sarasota,Florida. The first local move they were exemplary. I could not have said enough good things about the care in which they handled and packed my furniture, the friendly, courteous and accommodating staff and the highly efficient and expert handling....in that move they were a full five star. The long distance move was as opposite and unsatisfactory as could be. To begin they moved me three days ahead...I wasn't in Florida yet. The driver who was the foreman was indifferent and cavalier regarding the handling of my possessions. The workers they hired (on the spot )were hard working and fast but uncaring,taking direction from the foreman. They climbed on boxes marked fragile. A glass shelf was broken, several pieces furniture scratched. None of the boxed, heavy mirrors or painting were unpacked which were packed in NY by Slattery. The insurance I took out had a $1,000 deductible. The insurance company said the damage wasn't worth submitting a claim. Slattery's compensation was to refund me the cost of the insurance premium. My suggestion to anyone wanting to use Slattery is to keep it local where their expertise is....they are not equipped for long distance moves from my experience. read more
