This may be the most poorly run business in DFW. The 1 year old facility sparkles from the outside - but don't be fooled, it's a poorly maintained and mis-managed nightmare. The drive-thru doors are regularly out of service for weeks at a time with no urgency to get them operational, hindering users. I don't visit my unit often, but I can't tell you the last time I did when there wasn't something broken down that inconvenienced me in what should have been a very quick and easy trip. On my last visit, both rollup doors were out of service and the manager had no real concern about it. Just kind of shrugged it off and said it takes a long time to get someone out to fix it. There is mold present and visible in common areas of the facility, a result of "the" water leak over a year ago I imagine. On three separate occasions now we have been startled by homeless people sleeping inside the secluded hallway near our storage unit, waking them up and setting them off to cuss us out for disturbing them. If there was someone sleeping right next to our unit, how many other people are in there hiding in the other areas of that large building? I don't blame them for trying to find a quiet and warm place to sleep, but if its that easy for them to get inside the "secure" areas of the facility, how safe are we when we go to retrieve things? How safe is our stuff? Clearly, not very. In our first year we have had our rate raised twice, every 6 months and we're now paying $10 more than what the unit cost initially, and what a new customer would walk in and get the same unit for. So the unit value isn't going up...just our bill. Their rates were already higher than nearby competitors when I got this unit, which I was ok with given it was closer to home and had a seemingly nicer, more accessible facility. But I was fooled by the sparkle of this new building, don't make the same mistake I did. TL;DR: This place is inconvenient to use due to poor maintenance and no urgency to fix accessibility issues. Its insecure, there are homeless sleeping inside regularly. There is mold, present for about a year now that poses a threat to our stuff. They regularly hike your rates approximately every 6 months despite all of their issues. UPDATE: I did try to resolve these issues with Extra Space's Customer Service, and was promised a call-back to address them within 1 or 2 days, but never received a call. Their customer service is lacking both at the facility location level and corporate. read more

Renters beware: ExtraSpace Storage on Windsor Like a new restaurant with terrible food, this ExtraSpace Storage on Windsor May leave you with a bad taste in your mouth. Yesterday, I was notified there "may be" some water in my unit. Indeed, there was. A water leak inside the facility caused water damage to contents in multiple units. Personally, I lost a couch and 3 shelving units. Even though the leak was caused by the storage facility's plumbing, they claim to hold no responsibility... unless I had paid for the extra insurance, which I did not. Management was quick to remind me of this, and insistent that they were in no way liable. I will be removing all of my remaining items from this place, and I recommend caution when considering this facility. It may leave you feeling a bit... soggy. read more

We had all of our very expensive bikes stolen from inside the facility. It is not secure and unless you purchased their insurance they don't do anything to help you. They simply cut our lock and stole our stuff...from inside the "secure facility". We would have been better leaving them laying in our yard. read more

I ended up renting 2 spaces here in between deciding to put my house on the market and moving out of state. The employees here have been wonderful to work with, the spaces were clean and there were always carts available. They've improved the security on the building in the past few months as well. I liked that everything was inside -- I felt secure going over to grab something or drop off boxes after 8pm. Overall, I recommend. read more

Terrible. Awful. I would choose 0 stars if I could. We started out having a fine experience here, it was a bit pricey but okay. Then, a few months after we moved our things in the units flooded. We had the disgusting smell of mildew and had to throw many things out. As if that wasn't bad enough on June 10, 2019 just a few months later we get a call that our unit was BURGLARIZED. That's right. People broke in and spent 2 hours in the storage building stealing and vandalizing. Not only did they steal some of our priceless belongings, they TRASHED the place. My husband and I had to spend hours reorganizing everything. Every box was ripped to shreds, photos ruined, you name it. We had insurance on the unit but of course got minimal help there. Not to mention, we showed up the next day after the burglary to do more cleaning and the door to the building was wide open- just waiting for someone else to get in. I called the front office asking for any kind of break on our bill to make up for the hours we had to spend every weekend trying to clean out our unit and they said no because it wasn't their fault. Really? Not their fault that the storage facility wasn't properly monitored?? These criminals spent 2 hours stealing from multiple units and we didn't even find out until noon the next day! I'm not normally one to go and write poor reviews but man I wish someone had warned me before I wasted money renting here. It would have saved me hours of angst from the issues we've had. DON'T DO IT! Trust me, if anything happens to your belongings the most you'll get is "not our fault". Oh and not to mention, I posted this on Google and the corporate responded asking me to call 888-STORAGE which is their reservation line! I called hoping finally for some help and they guy had no idea why they would have directed me there. They try to make you think they want to help, but they don't. read more

This place is horrible! We moved our stuff in March 21st by March 27th someone who was living in a storage unit (1005) broke into our unit. The insurance has still not paid our claim. The doors have been broken various times and stayed completely open giving anyone and everyone access to all units and they had a water leak problem less than 2 weeks of us being there. We had the person who broke into our unit caught and arrested on March 30th and proved he was living in the unit. There is no type of real security in place, management is a joke, and insurance on units is pointless when they refuse to pay claims. Facility should be closed down!!! read more
