Omar filled in the details of the job to get us the right crew, and got us scheduled for the very next morning. Lorenzo and his team showed up early, communicated clearly, and holy wow did they work fast. In less than 90 minutes they moved what took our team 6 hours to do. AND they moved a fireproof safe by hand, with sheet strength and a good knowledge of physics. The cherry on top is the value - super-fair, plus a discount for booking through Yelp. For the $1700 I paid I didn't even get my entire house moved and am having to move the rest of my house myself and be aware if your outside a certain area they tack on a hefty fee. Also some of the furniture they moved was turned upside down or on its end and internals were a mess. We also had a cheap shoe rack that got bent up and had to be thrown away and we still can't find some of our cords and remotes, so we ended up purchasing replacements for those things. The guys were courteous and respectful overall, and thoroughly wrapped and blanketed needed items but man the value just wasn't there for me I'll definitely move myself next time.

Four young men and two 26' trucks showed up right on time and worked nonstop at an extremely rapid pace to load up extremely heavy furniture and oversized belongings in 3-4 hours (including elevator time) . When they got to the new home, it was about half the time to unload, hook up appliances, and rearrange furniture I requested a couple of times. I chose Firehouse Movers because of their glowing Google reviews, and their initial estimate was very competitive. Unfortunately, the final bill was a complete shock. To begin with, they insisted on a virtual estimate and refused to come out in person and assess the job. This was a 5000 sq ft home full of furniture, and I wanted the most accurate estimate possible. I asked multiple times for an in-person estimate, but my requests were declined. By moving day, I had sold two-bedroom sets and several other large pieces of furniture that were included in the original estimate. Even with significantly fewer items to move, the final price was more than double the original estimate. On the day of the move, I somehow went from needing two trucks, as stated in the estimate, to four. And from 9 to 17 total man hours. At the end of a long day, my husband just wanted them gone, so he reluctantly paid the bill before they could log anymore hours. When I called to discuss the bill, Firehouse claimed I had verbally approved the additional associated costs over the phone, citing a recording, which was completely false. I have asked multiple times for this recording, but I have not received it. That was not a small miscalculation. Our move was grossly underestimated. This whole experience felt misleading and dishonest. Stay away.

The second time was just like the first. - Arrived at agreed time and texted update enroute - All employees clean cut, professional and respectful of our home and our contents - Efficient in use of time and packing space in trucks and in storage Same goes for the office. They recognized me (caller ID?) as a past user of their service and warmly greeted me. Then I walked them through what they would be moving, when, where from and to and they gave me an estimate for 2 trucks and 5 people. Very thorough and professional. The job went perfectly and due to our packing and prep as well as their expediency, and efficiency, the move was complete in much less time than the estimate. And we paid based on the actual hours worked, not the max estimate. We will use FFMS to move us out of storage and into our new home this fall.
