I rented a 10x20 unit at $120 about 2 years ago, the following year my rate was raised to $190 (58% increase), then this year I received another increase to $280 (another 57%). When I visited the office and asked why the increase, I was told it was "just supply and demand, since we're nearly at capacity and can charge more than you're paying, we raise your rate". So the facilities were unchanged and unimproved, but I received 133% in increases in 2 years. I can't stand unscrupulous practices and moved out. Now I see on their website that they have the same 10x20 space available for $151. So it was clearly a matter of trying to take advantage of an already paying customer. If you need a nice space for a short period, it's fine. But If you think you might need it more long term, look elsewhere or be prepared for unwarranted rate increases.

I think a lot of these self storage places prey on the fact that nobody wants to move all their stuff to keep a reasonable rate so you move in and wham, they hit you with a huge rate increase. They act like they're doing you a great service by going month-month rather than signing a longer term lease (where pricing would be fixed). "You can cancel whenever you want". Yeah, if you don't mind moving every few months. It just allows them to quickly jack your rate way up. At Extra Space they also go month-month so I was worried about the same trickery. BUT, they allowed me to lock in the current rate for as long as I wanted to, by paying in advance. I was thrilled to have this option and took full advantage of it. Even better, I was given the significantly cheaper "web rate" for the full duration of my pre-pay. The result was that my space at Extra Storage is less than 1/2 of what Public Storage was going to charge me. So, do your homework and make sure you know how much it's going to cost you if you plan to use the space for any significant time. Don't just compare the initial "teaser" rates. Also, the place is super clean and the staff were a joy to work with. So happy I found this place!

Barbara, the store manager, was calling to welcome me, make sure if I had any questions and to walk me through accessing my unit! I really love the quiet location of the facility and that the public access is limited (they are not open overnight)! I feel safe accessing and the monthly price works for my needs! My husband showed up with 2 truckloads of our things at 10:20 and no one was there and it was obvious they were still closed from the night before. Customer service via the call center is a joke. We both were calling and despite talking to 4-5 people no one could help us and no one called us back as requested. My husband was able to use the kiosk to get a key and pay despite it restarting several times only to find out the gate code it provided didn't work. Finally after 11 someone showed up and let my husband in and he was able to unload the trucks into our unit. The following Monday we followed up to voice our frustration and let them know we weren't sure we were going to stay a few months as we intended. Long story short rather than an apology we were kicked out and told our stuff needed to be out the next day. We had to load up our things and find another storage location. Global Self Storage has terrible customer service and at the end of the day they might just kick you out if they don't like what you have to say. Not worth it!

I wish another employer would discover him because Bill gives PS a better name than they deserve. Bill swiftly took several actions to relieve our issues. I did not go in there screaming, I was calm (but probably obviously frustrated.) Bill got us taken care of clearly because he wanted to do good work and help others. I still think the PS corporate / franchise model is terrible for customers per my statements above.

Moved out of Public Storage/Fishers on 118th Street after 2 years. We had mold over the summer,…read morealong with another tenant whom we met at the end of our ground floor row after 2 months only. Mold on wood furniture, in suitcases, and other item. Insurance would not cover-was not an "event" that caused the mold. Climate control, does Not compensate for humidity. I was told by the manager that "we store at our own risk-like being hit by an uninsured motorist." We had a reputable Mold Remediation Company do an onsite assessment on 8/12/25. He was shocked at how hot it was and his meter showed double the humidity levels to keep out mold. We were told that there was no system failure, yet mold was found in at least 2 units. Lots of damage! I could have saved the $400 a month and stored our furniture and Christmas decor in my garage! I called the Hamilton County Health Department, who have received complaints in the past. I was told it would be checked out, but no follow up as of yet. Mold can be very dangerous and my hands would itch after being in the unit cleaning it out. Our items are currently being cleaned by a mold remediation company at our own cost. Public Storage is a scam. Rent goes way up, but quality and safety go down. Not a safe environment.
