I called you on October 9, 2023, at 10:53 AM and left a message to tell you that I was pulling my boat out on November 6, 2023, to put it in winter storage. You called me back at 12:03 PM the same day and told me that I would have to pay for the entire month of November. I had no problem with that. You said that you normally get a 30-day written notice of departing your facility but since we were talking, you would accept the verbal notice (this should have been in your notes). My wife accidentally paid you twice and you admit it.  On November 6th I pulled my boat off your property and moved it to winter storage.  When I got home my wife told me about the double payment. I called you at 1:27 PM on November 6th to inform you about the double payment. You told me you posted the double payment for November and December, and I was covered for December storage fee even though I was not storing anything on your property, and you were not giving me my money back. I posted my review on YELP on November 6th to warn others of your corrupt business practice. You called me at 2:09 PM after reading the review on YELP on the 6th and left me a voice mail which included the following: "Hey Bruce, Todd Payne here, I went back and looked at all my records, NOTES, and everything and I don't see anything that you've notified me that you were leaving for 30 days but what I can do is take that EXTRA PAYMENT THAT YOUR WIFE MADE that I posted for December and KEEP IT and hold your spot for you. You'll start back up in the summer and make payments. Just give me a call back".  These are your words, Todd. You are admitting to keeping the extra payment and not returning my money even though you were notified in October. Why don't you have any records and I do. I am warning everyone to stay away, or you will have to shut your MONTH!

Not only that they were able to get me in under the Spring discount which saved me even more money. They didn't have to do that but they did. Honesty, integrity and incredible customer service. They have even fielded phone calls from home when I needed them. Facility is SECURE, well lit and have music playing so you don't feel like your in alone in a haunted movie. Units are CLEAN and in great shape. Easy ACCESS with keypads at all entrances, elevator and entry doors. Excellent experience. Highly recommend.

We moved out bc they quit accepting deliveries, don't plow or salt in winter and can't get in/out out of unit, no one works on Wednesdays, can't throw 1 bag of trash in dumpster ( that's always locked) , wouldn't give delivery drivers our key to drop deliveries (which is why we stayed for so long) and chris lied to me multiple times that he tried calling me to tell me I had deliveries. All the other managers have been so helpful and nice, but he is not. We just moved out and he was verbally yelling at me bc he locked our unit while we were moving out. He almost ran over my husband in his golf cart and then he backed into the wall. He then blamed me for that, but I wasn't even driving it or near him. $900 every month, 15years and paid on time ....disappointing they have this manager running this business. I wish another employer would discover him because Bill gives PS a better name than they deserve. Bill swiftly took several actions to relieve our issues. I did not go in there screaming, I was calm (but probably obviously frustrated.) Bill got us taken care of clearly because he wanted to do good work and help others. I still think the PS corporate / franchise model is terrible for customers per my statements above.

Wow, great experience at Extra Space Storage - how refreshing!…read more And a huge contrast to the horrible experience I had just had at Public Storage where they increased my rent by 40% after just 6 months - what a scam! I think a lot of these self storage places prey on the fact that nobody wants to move all their stuff to keep a reasonable rate so you move in and wham, they hit you with a huge rate increase. They act like they're doing you a great service by going month-month rather than signing a longer term lease (where pricing would be fixed). "You can cancel whenever you want". Yeah, if you don't mind moving every few months. It just allows them to quickly jack your rate way up. At Extra Space they also go month-month so I was worried about the same trickery. BUT, they allowed me to lock in the current rate for as long as I wanted to, by paying in advance. I was thrilled to have this option and took full advantage of it. Even better, I was given the significantly cheaper "web rate" for the full duration of my pre-pay. The result was that my space at Extra Storage is less than 1/2 of what Public Storage was going to charge me. So, do your homework and make sure you know how much it's going to cost you if you plan to use the space for any significant time. Don't just compare the initial "teaser" rates. Also, the place is super clean and the staff were a joy to work with. So happy I found this place!

They wrapped a lot of items in plastic. We moved from a 2nd level 2-bed 1-bath apt. to a 1-story home. I would have appreciated better estimates from the company. We were quoted an hourly rate and a 1-hr travel fee. The estimated time was 2 hours and for arrival at 3 PM. The arrival time was 5 PM, and the move lasted until after 10 PM. So the time estimates were not correct. This also increased the travel fee. So 5 hours labor, the travel fee, plus gas mileage expense, and some supplies, for everything including the $100 deposit, it was $1,300 to move. I was a bit shocked but maybe that's normal with today's prices. There were no issues with the move.

They also damaged our hardwood floors and walls! I was going to get regular piano movers but they said they could do it. They refuse to pay us for the damage. They said it would take 3-4 hours to move us b/c my husband had all of the boxes . All they had to only move the large furniture, and it took them 8 hours @ &259/hour! Needless to say, what should have cost$1000 ended up costing $3000!! They only had to move us 2.5 miles! They left more furniture at old house and we never saw this crew again! I called the office and they had to send another crew out to finish the job at 6:00! Oh, and they broke one of our tall boy dressers-- lifted it from the middle, and they should have lifted it from the bottom, like moist movers!! also asked for their tips (one mover in particular) every half hour!
