The three kids who showed up to do our move were friendly and congenial. They wrapped absolutely everything in padding. Which was both good and bad. Kept things from breaking, but also added hours onto the job and don't really seam necessary for quite a few objects. Overall, there were no major breakages and our stuff got moved. But this wouldn't be my first choice for movers. read more

We hired Move Indy to pack and load our moving trailer for a cross country move. It was a 3 bedroom house with a full garage. We expected a professional crew who would take care of our items and pack them with precision and thoughtful placement. On the day, the crew showed up and worked very fast. They were working in multiple rooms at once and then loading the trailer. It took them the whole day to get it all done. They were very nice young men and we thought they did a good job... in the moment. Once the trailer arrived a week and a half later - we found out what really happened. We only have enough hanging clothes to fill 2 wardrobe boxes, yet we ended up with 15 of them... thats because their version of "packing" was just dumping everything into these big wardrobe boxes, no organization, no precision, just dumping everything. Of course we were paying for each box they used, and wouldn't you know it... the wardrobe boxes were the most expensive. Additionally, several of our furniture pieces are damaged including brand new chairs, both our new washer and dryer (they put a metal bed frame against them in the trailer that rubbed on it the entire time in transit) broken lamps, broken legs off tables, missing items, etc. I took photos of everything and sent them an email about it - I got a response that they would fix and/or replace the damaged and broken items. I then get another email a few days later that they were going to open an "internal investigation" and something about how they aren't responsible because their liability ends once they leave the job site. My items have been locked in a trailer of which I have the only key and somehow its not their fault, or they didn't cause the damage. I have emailed them at least 4 more times since then asking about the results of the "internal investigation", etc. and they have not responded. They will not respond back to me. We hired them based on reviews that they were the BEST in INDY!!! That is a absolute lie. I cannot speak to their small 1 bedroom across town moves - but DO NOT HIRE THEM FOR LARGE HOUSE PACKING AND LOADING! And to the Move Indy Rep who will undoubtedly respond to this review with some BS about "Thanks for the feedback..." - don't bother. You are only responding because I am calling you out publicly - shame on you! Do what you said you were going to do and repair/replace my broken items. read more

We were moving locally to a house we were building, and needed things packed and put in storage for several months. If you have a small move, no valuables, are packing yourself, and don't need storage, these people seem to be ok for others. We we downsizing from a 5 bedroom, 4 bathroom, 2-story with a walkout into a 2400 sq.ft. house we built. To be fair, the crew that moved us into the new house after things had been in storage with Move Indy for 4 months did great. The crew who packed the dining room and kitchen in the old house did great. The crew who packed the remaining items in the house and put them into storage did a terrible job. First, and astoundingly, they have no inventory systems. Boxes and items are not numbered an accounted for. They lost a bench and an ladder in the process. They did mark items very haphazardly. Our kitchen silverware was finally discovered in a box marked Master Bedroom. Boxes that included the contents of drawers were simply dumped into boxes and not wrapped, so that pens, notepads, paperclips, etc had to be individually sorted out from a full to the brim midsize box. Multiple artworks were packed in one box with no paper around them so that the frames got scratched. Flower arrangements were thrown in the bottom of a box with silver candlesticks tossed on top of them. Two Hekman tables and a leaf for the dining room table were broken and are being repaired. A lamp was broken. Lampshades were not packed and one was destroyed. The poor crew who unloaded asked "where does this go" and with no marking or inventory I couldn't tell them. Cost them and us time moving in. They couldn't find the parts to put our bed back together, and the angel on the new crew called the company, determined who took it apart in the first place, and found out the parts where in his kit bag three months later!! We've moved many, many times, but never with a local company. We've never ever had this kind of damage. Call professionals. read more

It has been over 90 days since our move and the thousands of dollars worth of damage to our items. We have not received a single cent of compensation. My advice, don't use this company, and if you have to for some reason, withhold the final payment until you have confirmed all of the damage associated with your move! They are decent at moving. Didn't think everything through in regards to moving a golf cart and only sent one plank/ramp for the truck so couldn't drive it up. It was a hazard to the movers so we went another route. The 3 movers they sent were very efficient and friendly. Don't bother with the "free" 2 hour cleaning service. I still don't know what that person was doing in my house for the last 90 minutes after I left. I sent pictures showing the areas I asked to be prioritized as not cleaned at all. I am writing to express my extreme dissatisfaction and disgust with the services provided by your company during my recent move. What should have been a straightforward and professional process turned into an exploitative situation that left me feeling extremely taken advantage of. Your team went an hour and a half over the high end of the quoted estimate, inflating the final cost far beyond what I was led to expect. As a young adult just starting out in life, I placed my trust in your company to provide honest, fair, and reliable service. Instead, I was met with a lack of integrity and a clear disregard for both your own estimate and my circumstances. The experience was not only financially damaging but also emotionally exhausting. A moving company should make a stressful life transition easier, not worse. I feel as though your staff deliberately dragged out the process to increase charges, exploiting my situation rather than respecting it. I've requested a prompt review of my bill and a fair adjustment to reflect the original quoted range. I spoke with the manager on two occasions so far and have been promised a call back on both occasions. I have not received a call back. Estimate was between 680 and 900, at the end I was charged over 1,200! And they had the audacity to ask for a tip. I discussed this with the ops manager and all he said was well I'm sorry sometimes it takes longer. The moving guys were OK. I would give 6 stars if I could! Jordan and Omar came out and did an excellent job putting the refrigerator back into its location. When the fridge was slid all the way in, a water line got kinked. Unfortunately, I didn't notice until the guys had left. Well, I called the office, talked to the nice folks there, and they got the crew to turn around. First of all let me say my movers were awesome in regards to concern and customer service. They told me beforehand about scratching my washer and I appreciated that. They also were very apologetic about leaving my bed frame (which they offered to pick up off the clock) at the old house. I told them that I would get it and that it was ok because I didn't think I would have a lot to bring over. They asked questions and their concern about my new driveway and them not using it was an added bonus. I have a newly built home and they educated me on having too much weight on a new driveway. I definitely paid for their experience but I'm still moving a lot of stuff AFTER I've paid $1000 for 7 hours. The reason why I'm giving them 3 stars is because of the price and how move was done. I explained that the main goal is for all my big things to go in the truck and if some of the little didn't fit I could put them in my car. Let's just say after it was all said and done I still had to pack 1/2 a house to take over to my new home by myself. I'm exhausted and I paid $1000 for a move that was less than 6 miles away is ridiculous. I have a four bedroom home with a garage (info I have gave early on). Technically they only moved 2 queen beds, 1 was a set the other I took done myself to cut on time. You would think if a customer is moving an entire house a bigger truck should have done the job with 2 workers. It wasn't. I spent all day yesterday and part of today finishing the job myself. I move around a lot and they did job a great job at packing but I have NEVER had to do this much work after a move. If you want more bang for your buck and you don't want to stress about what's left I would suggest going with another company. Having two guys with a small truck doesn't get the job done quick but you will pay more because it takes longer. The guys were so cool I offered one of them my son's bunk bed set (it's not even 2 yrs old) because he's getting a new bed. They were supposed to call and pick it up yesterday. I received no call, they left their tools and now I have to break that down as well and get rid of it before I turn in my keys. I could've sold that bed. Overall just added stress that I don't need. Would I choose this company for another move? I would if it was something small but if it was a big project (like a whole house) absolutely not. Save yourself the back pain and time. Emily, the booking agent was easy to work with and always responsive to my questions or needs. She provided me with a very reasonable quote for my local move. On my moving day, Mark and Ryan arrived timely and were absolutely the best. I couldn't have asked for two better guys! We first walked through my house so they had an idea of my possessions. Then they got to work! They were friendly and very efficient, but also made sure all of my things were well-protected. When we arrived at the destination, they asked me how I wanted the furniture arranged and made sure to carefully stack the remaining boxes where I wanted them placed. They quickly reassembled my bed, as well. I was sent the final invoice via email at the completion of my move, and was able to conveniently pay online. It was an even better price than I'd expected! Very good sales team. That's about it. Their quote was considerably higher than the others, but they convinced me that their services were worth it. On moving day, things quickly went down hill. I wasn't at the old place when they got everything loaded. The mover called to ask if they should wait for me to return, or head to the new spot, leaving the door unlocked. I advised to head to the new spot and I would go lock the door behind them. When I arrived, much to my surprise, the door was wide open. They hadn't even shut the door when they left! At the new spot, in the process of unloading, one of the movers got blood on my wall from a finger injury and didn't say anything. They also left trash outside the truck at both locations. The real kicker was, they broke my TV. They offered less than $50 for a 5yo large flat screen. That's not even enough to dispose of the broken TV. They also tried to charge me hundreds of dollars more than I was quoted until I showed them proof of my initial quote. I don't know if their positive reviews are fake, but my experience was very different. Lesson learned, you don't always get what you pay for! read more

Snow "shoveling" took 5 minutes max. Check the weather report for 12/18 -- a light powdery snow, no ice. I walked over it in regular shoes. Best day of the week. If I could rate this company a 0 out of 5 I would. We used their services to move from Franklin, IN to St. Paul Minnesota. We were told that the packing would take 4 hours. The crew was at our house for 6 house. At one point one of the crew members left due to not feeling well. At our home, they scratched the floor, damaged a wall, and knocked the control panel for our air conditioning unit off the wall. Upon arrival in St. Paul, the trucks looked like our belongs had just been thrown on a truck without any order. Nothing was secured. The first item to be damaged was a box of Christmas ornaments that were in a plastic bin. The top was not secured and family ornaments with meaning were broken. When bringing items into our home many items were damaged as well as walls. Here are a few more examples of the poor service. Once the crew left, I noticed a board in our closet. After investigating where it could have come from, the board actually should have been part of our bed. They just neglected to tell us that they did not put the bed together and just left a board in our closet. We have lost hardware for dressers and storage closets. At one point, my sister in law was in the truck directing them on where to put things and we were carrying boxes. A dresser drawer is also broken. After we made initial complaints on both moves were told we would contacted by the company. It took 3 days in both instances for someone to actually call us. We paid a total of $13,000 for this lack of service. The best they could do was $350 repayment. I would NEVER recommend this group to anyone. read more

Great guys! Dwayne, Bam Bam and Brente (Did I spell that correctly? I only asked 4 times.) were so lovely to work with. They were on time and even called to give me a 30 min heads up when they were on the way. They were not even dazed when the elevator was broken when they first arrived. (4th floor). move Indy damaged two pieces of my floor. I am a very understanding person and they told me it would be fixed. I waited two days and no one reached out to me. I texted move Indy and they told me they would have someone come out on Thursday. The man came out and told me one piece needed completely replaced. I asked him if we could replace all 3 pieces so it would match. He said that was fine. Two days went by and once again no one reached out to me. I texted move Indy and they told me they would come out on Monday. 30 minutes before my appointment on Monday I got a call from move Indy claiming there was an emergency and they needed to reschedule. I told them that was fine. They came the next day and told me the piece they ordered was too light and had to order another piece. Then he went into the hallway and used wax on the pieces he told me he was going to replace? My husband asked what he was doing? He said he wanted to try that first before "ripping up our floors". The wax obviously didn't work and was too light for our floors. He told me he would have to come back AGAIN to fix it. I called move Indy immediately and asked to speak to Caleb (the owner) because I have missed 2 days of work and my floors still aren't fixed. I've yet to hear back from move Indy. Highly recommend! I used Move Indy to unload 16' of a 28' trailer. Great service from beginning to end. Quick and friendly responses via email and phone. My delivery was a day late and they were flexible to adjust and change the date. The guys that unloaded the trailer did a great job. They were very careful with all my belongings and were a pleasuree to work with. I can't say enough about the great service they provided. The entire process from beginning to end caleb was professional and NOT pushy. That is one of the main reasons i booked them! I got quotes from many other companies that seemed to be focused on closing the booking. When they arrived the movers were professional and friendly. They showed care about my things and let me know up front that it would take a little longer than anticipated. I appreciated the honesty and the witty sense of humor my movers had! In the end it cost me a little more but WELL worth the money. I would definetly book them again without hesitation. Move Indy was able to squeeze me in on pretty short notice and move a lot of heavy furniture within my home. A job I expected to take two hours was done in under 45 minutes! The guys were super nice and friendly and super efficient. They also were able to navigate narrow hallways and door frames and got a couch into my basement I wasn't sure would ever fit! So I will start this by saying customer service for this company in setting up a move is great. When it comes to the move itself do not use these people. Use Two Sons and a Truck. I have done two moves and used both companies unfortunately move Indy broke more of my property and then would not cover the damage. Jeff the ops manager stated that they do not cover particle board furniture and i could locate this within my contract. After doing some research I questioned this as it was not a true statement. When confronted with this information I was told that it was under their new contracts, not mine. After this information the company still refuses to cover the entertainment center they broke and said "it's hard to believe 1 person over two people" this statement was referencing he talked to the movers and they said it was broke and told me about. This was a flat out lie. At the end of the day they only covered some of the damages. Didn't offer to repair anything just offer compensation. I say again use them at your own risk. After my experience I will never use them again. read more

We hired Move Indy to assist us moving out of our home in Geist on 6/9/21. We had already moved everything out of our home except for the items we had no way of moving/transporting ourselves. We arranged for the movers to come on a Wednesday (as we closed in two days). When the 3 movers arrived, I showed them around the house so they could see what needed to be moved. They told me they would head out to their truck and back it up into our driveway. About 10 minutes later, the lead mover came in and told me they wouldn't be able to do our move. When I asked why, he replied it was due to the cicadas outside. I was floored! He stated it was a safety hazard for his movers and they could not be worrying about stepping on one or having it land on them. I honestly thought I was on some hidden prank show. I explained we had been moving out all week and had not been bothered at all by them. The movers claimed their truck was being swarmed and proceeded to show me pictures they took of the cicadas on their truck. I explained we needed to be out that day and we had no other means to accomplish the move. He again stated they would not be doing the move but assured me they weren't scared of the bugs. I could not understand why they would walk out on our move at the last second. He stated maybe he could try and come the next day. Again, I was floored! Why would I risk having them come back the next day only to bail on me again???? I asked if he would wait for A to get home so he could talk to him. He stated they wouldn't wait but that he could call him to discuss the move. The 3 movers nearly fell over themselves getting out the door which was odd since they had been hired to do our move It felt as if they had other plans. As I helplessly watched these grown men quit and leave over cicadas, I noticed out the window they never even pulled into our drive! Clearly, they had no intention of moving us and did not care in the slightest that they had more than inconvenienced us. The lead mover that day never answered our calls. We called the office who promised someone would call us back. Nope! No call. They already had our down payment and then the office didn't answer or return our second follow up call!!!! Unbelievable! Our realtor gave us this company's name. I made sure to tell our realtor how unprofessional, frustrating, and laughable this experience was. When my friends and family asked us about our move, no one could believe it! After the initial shock, everyone laughed at the ridiculous reason for the cancellation of our move. We have yet to receive a call about what happened. We were left in a terrible position in an already stressful time. This was an AWFUL experience and I would never recommend this company to anyone! read more

I contacted Move Indy to do a small in town move last week. The estimate was sent promptly and I was able to schedule the move within a few days. The receptionist was very friendly and professional. The 3 movers were on time, although they did not call first as I had requested. They were very strong and finished the move in about 2 hours. Unfortunately I was billed for 2.5 hours even though it only took 2 hours, or 2 1/4 at the most. I paid the invoice, then called the receptionist. She told me the owner would be contacting me by the end of the day about the overcharge. That was last Friday and I have not heard anything from him. So, pros: strong movers, very friendly. Cons: overcharged. I'm sad that this happened. Edit: No one called me back on Friday. The movers arrived at 1pm. Yes, it was less than the estimate, but it took much less time than what was estimated. If I had received a call back I was ready to give a 3-star review regardless of the charge. You don't seem to care about your customers. Accusing me of lying about what your receptionist told me is not good business. Your guys arrived at 1 (I texted my son when they arrived) and were done at 2:55. I have phone records that show they were not at my house at 12:30.
