The initial customer service was great. They sent 1 male and 1 female to move our house. We were quoted $650 for 3 hours and they were to arrive at 10am. They showed up at 10:05am and took 2 breaks before 11:30am. My husband assisted with the move to speed them along and they unloaded everything at the new house at 12:55pm. They charged us an extra $100 dollars because they said that the 3 hour window counts for 30 minutes of travel, yet we still completed the entire move within 3 hours with my help and multiple breaks by them. read more

My experience with J Lopez Moving was a complete disaster. We have moved many times across several states and have never encountered such a lack of professionalism. Booking & Communication: There is no formal booking process or written quote. Communication was hit-or-miss; they rarely answer the phone and take a long time to return voicemails. The Crew: On the day of the move (Dec 30), they arrived late. Instead of the professional crew we expected, they sent a man and a woman who were completely unequipped for a household move. The woman spoke no English, and the man's English was very limited, making it impossible to communicate instructions for assembly or careful handling. The Outcome: They arrived without basic equipment like dollies or wrapping materials, despite being told they would provide these. After moving only three small items, the man tried to significantly increase the hourly estimate from 3 to 5 hours and began "negotiating" while on our time. When we insisted on the original terms, he simply cancelled the move on the spot, unloaded the three items, and left. This company is only suited for very small, local moves of light items that require no special handling. If you have heavy furniture or require professional assembly/wrapping, do NOT hire them. They are disorganized, unprofessional, and will leave you stranded. While I appreciate the clarification from your perspective, I must respectfully disagree with several points, as our experience on-site did not align with your description. They arrived with a two-man crew and finished the entire job in 2.5 hours--matching our original estimate and costing a total of $400. This stands in stark contrast to your team's insistence that the move would require 5 hours and a higher fee. The fact that another company performed the work safely and efficiently in half the time your team quoted confirms that our expectations were entirely realistic for a professional crew. Furthermore, while you mentioned your trucks are fully equipped, the two individuals sent to our home did not bring a dolly or wrapping materials into the house to begin the move, which caused immediate concern regarding the safety of our belongings. Regarding communication, while your office may have sent emails, the breakdown occurred on-site; the movers' inability to discuss assembly or handling instructions in English created a significant barrier to a successful move. However, the quoted rate changed upon arrival because they didn't realize the move was intrastate (120 miles) rather than just in the city. My movers were a male and female duo and in short, they did the damn thing! They had the right equipment to do the job and were working smart! Customer service was great but didnt give me an option for a bigger truck so i wasnt able to fit everything on there which made me feel like it was a waste of time. When they showed up jt was a male and female which also makes me feel like it had a lot to do with my time. I had to step in and help them with the move. Which i hire movers so i dont have to touch anything. Broke the bed rails down but i cant find my screws and he didnt put it back together. Most companies when they break it down they put it back together. Called them several times but got no answer. Once we got to the apartment they kinda threw everything around with no order... i tried to organize as much as i could but they kept handing me boxes. We went 30 minutes over and it went from 450 to 600 and i wasnt having that. How do you TRY to charge me $150 for 30 minutes and i HAD to help you move? I was working just as hard. He adjusted it to half of that. Overall they handled my items with ease. They were on time. But the husband and wife duo threw me off. I much prefer two males. Ok I was very pleased with the services offered by Lopez moving. I have a ton of stuff and had even bought a new set of bookshelf to move to my new house that were at a store. The movers were right on time. Ready to go had all the supplies you could need. They will work hard and I mean non stop until you get done with your moving needs. Disassembled my sons loft bed and put it back together. I had absolutely no damages at all. Truck was clean as were the movers. I will be using them again as I have so much stuff it will take two or so trips. Pricing is straightforward depending on how big the truck and how many movers you will be simply billed by the hour. On New Years Day At around 7:00 pm I sent a message through Yelp to movers in the Indy area asking for a quote to move two dressers from our garage to our upstairs. Lopez Movers responded with a reasonable quote. It is now January 2nd at 10:55 am; a little more than 12 hours later, the Lopez movers have already done a great job and they are gone. We bought two new dressers from Wayfair that were delivered to our garage. They were extremely heavy. Even with the drawers removed, we were not going to be able to maneuver the dressers upstairs to the bedrooms where I wanted them. Lopez movers got here on time. The two men went right to work and the dressers are now upstairs WITHOUT A SCRATCH!!! The men were polite, quiet and hard working. If we need anything else moved, I'm calling J. I would not recommend. They dropped our hutch, broke the glass in it, damaged the wood door to where it no longer closes, left a huge ding in our wood floor and put a huge gouge in our drywall in a place that we can't reach and will require a professional to come fix. As they were leaving and charging us they didn't offer a single penny off. When we asked, what do we do about our stuff they offered $75.00 off. All of these repairs are easy $300 or more. Very responsive and worked with our schedule. I was very optimistic. When packing the two bedroom apartment, made separate areas for boxes that went inside and boxes that went to storage. The movers completely mixed these two up and now I have about a days work in front of me to remove the boxes from storage, resort and repack. Because they just threw everything in storage, that will have to be cleaned up too. After the move, the bill was about $200 more than it should have been, and when talking to the company, they could not justify why it was higher, even after compensating for the piano charge and taxes. Called owner and discussed the total and he could not confirm why the total hours were different and therefore the invoice higher. He refunded $20 on an $850 move. They have good reviews on Yelp, but our experience was poor. Will not use again or recommend. read more

This company was very misleading and missed quoted me twice. When I signed up for the project I submitted pictures of everything I had to the owner. He assured me in a reply text that it would be a $500 flat rate. A few days later, I get a call saying I was miss quoted, and the rate would be even more. I decided to go with them based on the reviews for a $500 flat rate for three hours and then $150 per hour after. The lady assured me that with what I had it shouldn't take more than three hours. On the day of the move two people show up in a small 17 foot truck one of them a man the other one a woman. This is odd because I stressed that we have a Posturepedic bed with a huge, heavy bedframe and there's no way she could've helped him Move this down the stairs. When they came into my home, then they told me it would take 7 to 8 hours? Are you kidding me? This is a joke, and I hope people take this serious when they read this.
