I moved from Indy to SoCal, and this was my first big move. When I knew I'd be moving cross country, I was faced with a barrage of moving options, all of which were quite expensive. However, I kept getting ads for U-Pack and decided to get a quote. TLDR - I am SO happy I went with this service as the process was transparent, simple, and convenient. I had about a studio apartment's worth of furniture in a 5x10 storage unit. The U-Pack team in Indy helped accommodate me and where the cube could be placed at my storage facility. The person who dropped off the cube was communicative, clear, and provided helpful advice for packing. One thing I did not realize I would need is LOTS of bungee cords and ratchet straps to hold things down, so be sure to have plenty on hand before your cube arrives. During the move, I checked the "moving dashboard" (the online portal that includes all the details of your move) religiously. It always had up-to-date information about where my cube was, which helped ease my anxiety about the move progress. My cube was picked up on a Wednesday in Indiana, and arrived the next Friday morning in California, which was right in the middle of my estimated time block (which was 5-7 business days). The movers who dropped it off were equally courteous and helpful, as I was putting my cube on the street. If you are moving to a city/area without a driveway, be sure to get all of the proper legal clearance to park your cube. I applied for a temporary no-parking permit for week to accommodate the cube if it arrived early or late. Some other tips: I cannot overstate how important it is to CALL the U-Pack customer service line for a quote/arrangements, as the online quote tool will shoot way above what your actual price will be. Secondly, the online dashboard and the ability to change details about your move online is very convenient and useful. I changed the drop-off time several times and it was always updated instantaneously. All in all, this service was seamless and helped me as a first time mover, and everyone from on-the-phone customer service reps to ABF Freight movers were exceptionally kind and helpful. I have researched for quite some time the best approach that is reliable and cost effective for my out of state move. Moving van line companies ( the licensed ones) can cost minimum $1,500-on up. They have people that will break down ore furniture and pack for u too. PODS more known across the board are expensive. PACKRAT their containers are twice the size of RE-LOCUBES and u can keep them for up to a month to load or unload are more. I would maybe consider them if I had a lot to more things than what was in my 1bedroom apartment. I had to use 2 relocubes for a one bedroom apartment. These cubes are inexpensive. All you need is to pack it yourself and put locks on them. (2 per cube) you have 2 days to unload. I'm in an apartment complex and had people I hired to unload so if I call same day .. they will pick cubes up next day to get them out of the way. I stored them for about s year due to not knowing where I was moving so each pod was about $150/ month to store if you need more time to find a place! I'm super pleased with them and highly recommend!! read more

Was 9.5 hours late delivering our Pod in Indiana. It was supposed to be delivered between 9-2pm but didn't show up until 1030pm. The supervisor in Indy was rude and argumentative and couldn't give any type of ETA on our pod. He finally told us that we wouldn't be getting it that day because he told the driver to go home, then hung up on us. Price was the only good thing as we were moving to California. The delivery of the pod to our new residence is the only reason they get more than 1 star. Very professional with excellent communication. read more

My boyfriend and I moved from IN to OR in the middle of the COVID pandemic. We chose U-Pack because of the flexibility with pricing and the great customer service, and I'm glad we did! We chose to do the 'pay for what you use' option with the trailer, and it worked out really well. Much less expensive than a whole pod for just two of us on a cross-country move. There were a few mix ups, like the bulk head not showing up when it was supposed to, and the lock we had on hand did not fit the hole it was supposed to go into, but the team was quick to solve the situation, and patient while we found a new lock! We used UPack Late November 2015 to move from Houston, TX to Fishers, IN. We ordered three storage units which fit comfortably on our single car driveway in Houston. We only used two pods in the end because we stuffed every square inch of that thing. They only charged us for two storage units because we didn't need the third. I believe the cost is $200 per storage unit and the remainder of cost is travel, so where you move to. Our trip was just over $1000 for two pods from Texas to Indiana. Customer service is incredible for this company. Our pod arrival date initially was December 1st, when our pods arrived earlier than expected to Indianapolis, we immediately got notice we could have them the day before thanksgiving. That saved us from eating our turkey dinner on the floor. Thank you. Some suggestions: 1. You need to order locks from UPack to lock the doors, I recommend putting the locks on the right side door. 2. You will need rope, bubble wrap, packing paper, and straps. Everything needs to be secure, be sure to have extra cardboard or towels or even sheets and pillow cases or blankets to put between the furniture and the straps to not cause wear. The pods go through a rough journey but if you pack like we did you will have no issues with things breaking. There are tons of support points in the pod to hold things together. 3. Practice knots, go google knots and figure out the easiest ones to untie that still hold strong. 4. They will say this, but don't use anything other than cardboard boxes. Plastic shatters. I recommend asking your local liquor store for boxes. Most of the cardboard they get in shipments are designed to hold handles of alcohol, great for storage, or tear out the separators and use it as a regular box 5. write down the POD numbers in as many places as you need to. 6. Get a dolly. It is your best friend loading and unloading from a pod that is slightly taller than the ground. 7. If you are in a major city with minimal driveway space, contact your city to see if pods can be stored on the street, you don't want to come home to a ticket or worse, it's been removed with all your things inside. If you have no place at your house, rent a space at a storage place for an RV. Yes, you have to have another step of driving your boxes and furniture, but it will be cheaper still in the end, and less stressful than driving a Uhaul cross country. 8. Furniture. If it can be taken apart at all, do it. It saves so much space in the pod. We didn't realize our antique dining table came apart until we tried, and it fit nice and snug. 9. You can keep the pod for three days. It arrives Tuesday, they pick it up Friday. Etc etc. Good luck with your move! read more

We moved from the Indianapolis area to Charlotte, NC. The move and movers were awesome. Everything arrived exactly on time. Just want to note that the storage units are small. I was told 1 would move a 2 bedroom apartment. No way. I was lucky that the delivery man had an extra one on his truck. Even with 2 units, we didn't have enough room for everything. I had a 4 bed 2.5 bath house for 20 yrs. I had sold all my dining room furniture, kitchen furniture, living room furniture and 3 bedrooms of furniture prior to moving. This left only 1 bedroom + garage and boxes. 2 Units were still not enough and we had to leave behind a lot. I'd suggest a minimum of 4 units if you have a 3bd/2.5 bath home. read more

YOU PACK was recommended to me by a friend. When I called, the gentleman I spoke with made it so easy to book my move. Everything was done exactly on schedule. The driver who dropped off the trailer explained everything to me. He was very kind. My trailer arrived as scheduled and once again the driver was very nice. I am more than pleased with the entire process. The only thing I would suggest is that the company that sent the men to unload, you should not use them again. One man, heavy set with red checked jacket did almost all the work. The other two men were constantly MIA! I had to stay after those two like children! I moved from Bloomington, Indiana, to Lynchburg, Virginia, with the help of U-Pack. Overall, the experience was fine. Customer service was very different in each location. Staff in the distribution office in Indianapolis (where our relocubes were delivered from) had difficulty finding our reservation, acted as if they had never spoken to me each and every time I called, and, most significantly, could only give me a 12-hour window during which our cubes would be dropped off (and during which I had to be home waiting on them). The actual delivery person was very helpful and gave me several tips on how to pack the cubes and distribute the weight of the items. On the Virginia end, our full cubes were delivered from the Roanoke office. Staff in VA were much friendlier and, importantly, much more informed about when the cubes would arrive. Rather than having to be home from work an entire day, I had a window of time in the afternoon when I knew they would arrive. Overall, my items were in good shape when they arrived. Take note of U-Pack's recommendations, and be sure to use blankets, plastic wrap, and other packing materials to protect and secure your items. read more
