I called you on October 9, 2023, at 10:53 AM and left a message to tell you that I was pulling my boat out on November 6, 2023, to put it in winter storage. You called me back at 12:03 PM the same day and told me that I would have to pay for the entire month of November. I had no problem with that. You said that you normally get a 30-day written notice of departing your facility but since we were talking, you would accept the verbal notice (this should have been in your notes). My wife accidentally paid you twice and you admit it.  On November 6th I pulled my boat off your property and moved it to winter storage.  When I got home my wife told me about the double payment. I called you at 1:27 PM on November 6th to inform you about the double payment. You told me you posted the double payment for November and December, and I was covered for December storage fee even though I was not storing anything on your property, and you were not giving me my money back. I posted my review on YELP on November 6th to warn others of your corrupt business practice. You called me at 2:09 PM after reading the review on YELP on the 6th and left me a voice mail which included the following: "Hey Bruce, Todd Payne here, I went back and looked at all my records, NOTES, and everything and I don't see anything that you've notified me that you were leaving for 30 days but what I can do is take that EXTRA PAYMENT THAT YOUR WIFE MADE that I posted for December and KEEP IT and hold your spot for you. You'll start back up in the summer and make payments. Just give me a call back".  These are your words, Todd. You are admitting to keeping the extra payment and not returning my money even though you were notified in October. Why don't you have any records and I do. I am warning everyone to stay away, or you will have to shut your MONTH!

I leased two storage units with the Avon Indiana location - one in September 2024 and a second in…read moreNovember 2024. After 2 months, rent increased 25%. On second unit, rent increased 30% after 2 months. I provided the required insurance documentation (in person) for each unit when lease established. Each time, they lost the documentation and threatened to add an insurance premium to the rent amount. I provided it to them again - in person. I have always pre-paid the rent amount prior to the due date - in person. Yesterday I received an email from them advising me that I needed to electronically sign a lease agreement for the second unit I had acquired back in November. They claimed it was not signed - but I have a copy of the signed lease. They advised that until I sign the lease (that has a rental rate that increased from the one I signed back in November) , that my gate access for both units is turned off and I can access neither unit. They refused to acknowledge that the error is theirs and that by denying access to any of the units that I have paid for in advance and have signed leases on is "not their problem" and the only way to fix it is to sign the increased lease and then they will reactivate access to both units. Guess who I am going to turn in to the governing agencies. They are denying me access to my property due to their negligence. AVOID THIS COMPANY! ***Update - after being promised a return phone call to address the fact that their error prevented me from accessing my pre-paid storage units (and my incurring costs to reimburse a buyer who traveled 300 miles round trip to pick up an item from me that was in the storage unit but not accessible), no return call was received. I gave them another week and a half after the promised date to respond. They did not. After another visit to the office, I overheard the manager indicate to the property manager on the phone that "I was small peanuts and they were going to ignore me and not take any responsibility for their error". So, if you want to be treated like a peanut, this place is for you. If you want to be treated like a valued customer, choose another place.
