My husband showed up with 2 truckloads of our things at 10:20 and no one was there and it was obvious they were still closed from the night before. Customer service via the call center is a joke. We both were calling and despite talking to 4-5 people no one could help us and no one called us back as requested. My husband was able to use the kiosk to get a key and pay despite it restarting several times only to find out the gate code it provided didn't work. Finally after 11 someone showed up and let my husband in and he was able to unload the trucks into our unit. The following Monday we followed up to voice our frustration and let them know we weren't sure we were going to stay a few months as we intended. Long story short rather than an apology we were kicked out and told our stuff needed to be out the next day. We had to load up our things and find another storage location. Global Self Storage has terrible customer service and at the end of the day they might just kick you out if they don't like what you have to say. Not worth it!

But then I discovered that the exact same unit could be booked through the web portal for $34/month. I phoned the site manager and tried to get the company to just do a transfer or give me the rate from the internet. I was told it "wasn't possible". Then I spent an hour moving all my stuff. There was nobody in the office at the location to respond to help with checkout/checkin and closeout of the old unit, even tough it was during advertised business hours. When I reached out to their customer service by phone the next day, I got a totally different story and was told I could have just done an account transfer. They didn't want to give me a prorated month for the unit we moved out of. Just seems like the left hand doesn't know what the right hand is doing here. I called Madge 3 times and got no response...

Buyer/renter beware. The online special for a 5x10 unit is $32 per month. I rented a 5x10 in 2020…read moreat $40 per month. they drastically increase the price every 6 to 12 months. (always just seems on a whim, first increase was just 6 months or so after renting unit, the specials seem so scammy when that rent doesn't last long.) Long story short, the new increase starting march 1st for my unit is $115 per month they plan on sticking me. Totally absurd. If you are renting for 6 months or less then you should be ok. If you want longer than that and don't want your rent per month to TRIPLE in less than 4 years I would highly suggest looking else where. Now off to empty out my unit and get out of this ridiculous payment.

Not only that they were able to get me in under the Spring discount which saved me even more money. They didn't have to do that but they did. Honesty, integrity and incredible customer service. They have even fielded phone calls from home when I needed them. Facility is SECURE, well lit and have music playing so you don't feel like your in alone in a haunted movie. Units are CLEAN and in great shape. Easy ACCESS with keypads at all entrances, elevator and entry doors. Excellent experience. Highly recommend.
