Our 2020 RV was stolen from this location in July 2024. Facility did not notify us even though they do a weekly space check. We discovered the theft in October. The on site manager was a nightmare. While waiting for the police to arrive she locked up the office and left out the back door without a word. The regional manager was helpful in the end. Anyone can drive through the "secure" gate. Just follow a car in or out. The day after our discovery the gate was wide open and NO management on site. Cameras are useless. The thieves used a Uhaul and hooked up to our vehicle with a chain and waltzed out of there. Put your own cameras and tracker inside your vehicle for extra security but definitely do NOT use this company. read more

1) They tried to double their rental fees on me and I had to call and negotiate it down but still raised it by around $40 1.5) when I came in they failed to have me sign their paper work and when they realized their error when I called about the price hike they said they could have thrown my belongings away. 2) They tried to sell me insurance for $69 a month 3) when I went to unload my things they were covered in rat droppings and rat urine. 4) They said they were sorry but because I didn't pay the extortionist insurance fee there was nothing they could do. The one star is that all of my stuff was there when I came back for it. So that was nice. Just, you know, covered in rat $#!+ and P!$$. read more

We needed to locate a clean, safe facility to consolidate our storage from two different locations and are quite happy we ended up here. They had the space we needed, check in was friendly and easy and the rental terms were made clear up front. The grounds are secure and always kept clean. No complaints. Will recommend. I have used Extra Space Storage 3 times over a 20 year period. I have never been disappointed with this facility. Each time was for an extended number of months. Each time I entered the building it was clean and even smelled good. We have a very small storage unit (the smallest possible) at this location that we have had for about 3 months and paid $100/month. They recently raised the monthly cost by over 50% per month to $160. How can the prices change so drastically in 3 months?! It feels like they give you a good price to get you in and then up the price once you move all of your stuff in and don't want to have to move it again. Terrible - they're looking to rip you off so avoid this place and go with somewhere more trustworthy. read more

Stay away would be my recommendation! its really funny if you look at their website they have a 4.9 star reviews. however they don't show any negative reviews. this is typical of them. they don't tell you when they quote prices that they don't include a mandatory fee for insurance.they mandate insurance even if you are covered by your own insurance. it's the worst of the worst. when I asked additional questions ie. are you Independently owner or franchised? I was asked to leave. the worst customer service! ask these questions before you rent. They desperately called me 2x in an hour to try and get me to rent the unit before seeing it. it was almost harassing I told them 3x I'd be in before noon. Good Luck! read more

Great place! Its gated, and has a security camera system. The property is very clean. There are flat beds available that are high quality and in excellent working order. Made unloading our truck load so easy. Both Jessica and Anthony were very professional, friendly and helpful. The rental process was quick and easy, and we were able to do it all online. I rented a space and bought a disk lock from them. My unit was broken into and a lot of things were stolen. I had other peoples empty boxes in my unit which I believe they used as a staging area as my unit was right by the door. I had the only two keys supposedly but my lock was intact and not tampered with. We had our belongings temporarily here as our house was being finished. This is a devastating loss for us as they Stole my mother and grandmother's urns of their ashes. they took such random things like the leafs and legs to dinning table but not table and chairs. I believe they were going to come take it all I just got it before they did. These people felt very comfortable with my unit which leads me to believe it was an inside job. I called management and spoke with Jessica and asked to have all cameras footage preserved and a copy made. she was less than helpful and said they won't turn that over I told her the police would be asking for it and she said not without a warrant. and asked if I was pursuing litigation. I asked for her manager number she said she was the manager I asked for corporate number and she said good luck with that and hung up on me. I have called corporate 2 times and asked to speak with someone and no one ever calls me back. This is a disaster of a company avoid at all costs! read more

Better think twice about renting here.....had a space and they raised my rental rate twice which was almost a $100 more within a year. When I asked why, their explanation was that they can adjust the rate at will to the going rate in the market. Really? 2 raises of the rate in less than a year? Bye Bye....They think they have got you over a barrel because most people don't want to take the effort it takes to pack everything up and move it again somewhere else.....Seems like a calculated rip off to me....and in Cathedral City..........Best to look elsewhere as I am sure there is a better and more decently run storage company to rent from. read more

The site manager, Jessica C., provided outstanding customer service and was always ready to help me, no matter how many questions I had. After putting down my deposit, my escrow fell through, and I no longer needed the rental space. The woman, Jessica, who manages this facility, is the rudest and most mean-spirited person I have ever come across in my 23 years in the desert. First, at the time of the rental, she demeaned me in front of her employee for being "too cheap" to pay for the extra insurance offered by Extra Space that is required but not indicated on their website. I didn't need her insurance because my homeowner's policy covers off-premises belongings. Her verbatim response was, "we don't care." Next, after my home went into escrow again, I again contacted Extra Space to re-rent and was told I had been banned from their facility due to bad behavior (i.e.) canceling a contract. She should be fired as she does not professionally represent Extra Space. Furthermore, she is not suited for interfacing with the public or having an ounce of empathy when exceptional circumstances arise. What is particularly irksome is that I have an excellent rental history with Extra Space in Palm Springs. But her "ban" is company-wide. Terrible and costly experience. read more

ZERO STARS!! First , let me preface by saying that I have rented units many times from Extra Space Storage at various locations in Southern California. Always a good experience and always felt welcomed. UNTIL yesterday. Last week I reserved a unit at this location. Yesterday I drove 100 miles, rented a Uhaul, loaded up the truck with three helpers and went to this location to sign my contract and unload. So we arrive at this location at about 105 PM. On the door, it said will return at 145.....ugh ... so I've got three people on the clock. Note that the hours on the door, don't say that t hey are closed for lunch. So we go get some sodas, and get back there a little after 2pm. When I pulled in, there was a lady standing outside. She gave me a strange look. I got out of the Uhaul and told her that I had a reservation. She said, well I'm on lunch. I told her that I was here an hour ago and someone was on lunch then. She got a little indignant and then said she was getting the mail and would be back in 5 minutes. So I watched her get the mail and walk back to the office. On the door, it now said that they would return at 245. I followed her in. I guessed she was pissed because I interrupted her second lunch break. She went behind the counter, looked at the security monitors and I waited for her to greet me and ask me for my name. NOTHING!!! She then went out the back door and didn't come back. I decided to look on Extra Space website to see if another location had my desired 10x30 space. Found one at the Executive Dr. location in Palm Springs....headed over there and was treated very well. as expected. Stay away from this location. I don't know who was so rude to me, but if it was the resident manager, she should be canned. If corporate reads this, take action. Two lunch breaks? No one manning office? Website and emails did not indicate that office was closed for lunch or whenever Miss Rude(Jessica?) needed two lunches and\or a mail break.. Get your rabbis shot before you go in there because you will be dealing with a mad dog. Humility was not her strong suit. I ended up taking my business to Cathedrial Village Self Storage. While the facility and service are good I have had 2 rate increases in less than a year. I now pay 31% more than what I signed up for. When I called the office, the only explanation given was "we increase you to keep you in line with current rates" with no guarantee of future increases. I had a few items in a storage unit for about 5 weeks. I moved them to another storage unit...but left the unit available as I had more items to put it in next week. I did not put a lock back on the door. The RUDE office assistant, JESSICA - had the nerve to tell me that I WAS LUCKY SHE DIDN'T TAKE ME OUT OF THE SYSTEM!!! For real? I had paid 197.00 for the full month and she was trying to double dip....what a rip off place. I found 4 units, climate controlled at another facility for only 100 dollars more than this small 10X15. DO NOT WASTE YOUR TIME OR MONEY here...plus, you can never find the cart to help you unload your truck- they only have ONE for the entire place...and the assistant has a NASTY attitude...felt like we were back in Nazi Germany....jeez. read more

Potential storage unit renters BEWARE After going through a major move, I finally decided on extra space self storage. I hired people to move things and was finally getting organized when guess what!! They upped my rent to $10.00 more dollars a month, which is over a 10% increase. So I hired people again to move my stuff out. It was the same movers and even they said "it seems like we just did this!" Anyway it was a bad experience and cost me to move out again and go through the hassle of finding another place. When I asked the manager if everyone got an increase I was told that it happens on the 5th month. So don't let this happen to you!! Who knows how many times they will raise your rent. I had gone in to look around and question for future needs. Stephanie was so helpful and took me on a tour...she explained all I needed to know and gave me great tips of safely packing when my moving time approaches..she assured me that site manager Jessica would be there on her days off that she fills in a few different places she gave me Jessica's card. She did say sizes and availability change from day to day and to book as soon as we know our dates, also how important to have correct insurance. She made so much since about protection for our things that even tho the storage facility is normally a safe place that we insure almost every other part of our life, so that even if an additional fee she by experience knew it was well worth it....I ran into Stephanie at a store the other day she remembered me and asked if I had found our new home and moved out of storage yet. I explained I had dropped by one day a bigger gentlemen gave us rates and sizes he didn't want to really get out from his chair... I had been considering going elswhere. She had explained space changes day to day if my official moving date has not happened yet and ask for the manger Jessica to help or return my call that she would walk me through the process again refresh my memory or if they don't have the size I need that she would find me another property one street over if possible. Basically she stated she would call and remind office my name and make sure I was well taken care of..If that's not great service....I guess she out injured but still seemed to want to help me out to put my needs and questions first...I just want to Thank her for her help both on and off work.. read more

A previous uncomplimentary review was absolute nonsense (expletive deleted). The management at Extra Space, Cathedral City, is superb. The facility is extremely clean, tidy, modern, and secure. Jessica, the owner/operator, is extremely helpful, congenial, and absolutely professional. Her staff is equally professional and courteous. Put no stock in the John J review. Just one phone call to Jessica and you will immediately realize that John J must have some issues. I have no personal association with the facility or the management, I am a customer.
