In my efforts to speak with someone in regards to the lack of functioning climate control issues in the interior building unit that I have been renting for two years, I spoke with Fernando in Huntington Park. Unfortunately, you do not speak with someone who actually works for your location. Fernando let me know that in my contract I do not have a climate control unit and that you store at your own risk. Unfortunately, I rented a unit in a building that is supposed to be kept at 80 degrees, although there is no direct air into each unit. The AC has been broken for 3 weeks now, ruining my cosmetics which I store for my business. There is no estimated date of repair. We are in Palm Desert, Ca during July/August where the average temperature is over 110 degrees. If I wanted a unit with no temp control, I would have rented an exterior unit, which they do offer. However, that is not what I pay monthly for. I will definitely be contacting the Department of Consumer Affairs and the Better Business Bureau. read more

HORRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE!!!! I had to stop by the office three time to get the answer, there was no Information if the manager will be back and what time. Then I called the office number, the rep answered and said: " just go to another office 6 miles down the street." Really? I have already spent half an hour going back and forth due to the luck of the information on the web, or the office. I had to call the manager ( Fernando ) to inform of the situation, hoping they will correct it. His answer was:" For the privacy, we don't provide the information if the office rep is out and when will be back. If you don't like it, just find another storage." I consider it total disrespect to a customer and its time! read more

I Will start by saying their staff has always been amazing. But their hands are tied. There are several hazards within the facility that after a year of being a tenant they have not fixed. It has been brought to their attention several times not only by the tenants but by their employees. They decided to painting the facility was more important than fixing areas that could cause harm to their tenants and their belongings. we have been renting there under the assumption we would be in a temperature controlled building. Our unit however is not air-conditioned it has big slots so that the air can filter through. However it's going on two weeks now maybe more that the air-conditioning has been broken and we were never told. I only found out because I went in to do some work in my unit and could not stay in there longer than five minutes. It is over 100° in my area and we have very valuable things that are now being ruined. Fernando in Huntington park (i'm assuming at their corporate offices where he is out of this heat and is clearly not aware of how heat can ruin certain items) with Public storage has informed us that there is a part they are waiting for . However, regardless of whether or not our unit is temperature controlled the whole building is supposed to be at 80° and it is not. For that reason we were told to look at our contract as if that made a difference! horrible customer service from their corporate offices. I'm aware of the rates being raised through Edison and I'm assuming that's why they're not into much of a hurry to fix it. They actually raised the rent on top of it I'm the last few months . Way to take it vantage of your customers during a time when we should all be helping each other out. This company should be ashamed of themselves! I'm going to lose massive amounts of money because of the things that have been ruined! we will be moving our stuff out ASAP! read more

Having to store stuff stinks (ugh we need to let stuff go and stop dragging it around))...but the team of Alma, Carlos and Oscar at Public Storage consistently offer great customer service. We've made goofy requests (don't ask) and we're always treated respectfully (Carlos in particular goes above and beyond). The team there are always acommodating and friendly....who knew a storage facility would have such a great staff! 5-star customer service. The facility is secure (coded entry), clean, and well organized. We have a climate-controlled unit (costs extra vs standard). Storage costs are high in general...and that holds true here as they are located at extremely convenient and accessible location at Fred Waring/hwy 111. Seems very secure. Climate controlled units (the only ones we get) are very good. Everything (units) is a bit dusty and could use a cleaning, even in basement climate controlled units. Overall very clean though.. Great access. Great location in downtown Palm Desert (Painters Path/Fred Waring). Only giving it 4* because they are quite expensive. But a vast improvement over other storage facilities. read more

I've rented here for years.. the same manger has been there the entire time. From day one I was told that insurance on my 3 units was mandatory .. so for the past 7 years I've been paying $11 per month for each of my 3 units($33 month). Come to find out after looking on their website that insurance is not mandatory. I was also told that I had to use their locks ( which were $20 each). The website clearly states that a lock of my choosing can be used. This is only a few of the ways Carlos the manager dishonestly tried to make a extra buck off me and did...over $2,700! Beware of greedy dishonest manager! Go to rip off report.com. There have been many investigations by reputable news agencies and watch dog groups and several ex managers that have turned on their employer because of these practices. read more

This storage place is great, not the cheapest, however you get what you pay for. we have been using their services now for nearly 3 yrs, we have changed storage containers, and then got extra space though out the whole expereince it has been with easy and effortless. From the moment we walked into the main office and was greeted by smiling and friendly Carlos to his tour of the facility we knew we were in good hands and that we chose the right storage facility. Carlos showed us several units and went out of his way to find the best ones for our needs. He made filling out the paper work easy and went over all the details carefully and even color coded our keys for us so that we wouldn't get them mixed up. Alma arranged my storage unit. She was professional, helpful & polite. It's very hard to find a climate controlled actual "air-conditioned" unit verse's a "swamp pump" system which is not the same at all, but the other companies won't tell you unless you ask. You can't store photos etc in a swamp pump type air system, it will ruin your items. He even showed me how to pack dishes and offered to assemble the wardrobe boxes for me. Having rented a unit in Winter 2014 and finding the facility and management satisfactory (for 4 months) we automatically went right back to Public Storage this years for another unit. Our experience this year was significantly different...my caution is DON"T believe what the web site states when you read that they will reserve a unit for you for 1 week holding both price and unit. That did not prove to be true for us. I reserved on-line the smallest unit available on 11/19/14 with a scheduled move-in date of 11/26. The following day (11/20) I received confirmation of a 4X12' unit being held for us with move-n of 11/26. On 11/23 I received an e-mail offering expedited check-in with completion of the personal information necessary for the unit rental. I completed the check-in info and later that day received the updated paperwork with our newly provided information. (All information provided had been on file anyway from our prior rental in 2014.) On 11/26 we moved a load of boxes to Public Storage only to be told that our unit had been given to another customer on 11/25...the explanation given by Carlos Castro was that they had called our contact phone # and had not reached anyone. Carlos said that one time he had left a message and on 2 later calls he had not left messages. There were NO messages on our home phone number and we were staying in our 2nd home in Palm Desert at the time. I was extremely disgusted with Carlos and the Public Storage "promise" of holding a unit with reservation for one week, securing both unit and price...NOT TRUE...don't believe it. A call to Rick Jansen (Area Supervisor, as per Carlos) was never returned and no offer to provide another unit at the quoted price. VERY POOR CUSTOMER SERVICE!!! Never again at that facility. There are many other facilities at half the price in PD. read more
