I discovered my unit was burglarized within 24 hours of me being in it. Reported immediately to the police and the storage facility management. Management confirmed it had video footage from the day of the burglary. However, they refused to provide access or even identify license plate, and car make/model of the burglar(s). Three large items stolen would have been easily identifiable on video. There have been numerous burglaries at this location. And get this. They raised my rate by $200/month! Do not believe the positive reviews on other sites. Management continually harasses tenants to give positive reviews upon move in and thereafter. Regional management stated each site's managers are financially rewarded for the volume of successfully solicited positive reviews. And they are quick to hit you up before you get burglarized. There are much cheaper locations within a 1.5-mile radius. Three promised they would cooperate in any way to help tenants identify burglars should they occur. I will be moving to one in two weeks. read more

DON'T USE THIS STORAGE FACILITY. This company is absolutely terrible. They know people can't afford to up and move their storage units and they take advantage of that and gouge you. The rent routinely increases by 190% in a month. No reminder to prepay and keep your rate locked in. No chance to lower your bill by paying on time. No compassion when you call and ask to price match. They post the online rent for new renters but refuse to price match it to current customers. STAY FAR AWAY. read more

I had a good experience with ExtraSpace. Rose was very helpful and guided me through the policies and potential pitfalls of not knowing how the storage industry works. All of the storage companies I looked at had teaser rates but some of them allow you to lock in the monthly teaser rates for a longer period. This is the only way I could see to keep prices low ( see other comments) read more

They increase the price every 6 months. The first increase was 60 dollars and 6 months later they increased it again by 100, making the total around 300 a month. I would highly NOT recommend this only because the pricing long term is unrealistic, and because you're already there they use that to their advantage. read more

Unit was broken into storage company took no accountability. Believe it had to be an inside deal. Only took small valuable things left TVs, Bose Surround sound etc. seem extremely suspicious. My insurance only covered $2k since storage unit was away from primary resident. Facility extremely clean and located in a great area. Also there's cameras. The staff did not work with me at all. Wasn't up for pulling camera footage due to 2 week time cap since I actually went to my unit. Stated it would've taken to long to go through all the footage and also Carrollton police dept was a joke as well. Guess it's not hard being a robber. Also my rate jumped from $108 to $146. They never have carts for loading. I have seen one cart the 2 years that I have stored at this location. The last time I went to get items, my wife held the elevator door for me so I could drag my boxes into the elevator (because there was not a cart). An employee saw her holding the door and said to not do that because the relay for the breaker will trip. Well...maybe if you had carts she wouldn't have had to do this. Also, their gate was broken for months. Sadly, the employee attitude was the last straw for me. I'll be moving out this week and finding another facility for my crap. read more

Everything is great when you first sign up but then 60-90 days later they play the market analysis nonsense and jack your rate up. Of course you have all your items there so you have no real choice but to pay the exorbitant new fee. What was worse for me is I went in over 30 days prior to the increase and asked for them to help me out with the price increase and I never heard back. Shady business practice in my opinion but the excuse they give is we have month to month agreements so we need to assess the market. Very disappointed. read more

Store At This Location At Your Own Risk...Serious Theft Problems!! The theft here must take place after hours. Over $1500 worth of belongings stolen. Boxes had been opened...certain items stolen and then boxes retaped! No recourse available after leaving. Called "manager" he didn't care and DID NOT sound surprised or outraged that this happened!!! He did not call me back to answer any questions either. Disgusting behavior. Saw online that Extra Space Storage in Colorado had serious theft issues of locked storage units as well. Apparently this company does nothing about it!! Renters beware. You might want to put up cameras in your storage units if you choose to use this place! I rented a storage space at this location of Extra Space Storage. I know that it was kind of backwards how I paid, saw the unit, then was surprised because of its size (being smaller than I expected). Ended up renting something larger that is closer to where I lived. A week after the initial pmt., etc. I started calling about getting some kind of refund. I never moved anything into it, both customer svc. & that particular facility's manager said "no refund", but the Cust. Svc. person had said that the Mgr. might be able to help. The facility is okay, but BEWARE: they lure you in with a low initial rate, then jack up the rent each year. My rent has increased over 64% in three years, including the notice I just got which jumped it by 25%. They are basically daring you to either pay these ridiculous increases or go to the trouble (and added expense) of moving your stuff to another facility. Terrible business practice! read more
