The local management is nice and renting a new unit is easy to do, but the corporate owners are very shady. I have several units here, when I rented my second one, I asked about the arbitrary rate increases I'd heard about and was assured that the rate I signed on for would remain steady. The sales rep told me that occasionally there are adjustments for 'market rates' but they would only be a few percent every once in a while. BUT as is typical with Extra Space, the rate you sign on for will go up by 70-100% after a few months. This has happened twice to me now. NYC is currently suing them over this deceptive practice. Why not just show the consumer the promo rate and then the 'actual' rate at the time of sign up? As a business that depends on flexible storage space, I'd rather pay something reasonable upfront than play this 3-card monte game with them. Also, there appears to be a very bad moth infestation on the 9th floor. I see them flying around and even though I have no clothing or fabric in my unit, I have clothing moths, both alive and dead, accumulating in my unit (which just went from $110 to $195, btw) read more

So many things can get improve !! let me start by saying the location has too much work traffic going on the streets are unbearable to go through too much construction in the surrounding areas as well. The other thing is from the time I started going there's always a problem with the elevators finally, they've been fixed, but one of them is usually not working. The monthly fee for the unit keeps going up to the point it's just not worth keeping it any longer. And Just recently they closed the parking lot so you can't get the car close enough to carry your bins.You can't park on the corner of the street because of all the construction, you'd have to park three blocks away just to get to your unit . Not happy with extra space storage at all, but at this point, it's the closest one to me so pretty much I'm stuck with it read more

Where to begin with the issues of this location- firstly and most importantly- the astronomical price increases. I have had my unit for a little over a year and have seen it jump from 280 to 440$!!!! That sort of predatory practice is insane and especially in light of the other issues of this location. There is construction that at one point completely stopped any access to the units, and then after backlash they opened unit access to be a generous TWO hours per day. How does one move out? How does one move in? Tenants are stuck in their units with hugely inflated prices and literally cannot move out. read more

There is an employee at the Clinton Avenue space named Brittny (I'm sorry if I'm spelling it wrong!) , and she was just the most pleasant, incredibly helpful person I've ever encountered there. As an update, I received a second market adjustment in less then one year at the location increasing the rate by another roughly 50%. The regular elevator was fixed which is nice. Again, great location, but as I reminded myself in the previous review expect fast and frequent "market price" increases. We ultimately decided to move out after the second adjustment and the move out was very smooth. read more

Dude. I got off the phone with this company just now and Kiaa was awful. Screaming and cursing at someone in the background while on the phone with me, and then the kicker. When I asked her for assistance she said the words "I'm not willing to help you." WTF? BEYOND RUDE. She's a horrible employee and a horrible person. I've dealt with her in person when I was at the facility and she's just as bad, if not worse. Part of me wanted to let this go, but I'm sorry when I deal with someone who is just so despicable I just can't. I was happy to move my business elsewhere. Other than her, things were fine. First time moving in here in May 2022 we were running late and had a truck full of stuff. Despite that they were so kind, inviting and genuinely pleasant people. Agree with the other comment, whoever did the hiring here did an incredible job, the employees are what made me decide to keep the unit here instead of moving to a unit that's closer to my new apartment. read more

Never tried calling or using their website, but in-person these people were extremely helpful and kind to me. Whoever hired the current staff has done a very good job. The prices are reasonable, for $25/month I got a 4'x4'x4' unit, which is a great deal comparing to what I used to pay in Manhattan. The layout of the building is extremely straight-forward: elevators, stairs, and just lanes of storage units... no labyrinth mazes at all! read more

This facilityhas gone WAY down hill since it was Tuck It Away. Extra Space are rude and unhelpful on the phone and their website is CONSTANTLY down so when you try to pay, you can't, then, you get a hefty late fee. What a shame, this used to be a great storage facility. BOO HISS read more

Horrible experience storing at this location (with both the space and the staff) - after multiple miscommunications about moving out of my unit, I was expecting a call back from staff re:procedure. I went in on the agreed upon day (with, as usual, a broken elevator) only to find that instead of calling me back, my unit had been sealed and they changed the lock (I did not owe any money). When I went back downstairs to inquire, the staff started laughing with each other upon hearing my name/unit number. Knowingly, I asked if I had spoken with one of them earlier and after exchanged looks they said "no you just sound famous" - in a tone that made it quite obvious I was the butt of some joke. Someone reluctantly came upstairs and removed the lock they put on my unit (they cut off my lock, again, instead of calling me back - again, I owed $0). And in a first in my three years of storing items there, they told me I had to call someone else to come work the freight elevator. The relationships staff have with one another condition by the corporate structure of Extra Space Storage is toxic and customers feel it, unfortunately. Nightmare - elated to be out. read more

If you are thinking of storing your stuff here, think again. It has gone completely down hill from when Tuck It Away was running it and now you are on your own if you want to get any help from that location, speak to someone, or even try to call from the phone number associated with your account. If you do try to call any of the THREE numbers on their website https://m.extraspace.com/contact from the phone they have on file, there is no way to reach someone to speak to. You have to use a different phone. As for the condition at the facility, it's appalling. Dirty, wet, dark, broken elevator, you name it. read more
