She called, e-mailed and left messages with no response and then was told that she needs to hand over a $1300 chsiers check or her belongings would be auctioned off. This in tandem with them indiscriminately and without notice jacking up her monthly rent by over 70%. In addition her rent is now 50% more than what they are offering people for the same units. Awful experience. Will pay the fees and then move everything out. Stay away for this place as it's atrocious.

My only relief was realizing that I had been paying for the insurance. The manager told my husband we should have paid for the insurance when he reported the damage. We were really relieved to realize that we had gotten the insurance and been paying every month for the last few years. However it turns out that the protection agreement doesn't cover flooding of any sort. I would be less angry if I didn't find out that these units had all flooded before. I guess you are supposed to ask for a unit that doesn't regularly flood? What a waste, they really don't care about your possessions.

I've been storing my items here for over a year. Horrible customer service…read more Had and issues with a guy who hangs out in his shed from 9-7pm. Is this storage or homeless shelter? He stores and tried to sell his bikes from the shed. He stated some of the $1000 bikes were found or given to him. He offered to sell me a bike that was the exact same Specialized model and color as a bike that was stolen 2 months earlier from me. I called the cops and let them sort it out. I'll leave the rest of the details out as that is between the police and the guy. The manager decided to intervene in the police investigation. The manager was ignorant and decided to berate my wife and I because she had a preexisting 10 year relationship (stated by her) with the guy and that I should have taken my concerns to her before calling the cops. She wanted me to notify her that i suspected him of possessing a stolen bike (so she could notify him?) Yeah, that's just moronic. You notify the police and let them deal with it. And she was angry at me for calling police. Bad management putting itself in a police matter. When it comes to issues, legal or criminal, she's not thinking straight or protecting all customers.

I did a…read morethorough comparison of all the storage places in the Redwood City and surrounding areas, and JJ's was by far the best! Super reasonable rates, and all the units are ground floor with drive up access (vs most units where you have to go in a building, up an elevator, around a corner or 2, and down a hallway just to reach your unit). The large doors and roomy drive up access made moving my things in and out SO easy. The hours of access are also super flexible and the place feels clean and safe. This has been such a great experience, especially compared to my experience using a different storage space in the area a few years ago. I'm so glad I found JJ's and will absolutely recommend them to everyone I know!
