When I first brought it to their attention, I had noticed it had damaged a piece of furniture, but didn't seem to have been damaged beyond that. I asked who I should contact and the woman at the front was nice enough, but said No one was going to do anything. I left a voicemail for the manager, April and never heard back. About a year later, we were leaving the unit and went to get the rest of our stuff. This is what we noticed all of the mice droppings and further water damage to our property. We brought it again to the attention of the woman at the front desk, who was on speakerphone with April at that time and again said that "they ain't gonna do nothing" but to call back next week. I followed up and spoke with April who said that she would get back to me no later than Wednesday, but have not heard back since. Despicable. I have over $3500 in damage to property that went straight in the trash. I have reported them to the Better Business Bureau, and I am also filing a complaint with the Attorney General. Repeat customer no more!…read more I spoke with Steve (owner) on the phone in regards to seeing a file of the work he previously did for me. He came across as grumpy on the phone but I let it go because he said, "if we did the work, it's in the system and I can find it." Then came an email an hour later saying "Nope. The system makes me jump through hoops to release a file. No time for that. Just send me the changes you want." Steve not only forget his manners as he came across rude and abrupt (no "sorry" or even any ounce of effort to help), but he also forgot that if he wants me to send him changes to an existing file, he would have to find the time to eventually get that file anyway to print said changes! It's too bad "finding time" to help a repeat customer was so difficult for Steve. It would be a different story if he was simply unable to, but he made it clear he could find the previous work, he just chose not to. Life is too short to deal with grumpy old men with no awareness for how to speak to others, let alone how to run a business. Business owners are literally in business to support client needs with a solution - somewhere along the way Steve forgot that!

The absolute worst ! I purchased an adjustable base as well as thousands of dollars of furniture …read more My adjustable base worked for 4 months . Luckily I bought the protection plan , so I thought . They sent a technician out he inspected base and said it needs a new motor. Why would it need a motor ( did they sell me the floor model ?) the tech told me they would send parts and he would be back to repair my new base . 6 months later my base still has not been repaired or replaced . The general manager Mike basically told me it's not his department. His lack of communication is mind blowing . So here I am with a bed that doesn't work and no resolution. There are so many other furniture store near this location. Do yourself a favor a shop where u are valued as a customer , they won't sell u floor models without u knowing . 8 years ago when I used Burkhardt Movers, I had the most positive moving experience possible…read more Fast forward to 2023, and I wondered if they maintained their excellence. The bottom line is that you shouldn't waste time looking around, just use Burkhardt. One of the owners David came a week before the move, gave me a reasonable estimate and was incredibly personable. Then yesterday they sent two guys (Morgan and Kyle) who were absolutely tremendous. Sometimes you never know what you're getting with movers, but these two guys were courteous, listened to make sure that things were done the way I wanted, and they let me know on multiple occasions that they were dedicated to making sure that the job was done the way I wanted. And to make it even better, they were also focused on being efficient which meant that the move went smoothly and quickly without any feeling that they were cutting corners. It wasn't until later that I found out that Morgan is also a Burkhardt, and it gives me confidence that this company is going to be around for a long time. Moving is usually an emotional affair, but Burkhardt Movers were so fantastic that the sadness of the move was quickly replaced by gratitude for how pain-free they made the move. Thank you Burkhardt Movers!

My friend about was looking for mover recommendations when I told her about my horrible experience…read morewith this company, She said I should warn others, so here I am. I had used this company years ago in the early 2000's and had a good experience. However, the time I used them again a few years ago was a nightmare, One of the owners came to my apartment to give me an estimate. I was getting rid of most of my furniture because it was old and/or broken. So basically all I had to move was a bedroom set, a couch, and some boxes. He quoted me two people because I did not have a lot to move. In fact, when I used them before I only had two people because I did not have a ton of furniture but much more than I had this time. Anyway, imagine my surprise when on moving day THREE people showed up. One of them said to me that they didn't have much work that day. Oh so I am supposed to pay for that? They know they have you though because moving is stressful enough without an argument. Plus, I stupidly thought it would go faster. WRONG! They were so slow that even with three of them there would be long gaps between getting furniture. I went outside at one point and saw the three of them just hanging out on the truck. So finally when everything was done I said ok I will meet you at the new place. One of them said, we have to stop at the office real quick. I get to my new place, and it took them over an hour and a half to arrive. I called their cell phone at one point because they had given me the number, but of course they did not answer. So when they finally showed up and moved me in, they way overcharged me. At least a third more than what I was quoted. I was so tired and worn out that I just paid it. I had to return to work the next day so it took me a while to unpack. That's when I started to notice that I was missing things, jewelry, handbags, designer sunglasses, china from my Grandmother, a huge jar full of change, clothes etc. The problem was i could not prove any of it. I also stupidly used bankers boxes so I did not seal them because I have never had a mover steal from me. One of the movers even said to me that I should not have used them! I was too stupid to realize that the reason they took so long to get to my new place was because they were going through my stuff to see what valuables they could take. I am still heartbroken because some of the things they took were family heirlooms which really only had sentimental value. Please do not hire these people at any price! I wish I had brought them to court, and I still might. Anyway, I am hoping I can spare someone else from their thievery.

Rachel at Waste Network wrote back to us promptly after we requested an estimate through their website, and continued to communicate with us in a timely manner as we sorted out pricing and scheduling. Within a couple of weeks of our initial contact, Waste Network was at our house picking up our unwanted stuff. They arrived on time, worked quickly, and invoiced us electronically the same afternoon, at half the cost of the other company's quote. I could wish they had included the extra $35 disposal fee for our old dehumidifier in their original estimate, but that's really just a minor quibble (there was mention a $35 fee for TVs/monitors, which apparently extends to some other large electronics). Overall we are very happy to finally have the old junk that was hanging around our property cleaned up and gone!
