We had already contacted three other junk haulers by the time we reached out to Waste Network. Two never got back to us at all; the third gave us a quote that seemed high. Rachel at Waste Network wrote back to us promptly after we requested an estimate through their website, and continued to communicate with us in a timely manner as we sorted out pricing and scheduling. Within a couple of weeks of our initial contact, Waste Network was at our house picking up our unwanted stuff. They arrived on time, worked quickly, and invoiced us electronically the same afternoon, at half the cost of the other company's quote. I could wish they had included the extra $35 disposal fee for our old dehumidifier in their original estimate, but that's really just a minor quibble (there was mention a $35 fee for TVs/monitors, which apparently extends to some other large electronics). These guys rock! I shopped around a bit - needed a very old and EXTREMELY heavy (probably between 600-800lbs!) upright piano removed and hauled away. Unfortunately, as beautiful as it was, it had reached its life expectancy and was no longer useful - had several keys that no longer worked, broken hammers, and was too old/brittle to warrant repairs. We had purchased it used over 30 years ago from our church - and the thing was probably 80+ years old then!) So, it was time to go. Waste Network was quick to respond to my Yelp inquiry, and answered several questions along the way, and offered the best price I could find. We were then able to book the next day. Truck pulled up right on time and fully expected at least three, possibly four guys to arrive, but were shocked to find just these two step out of the truck. We were all a little concerned how they would pull it off given the awkwardness and weight of this BEAST, but somehow they managed it! And without any damage to the floor or doorways. I will never call anyone else for junk removal and her is why: The owner contacted me himself almost as soon as I posted an inquiry. He answered every question immediately or within 15 minutes, at most. He inspired trust and confidence. He even came by my house ahead of the truck to ensure that all would go smoothly. It did. I am preparing to sell my home and had piles of junk that filled almost the entire truck. It was done in half an hour. If you call a large company or franchise, such as 1-800-got junk or College Hunks Who Haul Junk, you will get a sales rep who has most likely never picked up a broken couch or a box of icky whatever. When you call Waste Network, you get The Person Who Does The Job. As to cost, the truck is larger than the large companies and in the end came out to over $150 less than all the other quotes I received.
